2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup – Appleton rates Team USA

1st December – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Dynamite rates the Americans: „We’ll give them 110% respect“ ENGLAND’S DARREN APPLETON has a unique perspective with which to size up the American forces gathered to contest the 22nd annual PartyPoker Mosconi Cup which breaks off at the Tropicana in Las Vegas on Monday 7th December. The five-time MC winner lives in Allentown, Pennsylvania and plies his trade across the USA as well as around the world in major events. ‘Dynamite’ feels he has the inside track, a position which he is making the maximum use of; “They’re a good balanced team; a combination of youth and experience. Luckily for me I live in States so I know all their games really well and that really helps me give information to captain Marcus Chamat and the rest of European team.” Appleton took time out from his Mosconi Cup preparation to give us the low down on the five men lining up in the opposite corner for the 22nd annual transatlantic showdown. 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup – Steve Davis: 2002: „One of the best moments of my career!“

28th November – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Steve Davis: 2002: „One of the best moments of my career!“ He is best known around the world as one of snooker’s greatest ever players, but Steve Davis also has quite a history with the Mosconi Cup. Having played in each of the first 11 Mosconi Cups from 1994, ‘The Nugget’ was a stalwart of the early years of pool’s greatest competition and describes his first victory as “one of the highlights of my career – regardless that it wasn’t even my career.” Unlike in recent times, Team USA dominated the first decade of the Mosconi Cup. Having lost the inaugural event, Europe hit back in 1995 with a 16-15 victory in Romford. But they had to wait seven years to lift the famous trophy again. In 2002 they were 12-9 winners, responding in style to the 12-1 humiliation dished out by an all-star American side in which a 25-year-old Corey Deuel was the MVP. The 2002 Mosconi Cup victory is one of Davis’ proudest moments, and something […]

And it now sets him up for his fourth PartyPoker Mosconi Cup appearance next month. With Albin Ouschan topping both World and Combined Rankings after a magnificent second half of the year, and Niels Feijen winning the Euro Tour Ranking, the selection of the third spot reverted to the Combined Ranking.
