23/03/2016 Europe Announces 2016 Atlantic Challenge Cup Team The European Pocket Billiard Federation today announced its team to face the Americans during this year’s staging of the Atlantic Challenge Cup taking place July 8 – 11, 2016 in Schaumburg, Illinois (just outside Chicago). “After the Europeans’ success during the 2015 inaugural Atlantic Challenge Cup, the Americans will have home soil advantage and will want revenge,” said David Morris, International Billiard Promotion Foundation president. “With that in mind, the Europeans have assembled a strong line up of players who have won at the highest level just to qualify for this year’s team.” First onto the team comes Krystian Cwikla. It was the European gold in the 9-ball U19 division which ensured Poland’s top youth player a spot on the team. Poland’s Patryk Statkiewicz was part of last year’s winning team and will be able to offer Krystian plenty of advice on what to expect in Chicago. Team Europa gewinnt Atlantic Challenge Cup 2015 gegen Team USA mit 11-9. Vom 01. – 04. Juli 2015 findet in Rankweil/Österreich die erste Ausgabe des Atlantic Challenge Cup 2015 statt. Das große Vorbild dieser Veranstaltung ist der von Matchroom Sport organisierte Mosconi Cup. Der Mosconi Cup gehört zu den Top Pool Billard Veranstaltungen des Jahres und überzeugt durch sein Format, die Stimmung und den Kampf zwischen den USA und Europa. Der Atlantic Challenge Cup 2015 ist ein Team Pool Billard Event, an dem die besten Junioren aus den USA und einige der besten Junioren aus Europa teilnehmen werden. Die Teams der USA und Europas bestehen jeweils aus 6 Spielern. Für die USA werden bei diesem Pool Billard Vergleichskampf Tyler Brandom, Nick Evans, Joshua Franklin, Drake Niepoetter, Taylor Hansen und April Larson an den Start gehen. Sicherlich sind die Namen dieser Auswahl den meisten relativ unbekannt. 04/04/2015 The European Pocket Billiard Federation today announced its team to face the Americans during the inaugural staging of the Atlantic Challenge Cup starting on the 1st July, 2015. There is a formidable duo of Germans in Joshua Filler & Raphael Wahl, who both picked up double gold’s at last year’s European championships. Another duo, this time all the way from Russia, sees European Girls 8-ball Champion, Kristina Tkach, and the #34 ranked player, therefore the highest ranked youth player on the Eurotour,Maxim Dudanets make the team. With the team consisting of four boys and two girls, there was still one spot in each category to fill. Finalizing the girls’ roster is the Belarusian Marharyta Fefilava, with her silver medal at the 9-ball girls Youth EC in 2014. The final boys’ spot goes to Sweden’s Daniel Tangudd who qualified through the Eurotour rankings due to the double winners of Joshua & Raphael. Daniel himself also picked up a silver and a bronze medal at the Youth EC and has earned his place on the team. […]

Four medals for Team Europe and a chance for a title 18/11/2014 The two remaining European players on the loser’s side in this year’s World 9-Ball Championships for Youth in Shanghai, China, were Raphael Wahl (GER) and Patryk Statkiewicz (POL). Wahl met S. Myanganbayer (MON) in the loser’s qualification round. It was a one-sided match in favor of the German and even with a few mistakes committed, Wahl easily took the match with 9:3. Statkiewicz had a tougher opponent to face. Hsu Jui An (TPE) also wanted a spot in the single elimination stage of the event. The match was a tough battle between the two players. After 13 racks, the score was 7:6 in favor of Hsu. It was Statkiewicz’s break then. Both players seemed to be nervous and played bad shots. Hsu was able to win that rack and got on the hill with 8:6. The next rack turned out to be the final rack. Again, Hsu won it and ousted Statkiewicz with 9:6 after a hard fought encounter. As the last matches […]

Youth World 9-Ball Championships on in Shanghai, China 16/11/2014 The European Youth squad with the Youth Sports Director Sandra Hanf (GER) as their leader and Piotr Kedzior (POL) as support is currently trying to repeat their outstanding results from last year. The divisions are Under 17’s, Under 19’s and Girls. There are 24 players participating in each division, representing a total of 28 nations Under 19’s Joshua Filler (GER) had a walk over in his first round. He then got the better of Samuel Hui Sim/Zhong (SIN) with 9:4. The balls were rolling in his favor in that match. His teammate and fellow countryman Raphael Wahl (GER) had a perfect start with a 9:1 victory over Nasie Kotze (RSA). In the second round, Wahl met Liu Hao Wei (TPE). The match was really close and a tough fight for both players. After 14 racks, the score was tied at 7:7. Then Liu managed to get the upper hand and win the match with 9:7. Vom 15. – 18. November 2014 findet in der Shanghai Huimin Middle School in Shanghai/China die 2014 Juniors 9 Ball World Championship statt. Die 9 Ball Junioren Weltmeisterschaft ist für den Nachwuchs die große Chance sich einen sehr begehrten Titel zu sichern. Oft ist dieser WM-Titel ein Sprungbrett um den Anschluss an die absolute Weltspitze zu schaffen. In Shanghai spielen die Junioren bis 19 Jahre (U19) und die Schüler (U17) sowie die Mädchen. Aus insgesamt 20 Ländern kommen alle der Teilnehmer dieser Junioren Weltmeisterschaft. Aus europäischer Sicht sind folgende Spieler zu den Titelanwärtern zu zählen: Daniel Maciol (POL), Cyriel Ledoux (NED), Maxim Dudanets (RUS), Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL), Natalia Seroshtan (RUS) und Kristina Tkach (RUS). Für Deutschland in der Kategorie der U19 werden Joshua Filler und Raphael Wahl in Shanghai am Start sein und beide haben sicher realistische Chancen auf die Goldmedaille.
