Mike Dechaine (USA) gewinnt 1st Annual Gotham City Billiards 9 Ball Pro Classic 2015 im Finale gegen Warren Kiamco (PHI) mit 13-10. Den 3. Platz belegt Jason Klatt (CAN). Am nächsten Samstag fällt in Brooklyn/New York der Startschuss zu einer Reihe von hochkarätigen Pool Billard Turnieren in den USA. Den Anfang macht vom 17. – 19. Oktober das 1st Annual Gotham City Billiards 9 Ball Pro Classic 2015. Einen Titel hat dieses 9 Ball Turnier definitiv schon sicher, nämlich den des längsten Turniernamens 😉 Dieses Pool Billard Turnier im Herzen New Yorks ist mit 64 Teilnehmern hervorragend besetzt und viele Topstars aus den USA, Asien und Europa versuchen hier bereits eine gute Form für die weiteren Aufgaben zu bekommen. Nach diesem Turnier folgen in Midlothian/Virginia die American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship 2015, gefolgt von den US Open 9 Ball Championship 2015. Van Boening Takes #1 Seed 2nd Year in a Row! 32 Players Eliminated at World 14.1 Photos by Charles Eames New York City, NY – The excitement lasted all day on Day 3 conclusion of the round roin with more than half the field eliminated at the Andy Cloth 75th World Tournament of 14.1 . Van Boening once again dominated his group as he did last year, including lopsided wins over Harriman, Fulcher, and Hernandez. Other players also went undefeated, but couldn’t match Shane’s stat of holding all 6 opponents to 111 balls total. A who’s who of world class players are in attendance to etch their name into history’s elite of the father of all pool games. Darren Appleton, Thorsten Hohmann, Stephan Cohen, Shane Van Boening, Johnny Archer, Earl Strickland, Mika Immonen, Tony Robles and many, many more. Thorsten Hohmann (GER) gewinnt The 75th World Tournament of 14.1 2015 im Finale gegen Titelverteidiger Darren Appleton (GBR) mit 300-244. Den 3. Platz belegen Reiner Wirsbitzki (GER) und Warren Kiamco (PHI). Am nächsten Montag startet in New York die 75. Ausgabe des World Tournament of 14.1 (Straight Pool). Vom 13. – 19. Juli 2015 werden im sehr bekannten Steinway Billiards viele der Besten Straight Pool Spieler der Welt an den Start gehen. Dieses von Dragon Promotions organisierte Pool Billard Event zählt zu den letzten wirklich großen 14.1 Veranstaltungen auf der ganzen Welt. Im Grunde ist diese Disziplin ziemlich stark vom Aussterben bedroht, wenn man sich die weltweite Turnierlandschaft anschaut. Irrtümlicherweise wird das World Tournament of 14.1 oft als Weltmeisterschaft bezeichnet. Dafür müsste es von der World Pool Billiard Association unterstützt werden und das Preisgeld eine bestimmte Höhe haben. Natürlich gibt es seitens der WPA noch einige Auflagen mehr, damit dieses 14.1 Turnier als offizielle WM durchgeht. Jayson Shaw (SCO) gewinnt 5th Annual George “Ginky” SanSouci Memorial 2015 im Finale gegen Brian Deska (USA) mit 11-4. Den 3. Platz belegt Earl Strickland (USA). Vom 23. – 25. Mai 2015 findet in Astoria/New York die 5. Ausgabe des George „Ginky“ SanSouci Memorial statt. Dieses Turnier, im Rahmen der Predator Pro/Am Tour, wird auch 2015 dem am 08. März 2011 verstorbenen George SanSouci gewidmet. George SanSouci galt in den USA als einer der letzten echten “Gambler” und war darüber hinaus sehr beliebt bei seinen Pool Billard Kontrahenten und Fans im ganzen Land. Die Zuschauer liebten seine Art zu spielen. Er gehörte zu den talentiertesten Pool Billard Spielern in den USA und war u.a. Derby City Classic 9 Ball Champion des Jahres 2000. Im Alter von nur 39 Jahren verstarb George “Ginky” SanSouci und mit diesem Turnier wird jedes Jahr an einen der außergewöhnlichsten Charaktere der amerikanischen Pool Billard Szene erinnert. Dennis Orcollo (PHI) gewinnt Open 10 Ball Pro Players Championship 2015 im Finale gegen Jayson Shaw (SCO) mit 13-12. Den 3. Platz belegt Shane Van Boening (USA). Eine der größten Billardveranstaltung auf der ganzen Welt startet am 