Van Boening Wins 2 More Andy Cloth WY Open Titles: Thompson & Pacheco Win First Titles Saratoga, Wyoming at the Platte Valley Community Center Saratoga, Wyoming- South Dakota’s young gunslinger Shane Van Boening took the lion’s share of the pro dough once more as he won back to back WY Open titles in Saratoga and 8-Ball. He defeated Corey Deuel in the Saratoga finals, and Mike Massey in the 8-Ball finals. The full field of 32 pro class and semi-pro class players competed in a single elimination format which were to be the first of 3 pro open events. Dennis Orcollo (PHI) gewinnt US Open 8 Ball Championships 2015 im Finale gegen Mike Dechaine (USA) mit 9-8. Den 3. Platz belegt Rodney Morris (USA). Thorsten Hohmann (GER) gewinnt US Open 10 Ball Championships 2015 im Finale gegen Justin Hall (USA) mit 10-4. Den 3. Platz belegt Shane Van Boening (USA). In der Zeit vom 24. – 31. Juli 2015 werden während der bereits laufenden nationalen US-Meisterschaft die US Open im 8 Ball und 10 Ball ausgetragen. Beide Pool Billard Veranstaltungen werden auf 7 Fuß Diamond Tischen ausgetragen, diese kleinen Tische erfreuen sich in den Staaten immer noch sehr großer Beliebtheit. Bevor es am 24. Juli 2015 mit den US Open 10 Ball Championships losgeht, findet bereits heute ein sehr interessantes Showmatch zwischen Corey Deuel (USA) und Jayson Shaw (SCO) statt. „Thorsten Hohmann (GER) gewinnt nach 2003 seinen zweiten 9 Ball WM Titel im Finale gegen Antonio Gabica (PHI) mit 13-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Carlo Biado (PHI) und Karl Boyes (GBR)!“ Seit heute laufen in Doha/Qatar die Qualifikationsrunden (Stage 1) zum 128er Hauptfeld der diesjährigen 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft. Die World 9 Ball Championship 2013 wird wie im letzten Jahr im Al Arabi Sports Club in Doha stattfinden. Bereits in dieser Qualifikationsrunde sind einige sehr starke Spieler vertreten. Es wird auf 7 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak gespielt, um sich für die Hauptrunde (Stage 2) zu qualifizieren. Die Weltmeisterschaft geht somit vom 02. – 13. September 2013. Am 06. September startet dann das Hauptfeld in 16 Gruppen zu je 8 Spielern. In der Gruppenphase, die auf 9 Gewinnspiele gespielt wird, wird im Doppel-KO System bis zu den Letzten 4 gespielt. Diese 4 Spieler jeder Gruppe ziehen dann in die Endrunde der letzten 64 ein. All Photos courtesy of Amber Henning Saratoga, Wyoming – USA’s #1 ranked Shane Van Boening went undefeated to win the 6th Annual Wyoming Open. The South Dakota native defeated Hawaii’s Rocket Rodney Morris in the 8-Ball bar table event that boasted a full field of 48 in the Masters Division. The event was produced by E.J. Glode and co-promoted by Dragon Promotions. Drawing over 150 players in 3 divisions, the Wyoming Open is widely regarded as the biggest and best pool event in 6 states. The event was sponsored by Asia’s #1 pro cloth Andy Cloth and Master Chalk. Local partners are Duke’s Bar & Grill and Riviera Lodge and all events coordinated by Shively Hardware. In the Sportsman Division featuring novice players, Mike Kozeniewski of Wyoming won the 50 player division. He defeated Dwain Twiford twice in the finals. The Classic Division featured a full 64 player field of advanced players and $1600 for 1st place. Colorado’s Don Clements went undefeated including wins over runner-up Kevin Wall twice.
