Mario He (AUT) gewinnt Austria Open 2017 im Finale gegen Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz (SPA) mit 9-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Joshua Filler (GER) und Albin Ouschan (AUT). Die Austria Womens Open 2017 gewinnt Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) im Finale gegen Veronika Ivanovskaia (GER) mit 7-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Kristina Tkach (RUS) und Tina Vogelmann (GER). Die anspruchsvollste Pool Billard Tour der Welt macht ihren nächsten Stopp in Österreich. Die Austria Open 2017 finden vom 18. – 20. Mai 2017 in St. Johann statt. Mit mal wieder mehr als 160 Teilnehmern ist das Starterfeld dieser Euro-Tour erneut sehr gut besetzt, bis auf wenige Ausnahmen wird auch diese Veranstaltung die besten Pool Billard Spieler Europas an die Tische bringen. Die letzte Euro-Tour Veranstaltung Ende März in Portugal, gewann der Niederländer Nick van der Berg, er sicherte sich damit seinen zehnten Sieg auf der Tour. 22/03/2017 Deklerck, Matas and Bijsterbosch win the 10-ball titles At the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair Athletes in the Salgados Palace Hotel in Albufeira, Portugal, the gold medals in 10-ball have been awarded. Kurt Deklerck (BEL), Amalia Matas (ESP) and Marc Bijsterbosch (NED) have taken the titles in their respective division. It is the first European Champion title for the 23-year-old Bijsterbosch. After having eliminated his teammate and favoured player Niels Feijen (NED) 10:8 in the quarterfinal match, Bijsterbosch took on Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz (ESP) in the semi-final. He stood tall and took the victory with 10:6 which brought him into the final match. His opponent there was Christian Sparrenlowv-Fischer (SWE), another underdog that was not expected in the final match at all. 16/04/2016 Gray and Ouschan took Euro-Tour titles With solid performances, Mark Gray (GBR) won the Dynamic Billard Austrian Open and Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) won the Ballazzo Austrian Women’s Open in Alpina Sports and Wellness Hotel in St. Johann i.Pg., Austria. The men’s final was played between highly favored Mark Gray and underdog Ronald Regli (SUI). The way to the final match today lead Regli over Petri Makkonen (FIN) 9:7, Ivo Aarts (NED) 9:6 and Marco Teutscher (NED) 9:5 in the semi-finals. Gray defeated Imran Majid (GBR) 9:3, Sebastian Staab (GER) 9:6 and Joshua Filler (GER) 9:6 for his seat in the final match. Gray, being the favored player here took the stage and opened his account first. After Gray took a 2:0 lead, Regli was able to pull two racks back and tie the match at 2:2. 07/04/2016 Souquet over Cohen in 8-ball In the men’s 8-ball competition at the Dynamic Billard European Championships in St. Johann i.Pg., Austria, Ralf Souquet (GER) defeated Stephan Cohen (FRA) with 8:5. It was a duel of two grand masters. Both players are around in the pool circuit for quite some time now and they know each other ver well. Cohen came to the winner’s qualification round by winning 8:7 only over Petr Urban (CZE). Ralf Souquet had the same result in his favor against Marsel Safiullin (RUS). So both players had a hill-hill thriller stuck in their bones from the previous round. They played very carefully and slow in order to not make any mistake that the opponent might have benefitted from. After eight racks, the score was tied at 4:4. So far, none of the two players was able to gain an advantage of more than one rack over the other. But then, Souquet managed to get a 6:4 lead over Cohen. That was exactly what he needed.
