csi_newsCueSports International, Henderson, NV (Jan. 19, 2016) – CSI is pleased to announce that the 2015 Tiger Challenge (Shane Van Boening vs Mike Dechaine) has been released on the CSI YouTube Channel. The match was filmed on July 23, 2015 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

This challenge match features what many consider to be the two best players in the U.S., and both are known for their explosiveness and pure run-out style. The video even includes player interviews at the conclusion as they explain their thought process at different points of the match.

SHANE VAN BOENING (USA) – Fargo Rating: 822
Van Boening is generally considered to be the best player in the U.S. and has dominated the American pool scene since 2007. He really seems to excel in one-on-one challenge matches, often amassing overwhelming leads and discouraging his opponents early.

MIKE DECHAINE (USA) – Fargo Rating: 797
Dechaine is considered by many to be the second best player in the U.S. behind Van Boening. He has many titles to his credit and in 2015, he landed a role in a reality series called „The Hustlers“ which aired on truTV.

Bereits zum 74. mal wird der beste 14.1 Spieler bei dieser inoffiziellen Weltmeisterschaft gesucht. Dieses 14.1 Turnier ist in den letzten Jahren ein ziemlich großer Erfolg. Leider gibt es immer weniger Turniere, bei denen heute noch 14.1 (Straight Pool) gespielt wird. Für viele ist diese Disziplin nach wie vor die Königsdisziplin und das komplexeste Spiel überhaupt. Titelverteidiger ist Thorsten Hohmann aus Deutschland, er gewann dieses Turnier im letzten Jahr bereits zum dritten mal. Darren Appleton (GBR) gewinnt American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship 2014 im Finale gegen Karen Corr (IRE) mit 150-28. Den 3. Platz belegen Kevin Clark (USA) und Jason Klatt (CAN). Während in Europa vom 12. – 14. September 2014 die 2014 PREDATOR French Open und die Pinneberg Open 2014 ausgetragen werden, finden im Diamond Billiards in Midlothian/Virginia – USA die American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship 2014 statt. Dieses 14.1 Turnier ist quasi der Nachfolger der Maryland Straight Pool Championship, die im Vorjahr von Thorsten Hohmann aus Deutschland gewonnen wurde. Austragungsort ist das Diamond Billiards in Midlothian und das Preisgeld beträgt 25.000$. Davon gehen 5.000$ an den Sieger der American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship 2014. Gespielt wird in den Vorrunden am Freitag und Samstag ein Round Robin System auf 100 Punkte. Am Sonntag wird dann im Achtelfinale auf 125 Punkte gespielt und ab dem Viertelfinale auf 150 Punkte. 16th August – 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters Quarter-Finals Shane Van Boening (USA) 8-5 Waleed Majid (QAT) Darren Appleton (ENG) 8-5 Johnny Archer (USA) Ralf Souquet (GER) 6-8 Mark Gray (ENG) The 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters is down to the last four as Shane Van Boening, Darren Appleton and Mark Gray all won through their afternoon quarter-final matches to join Liu Haitao in the semi-finals on Sunday night at the Victoria Warehouse. In the final match of the session, Mark Gray put in a terrific performance to defeat Ralf Souquet following an excellent comeback as the match slipped away from him. At 6-3 down Gray looked to have it all against him but a miss from the German put him back in and from there he never looked back. Said Gray, “I am well chuffed.
