Mario He (AUT) gewinnt North Cyprus Open 2016 im Finale gegen Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz belegen Jayson Shaw (SCO) und Mika Immonen (FIN). Die North Cyprus Women Open 2016 gewinnt Kristina Tkach (RUS) im Finale gegen Marharyta Fefilava (BLR) mit 7-3. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Kateryna Polovinchuk (UKR) und Veronika Ivanovskaia (GER). Am kommenden Donnerstag startet in Kyrenia/North Cyprus die Euro-Tour in den Frühling 2016. Vom 02. – 05. Juni 2016 werden im Acapulco Holiday Resort die North Cyprus Open 2016 der Damen und Herren stattfinden. Für die Herren geht es neben dem Gesamtpreisgeld von 34.000 Euro natürlich auch wieder um viele wertvolle Punkte für das Ranking zur Qualifikation zum diesjährigen Mosconi Cup Anfang Dezember. Titelverteidiger der North Cyprus Open ist Ralf Souquet, der deutsche Ausnahmeprofi bezwang bei der letzten Ausgabe in Kyrenia, 2014, Karl Boyes aus Großbritannien im Finale mit 9-4. 15/04/2016 Juva humiliated Ortmann at Dynamic Billard Austrian Open Euro-Tour At the Dynamic Billard Austrian Open 2016 in St. Johann i.Pg., Austria, Markus Juva (FIN) trounced former World 9-ball Champion Oliver Ortmann (GER) 9:3 in the loser’s qualification round. Ortmann, who had been sent to the loser’s side by a narrow 8:9 defeat against Eklent Kaci (ALB) earlier today, made his way through to the loser’s qualification round with victories over Milan Mrva (SLK) 9:7 and Marco Spitzky (GER) 9:7. There he met Juva who just lost his last match with Sebastian Staab (GER) 7:9. On paper, Ortmann was the clearly favored player. But sometimes the paper does not tell the truth. Juva quickly got speed and after 2:2, he managed to win five racks in a row which put him up 7:2 over Ortmann. He then took a time-out and when he came back, Ortmann took the next rack. Mark Gray (GBR) gewinnt Austrian Open 2016 im Finale gegen Ronald Regli (SUI) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz belegen Marco Teutscher (NED) und Joshua Filler (GER). Die Austrian Womens Open 2016 gewinnt Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) im Finale gegen Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL) mit 7-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Vania Franco (POR) und Amalia Matas (SPA). Direkt im Anschluss an die Pool Billard Europameisterschaft in St. Johann/Österreich findet an gleicher Stelle der nächste Euro-Tour Stopp des Jahres statt. Vom 14. – 16. 1st March – 2016 Mosconi Cup Fortunski wins in Italy to head MC ranking MIESKO FORTUNSKI is yet another in a long line of Polish players to make an impact in Europe as he won the Italian Open on the Euro Tour last week to take the early lead in the 2106 Team Europe Mosconi Cup rankings. The young Pole defeated seasoned vet Ralf Souquet who is himself looking to make his record-equalling 17th appearance in the annual Europe v USA 9 ball challenge. Other high finishers were two-time Mosconi Cup winner Nikos Ekonomopoulus and Jayson Shaw who both reached the semi-finals. Shaw has made his Mosconi Cup intentions clear this year by competing in the opening qualifying event. Niels Feijen and Mark Gray were also in the points as was Konstantin Stepanov, a Mosconi Cup winner in 2007. 25/02/2016 Magnificent standard of performance in Treviso The first day of the Dynamic Billard Italian Open in the BHR Best Western Hotel in Treviso, Italy, has proven one thing for sure: the level and standard of European pool billiards is extremely high. Clear victories were presented by two European star players who have decided to live in the United States these days. Mika Immonen (FIN) and Jayson Shaw (SCO) have attended the Euro-Tour since an absence of many years in order to find out about the competition level in Europe. „Iceman“ Immonen, who has participated in the Euro-Tour since its beginning in the early 90’s and is living in the US for many years now, whipped Rafig Adigazalov (EST) 9:1 and then remained the upper hand over Mateusz Sniegocki (POL) 9:7. „Eagle-eye“ Jayson Shaw had a bit more work to do today. Die Italian Women Open 2016 gewinnt Jasmin Ouschan im Finale gegen Christine Wiechert (GER) mit 7-1. Den 3. Platz belegen Nataliya Seroshtan (RUS) und Katarzyna Wesolowska (POL). Am kommenden Donnerstag, den 25. Februar 2016 fällt der Startschuss für die Euro-Tour 2016. Wie in den letzten Jahren zuvor, startet die EPBF mit dem ersten Euro-Tour Event in Italien in das neue Jahr. Im sehr schönen BHR-Hotel in Treviso wird nahezu die gesamte europäische Pool Billard Elite am Start sein. Wenn am Samstag, den 27. Februar der Gewinner der Italian Open 2016 feststeht, hat dieser sich durch ein Teilnehmerfeld von knapp 200 Spieler durchgekämpft. Im letzten Jahr gewann der Niederländer Niels Feijen an gleicher Stelle im Finale gegen Nick Malaj aus Griechenland mit 9-2. Am kommenden Freitag startet in Indiana/USA eines der aufregendsten Pool Billard Turniere des Jahres. Die 18. Ausgabe des Derby City Classic 2016 ist wie in den letzten Jahren auch eine sehr komplexe und fast schon unüberschaubare Veranstaltung. Das soll nicht negativ gemeint sein, ganz im Gegenteil. In der Zeit vom 22. – 30. Januar 2016 wird von den Teilnehmern alles gefordert. Es vergeht kaum ein Tag, an dem die Spieler nicht an einem Turnier teilnehmen können. Neben all diesen Events wird es wie immer sehr viele Money-Matches abseits des eigentlichen Turniergeschehens geben. Es wird neben der 9 Ball Veranstaltung noch 9 Ball Bank, One Pocket, Straight Pool und viele Mini-Turniere geben, um die Spieler bei Laune zu halten. Eines der Highlights beim Derby City Classic ist die 10 Ball BigFoot Challenge, die auf einem 10 Fuß Pool Billard Tisch der Firma Diamond ausgetragen wird. Mika Immonen (FIN) gewinnt Turning Stone Classic XXV 2016 im Finale gegen Eric Hjorleifson (CAN) mit 13-2. Den 3. Platz belegt Oscar Dominguez (USA). Das Turning Stone Classic feiert in diesem Januar sein 25. Jubiläum. Die 25. Ausgabe des Turning Stone Classic verspricht wie in den letzten Jahren Pool Billard der Extraklasse. Dieses 9 Ball Event gehört zu Mike Zuglan’s Joss Northeast 9 Ball Tour und ist eines der populärsten Turniere der USA. Hier stimmt zumeist alles, eine tolle Organisation, ein starkes Teilnehmerfeld und ein sehr gutes Preisgeld. Titelverteidiger des Turning Stone Classic ist Jayson Shaw aus Schottland. Jayson Shaw hat seinen Wohnsitz mittlerweile in die USA verlegt und er gewann die letzten drei Ausgaben dieses Turniers.
