In the first semi-final, which will break off at 12noon EST(-4 GMT), 18year old Albanian sensation Klenti Kaci will lock horns with Taiwanese sharp shooter Wu Ku Lin. In the second semi-final which begins at 3pm, Finland’s Petri Makkonen will do battle with Filipino veteran and former World 8-ball champion, Dennis Orcollo. In the semi-finals at the US Open in 2016, Taiwan’s Ko Pin Yi looked set to send Shaw packing, only to see the Scotsman roar back at crunch time and win at the wire. A few weeks later in the semis at the Kuwait Open, Shaw did it again, storming back from a 10-6 deficit to oust the Taiwanese great, 11-10, on his way to the winner’s circle. Jayson Shaw (SCO) gewinnt US Open 9 Ball Championships 2017 im Finale gegen Eklent Kaci (ALB) mit 13-4. Den 3. Platz belegt Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz (SPA). Am nächsten Sonntag, den 22. Oktober 2017 beginnt in Norfolk, Virginia die 42. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships. Bis zum 28. Oktober werden bei dem wohl prestigeträchtigsten Pool Billard Turnier in den Vereinigten Staaten ein Großteil der Weltelite um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 200.000$ spielen. Die US Open 9 Ball Championships werden von vielen als die Mutter aller Pool Billard Turniere bezeichnet. Es gibt kaum einen Titel, der auf der Welt mehr Bedeutung hat. Auch in diesem Jahr gehen knapp 160 Teilnehmer als allen Teilen der Welt an den Start. Im Vorjahr gewann Shane Van Boening aus den USA im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 13-9. Der US Superstar sicherte sich damit seinen insgesamt fünften Erfolg bei den US Open. Der Gewinner am 28. Oktober erhält einen Siegerscheck in Höhe von 40.000$. Joshua Filler (GER) gewinnt World 9 Ball China Open 2017 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 11-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Thorsten Hohmann (GER) und Cheng Yu-Hsuan (TW). Bei den Damen gewinnt Chen Siming (CHN) im Finale gegen Liu Shasha (CHN) mit 9-8. Den 3. Platz belegen Fu Xiaofang (CHN) und Chezka Centeno (PHI). Morgen beginnen in Shanghai die World 9 Ball China Open 2017. Die China Open zählen seit Jahren zu den größten Pool Billard Events auf der ganzen Welt. Für die meisten ist dieses Turnier die größtmögliche Herausforderung und der vielleicht größte Titel den man in seiner Karriere gewinnen kann. Nahezu die gesamte Weltelite wird bis zum 11. Juni um diesen begehrten Titel spielen, das Gesamtpreisgeld bei Damen und Herren zusammen beträgt mehr als 370.000$. Titelverteidiger bei den Herren ist Wu Jiaqing aus China, der zweifache Weltmeister gewann im Vorjahr gegen Cheng Yu-Hsuan aus Taiwan mit 11-4. The Malaga man, who now lives near Madrid, had beaten a slew of star names en route to ultimate victory – Ralf Souquet, Shane Van Boening, Albin Ouschan and finally Jayson Shaw. Alcaide was so overcome with emotion at the end that he needed to leave the arena and compose himself before the trophy presentation by The Hon Steven Linares, the Gibraltarian Minister of Sport. The gutsy Spaniard picked up a $20,000 payday and more importantly joins a list all-time greats of the game who have held aloft this coveted trophy. Februar werden 16 der besten Pool Billard Spieler der Welt in der Tercentenary Sports Hall um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 80.000$ spielen. 3rd January – World Pool Masters Full field announced WITH HALF THE 16 man field already announced for the 24th annual World Pool Masters, the remaining eight players can now be named to complete the line-up and make the field one of the strongest in recent years. The event will be taking place from Friday to Sunday 17th – 19th February at the Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar.
