23/03/2016 Europe Announces 2016 Atlantic Challenge Cup Team The European Pocket Billiard Federation today announced its team to face the Americans during this year’s staging of the Atlantic Challenge Cup taking place July 8 – 11, 2016 in Schaumburg, Illinois (just outside Chicago). “After the Europeans’ success during the 2015 inaugural Atlantic Challenge Cup, the Americans will have home soil advantage and will want revenge,” said David Morris, International Billiard Promotion Foundation president. “With that in mind, the Europeans have assembled a strong line up of players who have won at the highest level just to qualify for this year’s team.” First onto the team comes Krystian Cwikla. It was the European gold in the 9-ball U19 division which ensured Poland’s top youth player a spot on the team. Poland’s Patryk Statkiewicz was part of last year’s winning team and will be able to offer Krystian plenty of advice on what to expect in Chicago. Team Europa gewinnt Atlantic Challenge Cup 2015 gegen Team USA mit 11-9. Vom 01. – 04. Juli 2015 findet in Rankweil/Österreich die erste Ausgabe des Atlantic Challenge Cup 2015 statt. Das große Vorbild dieser Veranstaltung ist der von Matchroom Sport organisierte Mosconi Cup. Der Mosconi Cup gehört zu den Top Pool Billard Veranstaltungen des Jahres und überzeugt durch sein Format, die Stimmung und den Kampf zwischen den USA und Europa. Der Atlantic Challenge Cup 2015 ist ein Team Pool Billard Event, an dem die besten Junioren aus den USA und einige der besten Junioren aus Europa teilnehmen werden. Die Teams der USA und Europas bestehen jeweils aus 6 Spielern. Für die USA werden bei diesem Pool Billard Vergleichskampf Tyler Brandom, Nick Evans, Joshua Franklin, Drake Niepoetter, Taylor Hansen und April Larson an den Start gehen. Sicherlich sind die Namen dieser Auswahl den meisten relativ unbekannt. Team Europe Announces Player Change For Atlantic Challenge Cup

12/05/2015 The EPBF were recently informed by its member, the German Billiard Union (DBU) that they regrettably have to withdraw a player from the team. The player withdrawn is Germany’s rising star, Joshua Filler. In his place, comes a strong young competitor from Poland, Patryk Statkiewicz who lost in the final of the 9-ball to his now teammate, Raphael Wahl. Poland has a good young crop of players, they are known for producing great talent and Patryk will add a lot to this team with his inclusion. Team Europe will meet team USA in what will be a fabulous event full of action and drama. These two great Continents going head to head over a four day bonanza, starting on the 1st of July. It’s a team match-up over a possible race of 21. The team winning 11 matches will be crowned Atlantic Challenge Cup Champions come Saturday the 4th of July. Four medals for Team Europe and a chance for a title 18/11/2014 The two remaining European players on the loser’s side in this year’s World 9-Ball Championships for Youth in Shanghai, China, were Raphael Wahl (GER) and Patryk Statkiewicz (POL). Wahl met S. Myanganbayer (MON) in the loser’s qualification round. It was a one-sided match in favor of the German and even with a few mistakes committed, Wahl easily took the match with 9:3. Statkiewicz had a tougher opponent to face. Hsu Jui An (TPE) also wanted a spot in the single elimination stage of the event. The match was a tough battle between the two players. After 13 racks, the score was 7:6 in favor of Hsu. It was Statkiewicz’s break then. Both players seemed to be nervous and played bad shots. Hsu was able to win that rack and got on the hill with 8:6. Dynamic Billard European Youth Championships ended The Dynamic European Championships – Youth, Seniors & Ladies Portoroz, Slovenia – 1-16 aug 2014 08/08/2014 The 2014 Dynamic Billard European Championships Youth have come to an end. Today, two more disciplines were decided. Earlier today, the 9-ball individuals were finished. Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL), Sanjin Pehlivanovic (BIH) and Raphael Wahl (GER) took the crown in the 9-ball. It was the second Gold Medal for Khodjaeva and Wahl this week. Khodjaeva defeated Marharyta Fefilava (BLR) in the final match with 6:3. The Silver Medal is a great achievement for the young lady from Belarus. However, Khodjaeva was too strong for her today. High quality matches in juniors and pupils straight pool on day 1 The Dynamic European Championships – Youth, Seniors & Ladies Portoroz, Slovenia – 1-16 aug 2014 01/08/2014 In the juniors division, last year’s most successful player Joshua Filler (GER) played for the first time just coming out of the pupils. His play was as strong as it used to be. The young German who also participates in the men’s Euro-Tour at times won all his matches today with clear results. He defeated Patryk Statkiewicz (POL) 100:28, Andreas Madsen (DEN) 100:47, Klemen Gradisnik (SLO) 100:44 and in the quarter-final match Pawel Kaczmarek (POL) 100:26 even. He will meet Tian Zhang (SWE) in tomorrow’s semi-final at 17:30 CET. Zhang surprisingly ousted Raphael Wahl (GER) in his quarter-final match with 100:82. The second semi-final will be played between Spasian Spasov (BUL) and Daniel Tangudd (SWE). In that match, Tangudd definitely is the player who could be regarded as the favorite.
