Jayson Shaw (SCO) gewinnt US Open 9 Ball Championships 2017 im Finale gegen Eklent Kaci (ALB) mit 13-4. Den 3. Platz belegt Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz (SPA). Am nächsten Sonntag, den 22. Oktober 2017 beginnt in Norfolk, Virginia die 42. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships. Bis zum 28. Oktober werden bei dem wohl prestigeträchtigsten Pool Billard Turnier in den Vereinigten Staaten ein Großteil der Weltelite um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 200.000$ spielen. Die US Open 9 Ball Championships werden von vielen als die Mutter aller Pool Billard Turniere bezeichnet. Es gibt kaum einen Titel, der auf der Welt mehr Bedeutung hat. Auch in diesem Jahr gehen knapp 160 Teilnehmer als allen Teilen der Welt an den Start. Im Vorjahr gewann Shane Van Boening aus den USA im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 13-9. Der US Superstar sicherte sich damit seinen insgesamt fünften Erfolg bei den US Open. Der Gewinner am 28. Oktober erhält einen Siegerscheck in Höhe von 40.000$. 11th September – 2017 Mosconi Cup Final Team USA standings WITH THE qualification period for Team USA spots now complete, it was Shane Van Boening who topped the ranking after another stellar eight months that saw him record a string of victories. With qualification for the 2017 Mosconi Cup on a different footing, players needed to have finished in the top ten of the ranking to have a chance of being selected for the team by USA captain Johan Ruijsink. To give himself what he feels is the best possible chance for the USA to win the Mosconi Cup for the first time since 2009, the captain will pick his side from the top ten with the option of going outside the ten for one of his picks should he feel it necessary. Ruijsink is expected to name his full side early this week. The 24th running of the Mosconi Cup takes place from Monday to Thursday 4th to 7th December at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt Turning Stone Classic XXVIII im Finale gegen Jayson Shaw (SCO) mit 13-4. Den 3. Platz belegt Donny Mills (USA). In der Zeit vom 31. August bis zum 03. September 2017 findet in New York die 28. Ausgabe des Turning Stone Classic statt. Das Turning Stone Classic gehört in den USA zu den Top-Events im jährlichen Pool Billard Kalender. Diese Veranstaltung wird pro Jahr zweimal ausgetragen, im letzten Januar gewann der Schotte der Jayson Shaw das Finale gegen Mika Immonen aus Finnland mit 13-6. Auch wenn in diesem Jahr das Teilnehmerfeld überwiegend aus den USA kommt und einige andere Topspieler dem Turning Stone Classic fernbleiben, werden wir sicherlich viele spannende und unterhaltsame Spiele zu sehen bekommen. CueSports International, Henderson, NV (July 31, 2017) Alex Pagulayan proved the Lion still roars within him as he came from behind to steal the US Open 8-Ball Championship from Shane Van Boening, who had hoped for a second consecutive title and to earn back-to-back wins of both the US Open 8-Ball and US Open 10-Ball Championships. Pagulayan’s path to the finals included wins over: Danny Stone, Australia, 8-6; Skyler Woodward, Kentucky, 8-2; and Denis Grabe, Estonia, 8-3; before losing to Dennis Orcollo, Philippines, 7-8. In the loser’s bracket, Pagulayan bested Thorsten Hohmann, Germany, 8-7 and Lee Vann Corteza, Philippines and then gained revenge on Orcollo in the semi-finals, beating him 8-6. CueSports International, Henderson, NV (July 30, 2017) Shane Van Boening of South Dakota will meet Dennis Orcollo of the Philippines for the hot seat match of the US Open 8-Ball Championship at 1 p.m. PST July 30. Van Boening, who won the 2016 US Open 8-Ball & 10-Ball Championships, is hoping to repeat last year’s double dip. His path to the hot seat included wins over Sina Valizadeh, 8-2; Manny Perez, 8-5; Josh Roberts, 8-3; and Lee Vann Corteza, 8-6. Orcollo beat Chris McDaniel, 8-1; Danny Olson, 8-3; and Nick Malaj, 8-3; before sending Alex Pagulayan to the loser’s bracket in a tight hill-hill match. CueSports International, Henderson, NV (July 19, 2017) — Shane Van Boening once again proved to be an indomitable force as he plowed through a tough international field to capture his second consecutive US Open 10-Ball Title. Van Boening said his hard work in preparing for the tournament, which was a much different format than last year’s. This year, CueSports International, which produces the US Open 10-Ball and US Open 8-Ball Championships, returned the prestigious tournament to 9-foot tables. This year’s field was packed with international stars, including players from Greece, Germany, Qatar, Poland, Austria, Kuwait, and, as always, the Philippines. “My hard work, my breaks, helped me succeed to win in this very tough field,” Van Boening said. Van Boening was undefeated going into the finals. He posted wins over: Danny Stone, 9-4; Vinnie Calabrese, 9-4; Ralf Souquet, 9-6; Lee Van Corteza, 9-7; and Warren Kiamco, 9-4. CueSports International, Henderson, NV (July 19, 2017) — Only four remain undefeated at the 2017 US Open 10-Ball Championship. Shane Van Boening is the sole US player still on the A side of the bracket as the final day of the tournament begins. He is joined by Philippine players Lee Vann Corteza, Warren KIamco and Canadian Alex Pagulayan. Several tournament favorites were ousted during the second day of play, including Mika Immonen, Dennis Orcollo, Thorsten Hohmann and Billy Thorpe. After losing his first match to Pagulayan, Corey Deuel has torn an impressive path through the loser’s bracket, beating Sayeem Hossain, John Schmidt, Immonen, Vilmos Foldes and Orcollo. He faces Justin Bergman at 9 a.m. Las Vegas native Max Eberle has also had a remarkable journey. Juli 2017 finden in Las Vegas die US Open 10 Ball Championship statt. Bis zum darauffolgenden Mittwoch, den 19. Juli 2017 werden viele internationale Top-Spieler um ein Preisgeld von ca. 85.000$ spielen. Im letzten Jahr wurden diese Wettbewerbe noch auf sogenannten Bar Tables (7 Fuß) ausgetragen. Die „kleinen“ Tische sind in den USA sehr beliebt, allerdings kann man z.B. in Europa mit dieser Tischgröße nicht viel anfangen. Dadurch sind die US Open 8 Ball und 10 Ball im Jahr 2016 ein wenig untergegangen.
