16th February – Final line-up announced at Dafabet World Pool Masters Immonen and Cheng are last minute subs WITH TWO last minute drop outs due to visa issues, Matchroom Sport can announce the final line-up of the 24th Dafabet World Pool Masters, which gets underway tomorrow Friday, February 17 concluding on Sunday. Cheng Yu Hsuan aka Kevin Cheng (Chinese Taipei), the 2015 US Open Champion, steps in to replace Wu Jiaqing (China) while Hall of Famer Mika Immonen of Finland comes in for Lee Vann Corteza. Taking place at the Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar, the Masters sees 16 top international players competing in the shadow of the Rock of Gibraltar to determine the destination of the $20,000 top prize. David Alcaide (SPA) gewinnt 2017 dafabet World Pool Masters im Finale gegen Jayson Shaw (SCO) mit 8-7. Den 3. Platz belegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) und Albin Ouschan (AUT). Ab dem kommenden Freitag, den 17. Februar 2017 wird in Gibraltar die 24. Ausgabe des World Pool Masters ausgetragen. Bis zum Sonntag, den 19. Februar werden 16 der besten Pool Billard Spieler der Welt in der Tercentenary Sports Hall um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 80.000$ spielen. Der Gewinner bei diesem von Matchroom Sport organisierten Top-Event kassiert 20.000$. In den letzten beiden Jahren war es US Superstar Shane Van Boening der in sehr überzeugender Manier das World Pool Masters für sich entschieden hat. 2017 Mosconi Cup – First Euro ranking events announced

20th January – 2017 Mosconi Cup First Euro ranking events announced MATCHROOM SPORT can announce that the following events will be included in the ranking system for Team Europe selection for the Mosconi Cup XXIV which takes place at the Tropicana in Las Vegas from 4th to 7th December 2017. Similar to last year, there will be three levels of points. Level One will comprise ‘World’ events and similar large tournaments; Level Two will comprise mainly Euro Tour events and Level Three will comprise several smaller events. 16th January – World Pool Masters Draw and schedule announced WITH THE 2017 World Pool Masters set to get underway in Gibraltar on Friday 17th February, the draw as well as the schedule of play has been announced. With 16 of the best players from around the world competing in the 24th running of the Masters, there are some exciting match-ups in prospect. Defending champion Shane Van Boening (USA) gets his campaign underway against emerging Spanish star Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, whilst current World No.1 Chang Jung Lin of Taiwan faces a tough test in England’s Mark Gray. Elsewhere, 2004 World Pool Champion Alex Pagulayan of Canada will be awaiting the winner of a qualification event in Gibraltar for local players, while current World 9 Ball Champion, Albin Ouschan (Austria) faces off against Filipino legend Francisco Bustamante, a two-time Masters champion back in 1998 and 2001. 22nd December Mark Wilson stands down as United States captain FOLLOWING THREE YEARS at the helm of the USA Mosconi Cup side, Mark Wilson has stood down as captain after the recent heavy defeat at the Alexandra Palace, London. Wilson was appointed in January 2014 following a run of defeats and was in charge of all team affairs for the next three Mosconi Cups, all of which resulted in losses. 20th December – Masters tickets now on sale WITH THE 24th ANNUAL WORLD POOL MASTERS taking place from Friday to Sunday 17th – 19th February at the Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar, Matchroom Sport can announce that tickets for the event are now on sale. With five sessions of play in total, all tickets are available from https://www.buytickets.gi/events/world-pool-masters-2017-87 Tickets are priced at £15 for the Friday evening and both afternoon sessions and £20 for Saturday and Sunday evening sessions. An all-session season ticket is £75. With a field of 16 of the world’s top pool shooters coming to Gibraltar to chase the $20,000 top prize, eight of the stars competing can be named today. Mosconi Cup XXIII – Team Europe Confirmed

9th November – 2016 Mosconi Cup Europe team set for Ally Pally fireworks JAYSON SHAW closed out a memorable qualifying campaign for this year’s Mosconi Cup as he won the final event – the Kuwait Open 9 Ball – to win both the Combined and World ranking lists. That gave the US-based Scot his first ever Mosconi Cup start and he will enter the fray on a wave of confidence. With Niels Feijen having taken the Euro ranking list spot, it meant that the final automatic berth on Team Europe reverted to the Combined list, and it was England’s Mark Gray who took it to make his third Mosconi Cup appearance, eight years after his debut in Malta.
