First Qualifiers for the World 14.1: New York, California, Chicago 76th World 14.1 September 5-11, 2016 New York City, Steinway Billiards New York City– The first 3 official qualifiers for the 76th World 14.1 has been announced. NYC’s NAPL National Amateur Pool League, Easy Street Billiards in California, and Red Shoe Billiards in Chicago will kickoff the first half of the qualifier series. All three locations have previously held World 14.1 qualifiers before, which proves their success in growing the interest of straight pool in their respective areas. 2016 will mark the 11th consecutive year the World Tournament of 14.1 will be staged. This is the longest consecutive run of the championship ever in its 104 year history with Dragon Promotions continuing production of the world’s oldest billiards event. This year’s confirmed dates for the 76th WorldTournament of 14.1 will take place on September 5th-11th,2016. Am Samstag, den 02. April 2016 beginnen in St. Johann/Österreich die Pool Billard Europameisterschaften der Damen, Herren und Rollstuhlfahrer. Bis zum 12. April werden sich im Alpina Sport Hotel viele europäische Topstars der Szene um die Medaillen streiten. Wie immer fehlen bei den Europameisterschaften einige der bekanntesten Spieler aus einigen Nationen. Dennoch kann sich die Teilnehmerliste mehr als sehen lassen und es werden sicherlich viele spannenden Matches zustande kommen. Das deutsche Team 2016 wird mit folgenden Spielern in St. Johann ins Rennen gehen. Bei den Herren sind es Kevin Becker, Joshua Filler, Andreas Roschkowsky, Ralf Souquet, Sebastian Staab, Sebastian Ludwig und Geronimo Weißenberger. Bei den Damen werden Kristina Grim, Veronika Ivanovskaia, Ina Kaplan, Vivien Schade, Melanie Süßenguth und Jennifer Vietz für Deutschland auf Medaillenjagd gehen und als einziger Rollstuhlfahrer ist Joachim Schuler dabei. Dieses Pool Billard Event geht über 10 Tage, es startet an den ersten Tagen mit dem 14.1 Wettbewerb und endet am 12. April mit den Finalspielen im 9 Ball in allen drei Kategorien. Report: American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship 2015

American 14.1 was held once again at Diamond Billiards, Midlothian, VA Oct 22-25 with a sterling field of many of the world’s strongest Straight Pool players. A total of 40 players began the opening two days Round Robin of 8 balanced flights of five players each, playing four matches with the top three of each flight advancing to the final two days Single Elimination. The first attached is result for the Round Robin with the 24 players advancing to the final two days Single Elim. listed in bold. As expected all 8 of the A seeded players advanced, along with 4 of the B players. This result was not unexpected as the flights were very balanced with many strong players in the BCDE tier. The elimination round was again seeded based on W-L and ball differential as shown on the 2nd attached. Four of the finest 14.1 players in the world advanced to the semi-final round. Darren Appleton (GBR) gewinnt American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship 2015 im Finale gegen Thorsten Hohmann (GER) mit 150-94. Den 3. Platz belegen Mika Immonen (FIN) und Warren Kiamco (PHI). Kurz vor den US Open 9 Ball Championship 2015 machen einige der besten Pool Billard Spieler noch einen kurzen Stop in Midlothian/Virginia, um sich weitere Wettkampfpraxis für eines der größten Turniere der Welt zu holen. Die American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship 2015 sind die letzte Möglichkeit vom 22. – 25. Oktober 2015 an der Form zu arbeiten. Bereits im letzten Jahr war dieses Turnier sehr gut besucht. Doch in diesem Jahr ist der Termin auch für viele andere Pros aus der ganzen Welt ziemlich gut platziert. Darren Appleton (GBR) gewann 2014 das Finale gegen die Überraschungsfinalistin Karen Corr aus Irland. Sie hat im letzten Jahr vielen Topspielern das Fürchten gelehrt und zurecht das Finale erreicht. Dieses gewann Darren Appleton dann aber recht deutlich mit 150-28. Austragungsort ist das Diamond Billiards in Midlothian und das Preisgeld beträgt 25.000$, davon gehen 5.000$ an den Sieger der American 14.1 […]

In a re-match of 2013, the two best players with the best records in the event faced off for a second finals within 3 years. The Andy Cloth 75th World Tournament of 14.1 featured a who’s who of world class players in attendance to etch their name into history’s elite of the father of all pool games.