16. April 2015. Die 23. Super Billiards Expo in Oaks, in der nähe von Philadelphia/USA, lockt jedes Jahr Tausende von Besuchern in das Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. Die Super Billiards Expo ist die wohl größte Billardmesse auf der Welt und es wird den Zuschauern eine Menge geboten. Viele der renommiertesten Billard Firmen werden Ihre Produkte präsentieren und selbstverständlich findet man an fast allen Ständen viele der gefragtesten Pool Professionals. Auch der deutsche Queuehersteller Arthur Queue wird in Philadelphia viele seiner erstklassigen Pool Billard Queues ausstellen. Arthur Queue bzw. Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt US Open 9 Ball Championships 2014 im Finale gegen Dennis Orcollo (PHI) mit 13-10. Den 3. Platz belegt Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE). Shane Van Boening gewinnt als erster Spieler in der Geschichte der US Open 9 Ball diesen begehrten Titel dreimal hintereinander. Vom 13. – 18. Oktober 2014 findet die 39. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships statt. Die US Open 9 Ball gelten in der Pool Billard Szene als das wohl prestigeträchtigste Turnier überhaupt. Neben den Weltmeisterschaften sind die US Open 9 Ball das wohl schwierigste Turnier der Welt. Sehr viele internationale Top-Spieler, immer etwas hektische Bedingungen und von der ersten Runde wird auf 11 Gewinnspiele gespielt, das Finale geht bis 13. 2014 Betway World Cup of Pool – England and Holland complete semis line up 27 September Quarter-Finals Holland 9-7 Germany England A 9-7 USA THERE IS certain to be a European winner of the ninth annual Betway World Cup of Pool as England A – Darren Appleton and Karl Boyes – put paid to Team USA in a tense quarter-final encounter at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. The momentum ebbed and flowed as the English duo coasted into a 7-2 lead as the American pairing of Earl Strickland and Shane Van Boening looked patchy as they struggled to find a rhythm. That soon changed as the English grip on the match slipped away and at 7-7 the match was anyone’s. 2014 Betway World Cup of Pool – England B through as US and Philippines make quarters 25 September Round 1 England B 7 – 6 India Round 2 Philippines 7 – 5 France USA 7 – 5 Russia ENGLAND B completed the list of round one victors at the 2014 Betway World Cup of Pool as they squeezed past India at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth on Thursday evening. There were also second round wins for the Philippines and USA who both take their place in Saturday’s quarter-final draw. In probably the most entertaining match of the tournament so far, the England B side of Chris Melling and Daryl Peach put paid to Indian hopes by the odd rack in 13 to give themselves a second round match-up against China. The Indian duo of Raj Hundal and Amar Kang were making their fourth appearance in the event as a pair and both sides looked in good shape. 2014 Betway World Cup of Pool – Dutch, US & England A go through 24 September Holland 7 – 3 Sweden USA 7 – 2 Croatia England A 7 – 6 Spain THREE of the big guns of the sport enjoyed victories at the Betway World Cup of Pool as the first round continued at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth. Holland, USA and England A all had wins and will take their place in the second round. Home team England A – Darren Appleton and Karl Boyes – had a huge scare as they nearly succumbed to Spain, scraping through in the deciding rack of the match. Spain had taken a 5-3 lead in front of a lively crowd but the English levelled it at 5-5. Francisco Diaz for Spain, though, played a daring 4/9 combination which put the Spaniards on the hill. His partner David Alcaide just couldn’t get the requisite number of balls over the head string and control of the table passed back to the English. It was a lifeline that they gratefully […]
