The annual 10-ball competition on the national calendar returns as the Park Inn by Radisson hotel in Telford stages the GB 9 Ball Tour Northern Masters for the third time.
First staged as a 10-ball competition back in 2012, this competition has been hotly contested every year since becoming a part of the GB9 calendar. The call shot nature of this code meets very well with most if not all players on tour, and as such has since become a firm favourite with both players and fans. Its similarities with 9-ball make the code easy to understand and follow, whilst the elimination of most flukes and lucky shots makes the code even more enjoyable for the purists. We are sure that all competitors will once again give it their all to put their name on the Northern Masters trophy and win one of the biggest 10-ball events on the continent.
Regrettably the 2015 Northern Masters now clashes with the World Pool Masters being held in Manchester across the same weekend. Entering its 23rd year, the tournament remains one of the most prestigious events in world pool and is a staple of the Matchroom Sports calendar. The tournament has been contested by many GB9 players since its inception. This year, three of GB9’s stalwarts – Mark Gray, Daryl Peach and Karl Boyes – will be absent from Telford. However, their absences will no doubt serve as encouragement for some of the best amateurs in the country to step up to the plate as they look to take the Northern Masters title home with them. GB9 wishes Mark, Daryl and Karl all the very best in Manchester, and looks forward to welcoming them back to Telford for the Southern Masters in September.
Play at this year’s Northern Masters will commence on the evening of Friday 14th August, with action all the way through to the evening of Sunday 16th August. Entry is once again free to spectators looking to see some of the finest cueists battle for one of the toughest titles in British pool. For those who can’t make it, the state-of-the-art GB9-Live scoring will be in operation alongside the fantastic free Live streaming. For those who can make it, we know you’ll enjoy the show!
If you wish to enter the event and haven’t yet done so, entry closes at midnight on Tuesday 11th August. Fill in the event entry form without delay.
In 2015 GB9 is proudly sponsored by Rasson Billiards, Simonis Cloth, Aramith Billiard Balls and Carlson Rezidor Hotels making the perfect combination of the very best equipment in the most outstanding venues.
