Auch die besten Pool Billard Spieler Europas gehen direkt nach der Europameisterschaft in Vale do Lobo/Portugal auf die Jagd nach wichtigen Punkten für das Euro-Tour Ranking und das Gesamtpreisgeld von 34.000 Euro. Die Portuguese Open 2015 versprechen ziemlich interessant zu werden, weil viele der Teilnehmer nach zehn Tagen EM Stress nicht mehr ganz frisch sein werden. Können sich die Medaillengewinner noch mal motivieren oder werden die frisch angereisten Teilnehmer den längeren Atem haben? Wir glauben, dass die Engländer wie z.B. Mark Gray, Imran Majid, Karl Boyes oder Daryl Peach, die nicht an der Pool Billard Europameisterschaft teilgenommen haben, große Siegchancen haben werden. 07/04/2016 Souquet over Cohen in 8-ball In the men’s 8-ball competition at the Dynamic Billard European Championships in St. Johann i.Pg., Austria, Ralf Souquet (GER) defeated Stephan Cohen (FRA) with 8:5. It was a duel of two grand masters. Both players are around in the pool circuit for quite some time now and they know each other ver well. Cohen came to the winner’s qualification round by winning 8:7 only over Petr Urban (CZE). Ralf Souquet had the same result in his favor against Marsel Safiullin (RUS). So both players had a hill-hill thriller stuck in their bones from the previous round. They played very carefully and slow in order to not make any mistake that the opponent might have benefitted from. After eight racks, the score was tied at 4:4. Souquet and Ouschan win the Dynamic Billard North Cyprus Open Ralf Souquet (GER) and Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) have won the titles at the Dynamic Billard North Cyprus Open Euro-Tour. In the men’s division, Ralf Souquet played at his best. He took down great names like Ivo Aarts (NED) 9:0, Imran Majid (GBR) 9:3, Mieszko Fortunski (POL) 9:3 and in the final match Karl Boyes (GBR) with 9:4. The final match was dominated by Souquet from start to finish. A bit scrappy in the beginning, Souquet turned out to have the far better break shot than Boyes. He pocketed almost every time a vll on his break and ran out 4 racks without even allowing Boyes into the table. The Brit however had to struggle with his break shot. Most of the time, he came up dry with no ball down or not enough balls crossing the kitchen line. This situation was taken advantage of by Souquet without any mercy.
