Am kommenden Freitag startet in Indiana/USA eines der spektakulärsten Pool Billard Turniere des Jahres. Das Derby City Classic 2017 startet somit in seine insgesamt 19. Ausgabe und ist wie in den letzten Jahren auch eine sehr komplexe und fast schon unüberschaubare Veranstaltung. Die ist eher als Kompliment zu verstehen, Pool Billard total 🙂 In der Zeit vom 20. – 28. Januar 2017 wird von den Teilnehmern alles gefordert. Es vergeht kaum ein Tag, an dem die Spieler nicht an einem Turnier oder Side-Event teilnehmen können. Zusätzlich wird es wie gewohnt beim Derby City Classic viele spannende und hochdotierte Money-Matches geben. Es wird neben der 9 Ball Veranstaltung noch 9 Ball Bank, One Pocket, Straight Pool und viele Mini-Turniere geben, um die Spieler bei Laune zu halten. Gerade bei den Bank oder One Pocket Wettbewerben kommt es sehr häufig zu Überraschungen. Eines der Highlights beim Derby City Classic ist die 10 Ball BigFoot Challenge, die auf einem 10 Fuß Pool Billard Tisch der Firma Diamond ausgetragen wird. 22nd December Mark Wilson stands down as United States captain FOLLOWING THREE YEARS at the helm of the USA Mosconi Cup side, Mark Wilson has stood down as captain after the recent heavy defeat at the Alexandra Palace, London. Wilson was appointed in January 2014 following a run of defeats and was in charge of all team affairs for the next three Mosconi Cups, all of which resulted in losses. Commented Wilson; “The three year record speaks for itself and while it is personally painful and deeply disappointing, it is the reality. Sport is about winning and a philosophy change is due when the scoreboard reflects a team’s shortcomings. “Despite the pain of losing there have been victories towards building the sport and I hold no regrets in terms of the efforts, support, and direction chosen. Bilder und Grafiken: Matchroom Sport/JP Parmentier Team Europa gewinnt Mosconi Cup 2016 klar und deutlich mit 11-3. MVP der Veranstaltung wurde der amtierende 9 Ball Weltmeister Albin Ouschan aus Österreich. Am kommenden Dienstag, den 06. Dezember beginnt in London das aufregendste Pool Billard Event des Jahres. Bis zum darauffolgenden Freitag, den 09. Dezember wird der Mosconi Cup 2016 auch in diesem Jahr alle Pool Billard Fans auf der Welt in zwei Lager spalten. Dieser Kontinentalvergleich zwischen einem Team aus Europa und den USA geht in seine 23. Ausgabe und findet dieses Jahr im Alexandra Palace statt. Der Austragungsort ist u.a. auch bekannt durch die jährlich stattfindenden Darts WM. Wie immer wird der Veranstalter Matchroom Sport für ein Spektakel sorgen und einige der besten Spieler der Welt werden Teil dieses Events sein. 19th February – 2016 Mosconi Cup Two captains named for MC XXIII MARCUS CHAMAT and MARK WILSON have been retained as respective captains of Team Europe and Team USA for the 23rd annual Mosconi Cup match which takes place at the Alexandra Palace, London from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th December. Chamat, 40, was victorious on his captaincy debut at the Tropicana in Las Vegas last year as he guided his side to an 11-7 victory. He will be hoping to make it two from two in London. In der Zeit vom 22. – 30. Januar 2016 wird von den Teilnehmern alles gefordert. Es vergeht kaum ein Tag, an dem die Spieler nicht an einem Turnier teilnehmen können. Neben all diesen Events wird es wie immer sehr viele Money-Matches abseits des eigentlichen Turniergeschehens geben. Es wird neben der 9 Ball Veranstaltung noch 9 Ball Bank, One Pocket, Straight Pool und viele Mini-Turniere geben, um die Spieler bei Laune zu halten. It could have been so much worse for the USA but they won a thrilling hill hill final match when a defeat would have left them three points adrift and the Europeans needing just four more wins to retain the trophy. Team Europe gewinnt Mosconi Cup 2015 mit 11-7. MVP der Veranstaltung wurde Niels Feijen (NED). Wie in jedem Dezember warten alle Pool Billard Fans auf das absolute Highlight des Jahres. Der 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup verspricht auch in diesem Jahr erneut alles in den Schatten zu stellen. Vom 07. – 10. Dezember 2015 werden in Las Vegas bei der 22. Ausgabe des Mosconi Cup die Teams aus den USA und Europa bei dieser Matchroom Sport Veranstaltung für ein außergewöhnliches Spektakel sorgen. Zugegeben, in letzten Jahren war der Mosconi Cup relativ einseitig und wurde sehr von den Europäern dominiert. Team Europa gewann die letzten fünf Begegnungen relativ deutlich. Der Mosconi Cup 2014 wurde von Team Europa mit 11-5 gewonnen und viele sind der Meinung, dass die Veranstaltung vom letzten Jahr ein wenig leblos war und auch das spielerische Niveau war nicht das Beste. 3rd November – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Final Ranking for Team USA FOLLOWING A nine event qualification series, the American team is now in place as they prepare themselves for a December assault on the PartyPoker Mosconi Cup. Having last won the coveted transatlantic pool silverware in 2009, this year’s team comprises the top five players on the ranking list. Shane Van Boening was the first to qualify after yet another stellar year but the remaining four spots came down the US Open. Mike Dechaine was the first to qualify and then shortly after it was Corey Deuel’s turn as he took some impressive scalps to garner sufficient points. 4th August – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Shane turns the screw but it’s wide open for remaining two spots Shane Van Boening remains the front runner in the 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Team USA ranking, but the race for the second and third spots on this year’s team for Las Vegas is hotting up. Van Boening sits top of the pile after the US Open 10-ball and US Open 8-ball tournaments. He has 72 points, twice as many as second-placed Corey Deuel and Skyler Woodward have amassed. With just Turning Stone and the US Open 9-ball to be played, Van Boening is a hot favourite to make Mark Wilson’s team but could still be displaced from the top three. Woodward and Deuel currently occupy the other two automatic qualification spots, but Jeremy Sossei, Justin Bergman and Scott Frost are all just four points behind while Mike Dechaine has jumped up the rankings after he finished runner-up at the US Open 8-ball. Wenn man in diesen Tagen die Pool Billard Fans nach einer Veranstaltung mit dem höchsten Unterhaltungswert fragt, werden die meisten das Derby City Classic nennen. Diese Pool Billard Veranstaltung findet zum 17. mal statt und wird auch dieses Jahr wieder für spektakuläre Pool Billard Unterhaltung sorgen. In der Zeit vom 23. – 31. Januar 2015 wird das Derby City Classic wie bereits in den Jahren zuvor im Horseshoe Casino in Elizabeth, Indiana/USA ausgetragen. In diesen 9 Tagen geht es beim DCC nur um eines, nämlich um Pool Billard Action auf höchstem Niveau. Es gibt zig Events, einige davon sind One Pocket, 9 Ball Bank, 9 Ball und die Straight Pool Challenge die im letzten Jahr von Ralf Souquet mit einer 178er Serie gewonnen wurde. Für all diese Turniere bzw. Disziplinen gibt es Punkte, der Spieler mit den besten Platzierungen wird am Ende zum All Around Champion – „Master of Table“ gekürt.
