Admittedly low on confidence, Karl Boyes and Mark Gray burst out of the gates of the World Pool Series’ RYO Rack Classic in New York. Generally when you have the best pool talent in the world under one roof for four days, the answer is usually a resounding no. But sometimes in pool, those that have the least expectations can do the most damage, especially players that have entered the winner’s circle more than a few times in their career. Take Englishmen Mark Gray and Karl Boyes. The two Brits arrived in New York City for the third leg of the World Pool Series, The Ryo Rack Classic Championship, admittedly in the dumps. Austria 10-6 USA AUSTRIA HAVE WON the 2017 12BET World Cup of Pool as the duo of Mario He and Albion Ouschan secured the title against Team USA, who had their moments but ultimately could not contain the Austrians. Winning the prestigious scotch doubles title for the first time, the Austrians secured the magnificent trophy, gold medals as well as $60,000 to split. Although disappointed, Shane Van Boening and Skyler Woodward can console themselves with a cheque for $30,000 and the added bonus of playing so well as a team ahead of the 2017 Mosconi Cup in December. Earlier in the day both teams had assumed the underdog role in their semi-finals but won through, with Austria beating China and the USA getting the better of Chinese Taipei. 18th June – 2017 12BET World Cup of Pool It’s USA v Austria for the big one USA 9-4 Chinese Taipei Austria 9-1 China IT WILL BE USA v AUSTRIA who contest the final of the 2017 12BET World Cup of Pool as they both scored surprisingly straightforward wins against top opposition inside a sweltering York Hall on Sunday afternoon. With a $60,000 prize awaiting the champions and it will be Austria’s first final in the event’s 12-year history. The USA on the other hand have reached the final twice, losing to the Philippines in the event’s inaugural year – 2006 – and then winning two years later in Rotterdam with Shane Van Boening and Rodney Morris making up the victorious team. 2017 Mosconi Cup European Rankings – Filler breaks through in China to go top

18th June – 2017 Mosconi Cup Filler breaks through in China to go top JOSHUA FILLER, the 19-year-old from Germany, stunned the pool world as he took the China Open beating a string of world-class opponents in Shanghai. It was the youngster’s breakout victory and sends him soaring to the top of the Mosconi Cup Team Europe World ranking. Filler collected a massive 80 points for his victory and there were nine other Europeans in the points including semi-finalist Thorsten Hohmann who bagged 53. With the previous four events counting for both European and World Rankings, the European ranking stays the same. Taking place from Monday 4th to Thursday 7th December, the 2017 Mosconi Cup will take place at the prestigious Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. Joshua Filler (GER) gewinnt World 9 Ball China Open 2017 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 11-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Thorsten Hohmann (GER) und Cheng Yu-Hsuan (TW). Bei den Damen gewinnt Chen Siming (CHN) im Finale gegen Liu Shasha (CHN) mit 9-8. Den 3. Platz belegen Fu Xiaofang (CHN) und Chezka Centeno (PHI). Morgen beginnen in Shanghai die World 9 Ball China Open 2017. Die China Open zählen seit Jahren zu den größten Pool Billard Events auf der ganzen Welt. Für die meisten ist dieses Turnier die größtmögliche Herausforderung und der vielleicht größte Titel den man in seiner Karriere gewinnen kann. Nahezu die gesamte Weltelite wird bis zum 11. Juni um diesen begehrten Titel spielen, das Gesamtpreisgeld bei Damen und Herren zusammen beträgt mehr als 370.000$. Titelverteidiger bei den Herren ist Wu Jiaqing aus China, der zweifache Weltmeister gewann im Vorjahr gegen Cheng Yu-Hsuan aus Taiwan mit 11-4. 22nd May – 2017 Mosconi Cup He wins as VDB goes top Nick van den Berg leapfrogged Ralf Souquet to take pole position on the European Mosconi Cup rankings after the Eurotour Austrian Open. Van den Berg collected 23 points for reaching the last eight of the tournament, where he fell to eventual finalist Francisco Sanchez Ruiz of Spain. Mario He rises to fourth after collecting the title. Albin Ouschan, MVP at last year’s Mosconi Cup, climbs into the top ten as a beaten semi-finalist while the other defeated semi-finalist, Joshua Filler, moves up two places to eighth.
