European Championships 2015 – Men, Women & WheelChair

Am Sonntag, den 12. April beginnen in Vale do Lobo/Portugal die diesjährigen Pool Billard Europameisterschaften der Damen, Herren und Rollstuhlfahrer. Bis zum 22. April 2015 werden in Portugal die Europameister der Disziplinen 8 Ball, 9 Ball, 14.1, 10 Ball und Team gesucht. Insgesamt gehen mehr als 180 Pool Billard Spieler aus 36 Nationen im sehr schönen Ria Park Hotel in Vale do Lobo an den Start. Natürlich wird auch dieses Jahr von fast allen Teilnehmern einiges abverlangt. In 10 Tagen werden in allen Disziplinen die Medaillen ausgespielt und der Turnierplan ist ziemlich üppig gestaltet. Über den Sinn und Unsinn dieses Ablaufs bei einer Europameisterschaft wurde bereits viel diskutiert. Die meisten Topspieler tendieren zu deutlich weniger Disziplinen und zu einem Zweijahresrhythmus. Das hätte u. a. den Vorteil das ein Europameister weitaus mehr Chancen hätte seinen Titel „auszukosten“ und gewinnbringend zu vermarkten. Wer weiß, vielleicht wird ja bereits innerhalb der EPBF darüber diskutiert und wir werden in den nächsten Jahren ein Umdenken erleben. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt Italian Open 2015 im Finale gegen Nick Malaj (GRE) mit 9-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Karl Boyes (GBR) und Mario He (AUT). Die Euro-Tour startet in das Jahr 2015 mit ihrem ersten Tour-Stop in Treviso. Die Italian Open 2015 finden vom 26. – 28. Februar im BHR Hotel in Treviso statt. Dieser Spieltort war bereits beim letzten Euro-Tour Event im Dezember Austragungsort und wird von der EPBF immer wieder gerne ausgesucht. Die Treviso Open 2014 gewann der derzeitige Leader im Euro-Tour Ranking Nick van den Berg (NED) im Finale gegen den amtierenden 9 Ball Weltmeister Niels Feijen (NED) mit 9-3. Nick van den Berg konnte damit bereits seinen neunten Euro-Tour Sieg feiern und liegt in dieser Bestenliste bereits auf Platz 4. Für die Italian Open 2015 haben bereits jetzt mehr als 150 Pool Billard Spieler aus ganz Europa gemeldet. Nick van den Berg (NED) gewinnt Treviso Open 2014 im Finale gegen Niels Feijen (NED) mit 9-3. Den 3. Platz belegen Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz (ESP) und Kevin Becker (GER). Der letzte Euro-Tour Stop des Jahres findet in dieser Woche vom 11. – 13. Dezember 2014 statt. Das BHR Hotel in Treviso war in den letzten 12 Monaten öfters Austragungsort einer Euro-Tour. Die letzte Auflage der Treviso Open im Jahre 2013 gewann Nick van den Berg (NED) im Finale gegen Phil Burford (GBR) mit 8-5. Auch bei den Treviso Open 2014 zählt der im Euro-Tour Ranking führende Nick van den Berg zu den ganz heißen Favoriten auf den Sieg in der nähe von Venedig. Bei den Treviso Open 2014 sind bislang mehr als 140 Teilnehmer aus ganz Europa gemeldet. 2014 PartyPoker World Pool Masters – Mosconi Brits hit form 15th November – 2014 PartyPoker World Pool Masters Round One Karl Boyes (ENG) 8-1 Waleed Majid (QAT) Mark Gray (ENG) 8-4 Mika Immonen (FIN) Quarter Finals Karol Skowerski (POL) 8-3 Daniele Corrieri (ITA) THERE WAS double delight in Nottingham for England’s Mosconi Cup contingent as Karl Boyes and then Mark Gray won through their first round matches at the 2014 PartyPoker World Pool Masters at the Portland Centre. They now complete the quarter-final line up, the first match of which was won by Karol Skowerski who is through to the last four on Sunday evening. Boyes made light work of Qatari hopeful Waleed Majid, winning 8-1 in just 45 minutes as he put on a break and run clinic to leave his opponent rooted in his chair. Van Boening, who returns to the UK in two weeks for his eighth Mosconi Cup appearance, looked to be in the driving seat as he free-wheeled through the racks in the winner breaks format to reach the hill at 7-1. Das nächste Pool Billard Highlight des Jahres findet am kommenden Wochenende vom 14. – 16. November 2014 im Portland Centre in Nottingham/GBR statt. Auch dieses Jahr bringt Matchroom Sport beim 2014 PartyPoker World Pool Masters wieder 16 der besten Spieler der Welt an den Tisch und wird wie gewohnt für ein Event der Extraklasse sorgen. Oktober 2014 finden in Leende bei Eindhoven die Dutch Open 2014 statt. Einen Tag früher als gewohnt beginnt dieser Euro-Tour Stop bereits an einem Mittwoch. Es stehen im Hotel Golden Tulip Jagershorst lediglich elf Pool Billard Tische zur Verfügung, das zwingt die EPBF (European Pocket Billiard Federation) dazu einen Tag früher mit den ersten Runden zu beginnen. Dieser Euro-Tour Stop hat bereits jetzt mehr als 150 Teilnehmer und den größten Anteil mit knapp 30 Spielern stellen natürlich die Niederländer um 9 Ball Weltmeister Niels Feijen und dem führenden im Euro-Tour Ranking Nick van den Berg.
