2014 DCC: The Story – Day1 (part1) written by Martin Sawicki After a days rest and a good night sleep, here are some final words about this years event.. As all of you probably noticed I’ve worked hard to get this edition of DCC right up there with the biggest tournaments in Europe and on the international stage. Therefore I had to get it noticed by a lot of people.. you be the judge whether I succeeded in doing my job. I know that from time to time it must have been a little but annoying to get spammed and notified every single day for the past few months, but in my opinion just a marginal downside of things, it’s simply the way marketing works nowadays. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt 2014 PREDATOR Deurne City Classic im Finale gegen Joshua Filler (GER) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz belegen Moritz Lauwereyns (BEL) und Konrad Piekarski (POL). Die Ergebnisse zu den Side-Events gibt es weiter unten. Eines der Pool Billard Highlights des Jahres 2014 in Europa, findet vom 09. – 11. Mai in Deurne/Niederlande statt. Die 2. Ausgabe des Deurne City Classic ist ein äußerst ambitioniertes Projekt. Vorbild dieser Veranstaltung ist das weltweit sehr beliebte und bekannte Derby City Classic, das jedes Jahr im Januar ausgetragen wird. Das Besondere an dieser Veranstaltung ist die Vielzahl an Side-Events und weiteren kleinen Challenges neben dem Hauptevent. Auch beim Deurne City Classic 2014 wird für Spieler und Zuschauer eine Menge geboten im kleinen Städtchen Deurne in der Nähe von Eindhoven. Bereits am Freitagmorgen beginnt das DCC mit den Side-Events, es gibt ein 14.1 Shootout, eine 9 Ball Bank Pool Challenge, diverse Ringgames und die bei den meisten Spielern sehr beliebte Disziplin One Pocket wird ebenfalls gespielt. Marco Teutscher (NED) gewinnt Gelderner 9 Ball Open 2014 im Finale gegen Aziz Moussati (NED) mit 8-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Nico Baumanns (GER) und Xrhstos Davetas (GRE). Über Ostern findet vom 18. – 21. April 2014 in Geldern die Gelderner 9 Ball Open statt. Das Turnier bei einem der ältesten und traditionsreichsten Pool Billard Vereine in ganz Deutschland wird sicherlich ein Highlight für die Teilnehmer und Zuschauer. Ausrichter ist der 1. PBC Joker-Geldern 1976 e.V. und gespielt wird im sehr schönen Vereinsheim in der Schloßstr. 2a in 47608 Geldern. Auf sechs Brunswick Tischen werden an allen Turniertagen die Spieler bestes Material vorfinden. Das 9 Ball Event ist auf 128 Teilnehmer begrenzt und gespielt wird in 16 Gruppen mit je 8 Spielern. Die ersten 4 jeder Gruppe qualifizieren sich für den Finaltag der letzten 32 Teilnehmer. In den Vorrunden geht es auf 6 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak, am Finaltag wird um eine Partie erhöht. Preview: 2nd Annual 2014 Deurne City Classic 12.03.2014 – Deurne/Netherlands At this moment in time the Deurne City Classic is the biggest pool events held in The Netherlands. It’s strongly based on the well-known Derby City Classic, one of world’s biggest most visited tournaments. Organized and sponsored by Diamond Billiards Inc. at the Horseshoe Casino and Hotel in Southern Indiana. The Derby hosts world’s biggest one-pocket and bankpool event with more than 800 players visiting every year. A 24/7 greenroom where high-stakes gambling between local players and foreign superstars are being watched on internet live-streams all over the world. Winners of the Derby are mostly BCA Hall-of-Famers or international celebs like Efren Reyes, Grady Matthews, Shannon Daulton, John Brumback, Freddy ‘The Beard’ Bentivegna and recently Shane Van Boening has dominated the entire event. The Dutch version’s format is inspired by this big phenomenon but there’s more to the history of the event. Noel Bruynooghe (BEL) gewinnt Sjaak Kort’s Old School 9 Ball 2013 im Finale gegen Gijs van Helmond (NED) mit 8-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Julian Kortüm (GER) und Sascha Jülichmanns (GER). Am kommenden Sonntag, den 08. Dezember findet in Deurne/Niederlande das Sjaak Kort’s Old School 9 Ball 2013 statt. Das 9 Ball Turnier in Deurne wird zu Ehren von Sjaak Kort ausgerichtet. Sjaak Kort ist in den Niederlanden fast schon eine Legende. Bereits vor mehr als 20 Jahren gehörte er zu den Besten niederländischen Pool Billard Spielern. Ich kann mich daran erinnern, dass er Mitte der 90er Jahre einmal bei einem großen und Topbesetzten Turnier in Aachen aufgetaucht ist und dort annähernd alle Favoriten ausgeschaltet hat. Das Turnier war ursprünglich als etwas kleinere Veranstaltung mit 32 Teilnehmern geplant, aber die Veranstalter haben kurzerhand die Teilnehmerzahl wegen der großen Nachfrage deutlich erhöhen müssen. Derzeit liegen etwas mehr als 70 Meldungen in Deurne vor. Ich denke das viele sich noch an die sehr erfolgreichen Deurne City Classic 2013 erinnert haben. FINAL WORDS.. written by Martin Sawicki the 2013 Deurne City Classic 9ball has come to an AWESOMELY SATISFYING CLOSE ! .. a couple of month ago me and Aziz Moussati sat @ Ames and thought.. this joint is awesome for a good tournament, we have to do something about the fact that it doesn’t have it’s own big event and talked to Harry Charalampidis about the possibilities to create something that hasn’t been done in Holland for at least a couple of years now.. So 1st up was the name.. I immediately thought about the Derby City Classic and it’s awesome name, format etc. and came up with the DCC as Ames is in Deurne. Next up was the format and obviously 9ball was the best choice. Because of the massive amount of space and number of tables we were confident that a multiple side-events option was possible and added a couple of new thing into the tournament scene.
