Konstantin Stepanov (RUS) gewinnt North Cyprus Open 2013 im Finale gegen Daniele Corrieri (ITA) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Niels Feijen (NED) und Bruno Muratore (ITA)! Vom 10. – 12. Oktober 2013 findet nach etwa zweimonatiger Pause das nächste Euro-Tour Event statt. Die North Cyprus Open 2013 werden im Acapulco Holiday Resort in Kyrenia/North Cyprus ausgetragen. Sicherlich gibt es weniger einladende Orte um Pool Billard zu spielen 🙂 Im Vorjahr gewann Nick Malai aus Albanien im Finale gegen Albin Ouschan (AUT) mit 9-5 diese 9 Ball Veranstaltung. Auch bei diesem Euro-Tour Event werden erneut sehr viele europäische Topspieler am Start sein, auch wenn man feststellen muss, dass die Teilnehmerzahl deutlich geringer ist als sonst. Leider fehlen bei den North Cyprus Open 2013 auch einige der besten Pool Billard Spieler, die man eigentlich in Kyrenia erwartet hätte. „Mateusz Sniegocki (POL) gewinnt Bosnia & Herzegovina Open 2013 im Finale gegen Tomasz Kaplan (POL) mit 8-6. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Daryl Peach (GBR) und Stephan Cohen (FRA)!“ Nach den Europameisterschaften der Jugendlichen, Senioren und Ladies in den letzten Wochen findet an gleicher Stelle das nächste Euro-Tour Event statt. Im Radon Plaza Hotel in Sarajevo ist alles vorbereitet für die Bosnia & Herzegovina Open 2013. Vom 15. – 17. August werden in der Hauptstadt von Bosnien & Herzegowina eine sehr große Anzahl der besten Spieler Europas am Start sein. Den letzten Euro-Tour Stop in Österreich ende Mai gewann der Niederländer Niels Feijen im Finale gegen den Griechen Alexander Kazakis mit 9-4. Niels Feijen liegt derzeit auch in der Euro-Tour Gesamtrangliste auf Platz 1, gefolgt David Alcaide (SPA) und Albin Ouschan (AUT). Das Gesamtpreisgeld in Sarajevo beträgt 34.000 Euro und bislang sind bei diesem 10 Ball Event mehr als 130 Teilnehmer registriert. Amazing comeback by young German Sarajevo, Bosnia & Hercegovina: In an exciting and thrilling encounter, Tobias Bongers (GER) came from behind and vanquished Tian Zhang (SWE) with 100:95. In short: Zhang was the better player over a long period in the match. He committed less mistakes than Bongers and played rock solid while Bongers missed some important and easy shots. But his nerves might have played a trick on him. Being in the lead with 95:72, Zhang found himself with the balls spread open on the table after a break shot but no easy shot in front of him. He carefully examined the layout and went for a tough shot – and missed it. That brought Bongers back to the table. He was about to put a spoke in Zhang’s wheel. At that point in time, one would not have thought that Bongers would be able to keep himself together and run the needed balls. But Bongers surprised the crowd. Ouschan teaches a lesson to Wrobel St. Johann, Austria: In his first match of the Dynamic Billard Austrian Open 2013, Nr. 1 ranked player Albin Ouschan (AUT) outclasses Krzysztof Wrobel (POL) with 9:1. In Formula One, this would have counted as a „start-to-finish“ victory. Ouschan dominated the match from the very beginning. He did not even have to come up with his A-game. After ten racks, the clear result was 9:1 to the Austrian local hero. The key to success for Ouschan’s victory was obviously his break shot and the way he controlled his nerves at the table. While Wrobel seemed to struggle with that, Ouschan played as cold as ice. He succeeded to pocket balls in 80% of his break shots while Wrobel only scored 40% there. One could tell the difference in experience between the two contestants. In his next match on the winner’s side, Ouschan will take on Marek Kudlik, a teammate of Wrobel.
