07/04/2016 Souquet over Cohen in 8-ball In the men’s 8-ball competition at the Dynamic Billard European Championships in St. Johann i.Pg., Austria, Ralf Souquet (GER) defeated Stephan Cohen (FRA) with 8:5. It was a duel of two grand masters. Both players are around in the pool circuit for quite some time now and they know each other ver well. Cohen came to the winner’s qualification round by winning 8:7 only over Petr Urban (CZE). Ralf Souquet had the same result in his favor against Marsel Safiullin (RUS). So both players had a hill-hill thriller stuck in their bones from the previous round. They played very carefully and slow in order to not make any mistake that the opponent might have benefitted from. After eight racks, the score was tied at 4:4. 05/04/2016 Fortunski on fire for 10-ball title With a magnificent performance so far, Mieszko Fortunski (POL) ousted Mats Schjetne (NOR) 8:2 from the 10-ball discipline at the Dynamic Billard European Championships in Hotel Alpina, Alpendorf, St. Johann i.Pg., Austria. Big names have fallen today in the men’s division. Favorite players like #1 seeded player Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz are among the victims just like Nick van den Berg (NED), Niels Feijen (NED), Albin Ouschan (AUT), Marcus Chamat (SWE), Mario He (AUT), Mateusz Sniegocki (POL) … just to name a few. But Fortunski is one of the last four men standing in the men’s 10-ball. He defeated Mats Schjetne in the quarter-final match with 8:2, leaving not many chances for Schjetne to take. Fortunski seems to be on fire since his last Euro-Tour victory in March in Treviso and he is definitely counted in as favorite for the title now. 03/04/2016 Dream start at the Dynamic Billard European Championships for team Austria The first Gold Medals have been awarded at this year’s Dynamic Billard European Championships and team Austria had a dream start in any aspect. Both Gold Medals were taken by the Ouschans, Jasmin in the women’s and Albin in the men’s division. Jasmin Ouschan had a tough draw today. In the quarterfinals, she dealt with Anna Mazhirina (RUS) quite clearly with 75:21. Then in the semifinal, she encountered Caroline Roos (SWE). That match started off well for Ouschan. She needed 7 innings in order to finish Roos’ dreams of a final appearance in straight pool this year. 75:32 was the final result for Ouschan. In the final, she met Oliwia Czuprynska (POL) who had beaten Line Kjoersvik (NOR) 75:61 in her semifinal match. However, the final between Ouschan and Czuprynska turned out to become a nightmare for the Polish. She was allowed to the table three times only and never really got a chance to pocket balls. 02/04/2016 Roschkowsky comes up with perfect match The Dynamic Billard European Championships have commenced with the straight pool competition and Andreas Roschkowsky (GER) left a clear mark in terms of going for the title. He won his first round match over Marek Hajdovsky (CZE) in 45 minutes winning 100:0, using only one inning! That is the ultimate start for Roschkowsky and he is definitely a name on the list of the favorites for the title. Other remarkable first round results include Mateusz Sniegocki (POL) winning with 100:69 over Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS). In the winner’s qualification round of men’s straight pool, the winner of the recent Euro-Tour in Italy, Mieszko Fortunski (POL) lost 55:100 to Mats Schjetne (NOR). In the first round of the women’s division, favored Oliwia Czuprynska (POL) remained the upper hand over Ana Gradisnik (SLO), winning her first round match with 75:57. Dynamic Billard European Championships, here we go again!

01/04/2016 Dynamic Billard European Championships, here we go again! The picture seems to be quite familiar. 24 tables are set up in the tennis hall of the Alpina Sports & Wellness Hotel in Alpendorf, St. Johann Pg., Austria. The venue has seen many European Championship and Euro-Tour events so far. Today, the opening ceremony of the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair athletes has taken place in this very venue. Among others, the major of St. Johann Pg., Mr. Guenther Mitterer, the owner of the venue, Mr. Erwin Schwarz and hundreds of players, coaches, referees and officials witnessed the vice-president of the EPBF, Mr. David Morris, opening the event and inviting the guests to a VIP party in the „Eule“ disco aprés ski bar. The fun will end tonight and serious pool action will start early next morning. From tomorrow on, 195 players from 33 European countries will play for the coveted title of the European Champion in the disciplines straight pool, 10-ball, 8-ball, 9-ball and teams.
