Die 19. Auflage des World Pool Masters verspricht wie jedes Jahr hochklassige und spannende Matches. 16 der besten Spieler der Welt spielen um den Siegerscheck von 20.000$ (Gesamtpreisgeld: 66.000$). „Yukio Akagariyama (JAP) gewinnt World 9 Ball Championship 2011 im Finale gegen Ronnie Alcano (PHI) mit 13-11!“ Vom 21.06. – 02.07.2011 finden in Doha/Qatar die World 9 Ball Championship 2011 statt. Im Al Sadd Sports Club trifft sich dieses Jahr erneut alles was Rang und Namen hat um den neuen Weltmeister 2011 zu ermitteln. Insgesamt gehen mehr als 200 Teilnehmer aus knapp 50 Nationen an den Start. Das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 250.000$. Gespielt wird in 16 8er Gruppen Doppel KO auf 9 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak. Die besten 4 (2 Gewinner/2Verlierer) qualifizieren sich für die Endrunde der letzten 64, hier wird dann im Einfach KO weitergespielt. Titelverteidiger ist Francisco Bustamante der im letztjährigen Finale Kuo Po Cheng aus Taiwan mit 13-7 bezwungen hat. Das komplette Teilnehmerfeld wird in den nächsten Stunden sicherlich auf der offiziellen Homepage veröffentlicht werden, denke aber das kaum ein Name fehlen wird.
