World Cup of Pool 2013 Live bei Sport1

Der in der Zeit vom 17. – 22. September 2013 stattfindende World Cup of Pool wird Live von Sport1 übertragen. Das Pool Billard Doppelevent der Extraklasse wird in der York Hall in London ausgetragen und 31 Nationen kämpfen um eine der begehrtesten Trophäen, die es im Pool Billard Sport gibt. Zu sehen ist das Turnier bei Sport1 im kostenlosen Internet Livestream und ab dem Viertelfinale auch im Free TV. Kommentiert wird das Pool Billard Spektakel von Sport1 Kommentator Sebastian Bernsdorff und Pool Billard Bundestrainer Andreas Huber. Ich bin gespannt auf die Übertragung des Senders und ob man es schafft die außergewöhnliche Atmosphäre des World Cup of Pool einzufangen. Es bleibt abzuwarten, in welchem Umfang die Partien gesendet werden. Ich bin recht optimistisch das sich zumindest im Livestream die Werbeblöcke in Grenzen halten 😉 Allerdings legt der Veranstalter Matchroom Sport großen Wert darauf, dass die Veranstaltung im Mittelpunkt steht und vernünftig präsentiert wird. The Fulda native defeated Englan’ds Darren Appleton to claim the title a record three times, more than anyone in 50 years. Appleton on his first opening offensive inning ran a perfect 200 point game. This put him in the record books with a 200 to 1 score over Filipino world champ Francisco Bustamante. New York, New York – Schmidt becomes the least American standing once again. Hohmann the last German standing. The semi-finals could have been set as a finals match in any other year. The two titans of 14.1 faced off for the right to play one match for the title once again. The stars are inching closer to the oldest title in the world. New York, New York – The Ice Man is heating up. Mika Immonen ran his second century with a 102 ball run against Johnny Archer. The win advanced Mika to the final 16 and eliminated Archer from the World Tournament. It is the first time Archer has not made it to the final stage of the event. After winning the lag, Shane made a perfect 100 run. Day 1 some some stellar straight pool as players inch closer to the World Tournament Champion title. Tough battle in the loser’s round Sarajevo, Bosnia & Hercegovina: After a fierce fight in the loser’s bracket, Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) overcame Mehmet Bakici (TUR) with 8:7 in a thrilling finish. Ekonomopoulos already faced some serious problems today. He lost his opener and needed to win this match in order to stay alive in the tournament. His opponent is not among the top players of the Euro-Tour… but sometimes dark horses just come out of nowhere and perform incredibly well. The match started quite leveled with both players playing solid pool. After the first six racks, it was all square at 3:3. Then it seemed as if everything goes back to „business as usual“. Ekonomopoulos won three racks in a row and Bakici committed a few mistakes. Leading 6:3, Ekonomopoulos broke the rack and scratched. Bakici took the cue ball and ran out.
