2017 World Pool Masters – Field announced

3rd January – World Pool Masters Full field announced WITH HALF THE 16 man field already announced for the 24th annual World Pool Masters, the remaining eight players can now be named to complete the line-up and make the field one of the strongest in recent years. The event will be taking place from Friday to Sunday 17th – 19th February at the Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar. They are: Albin Ouschan (Austria) – current WPA World 9 Ball Champion, two-time Mosconi Cup winner and World No.8 Alex Pagulayan (Canada) – former World 9 Ball and US Open Champion and current World No.5 Chang Jung Lin (Taiwan) – current World No.2 and former World 8 Ball Champion Wu Jiaqing (China) – 2005 World 9 Ball and World 8 Ball Champion and current World No.5 Wojciech Szewczyk (Poland) – Former World Cup of Pool finalist and current European No.6 Francisco Sanchez Ruiz (Spain) – Current European No. 10 Omar Al Shaheen (Kuwait) – Highest ranked Middle-Eastern player in the world. 2017 World Pool Masters – Tickets now on sale

20th December – Masters tickets now on sale WITH THE 24th ANNUAL WORLD POOL MASTERS taking place from Friday to Sunday 17th – 19th February at the Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar, Matchroom Sport can announce that tickets for the event are now on sale. With five sessions of play in total, all tickets are available from https://www.buytickets.gi/events/world-pool-masters-2017-87 Tickets are priced at £15 for the Friday evening and both afternoon sessions and £20 for Saturday and Sunday evening sessions. An all-session season ticket is £75. With a field of 16 of the world’s top pool shooters coming to Gibraltar to chase the $20,000 top prize, eight of the stars competing can be named today. They include the defending champion on the hunt for three Masters titles in a row – Shane Van Boening of the USA. 9th December – 2016 Betfair Mosconi Cup Europe 11 – 3 USA Jayson Shaw 5 – 1 Mike Dechaine THE EUROPEANS needed just one match to retain the 2016 Betfair Mosconi Cup as Jayson Shaw had the honour of potting the winning 9 ball as he eased past Mike Dechaine 5-1 to spark wild celebrations at the Alexandra Palace. Team Europe entered the fray carrying a 10-3 lead after dominating the first three days of the competition and they delivered a crushing defeat to an American side that looked out of their depth at times in front of a very vocal 2,000 strong crowd. Shaw, who came into the event on the back of a run of brilliant form, never looked too comfortable over the first three days. However, he came with some terrific shots to banish Dechaine to the sidelines and secure the European’s seventh consecutive victory. It was the worst possible start to the event for the Americans who have not won the Mosconi Cup since 2009. MVP der Veranstaltung wurde der amtierende 9 Ball Weltmeister Albin Ouschan aus Österreich. Am kommenden Dienstag, den 06. Dezember beginnt in London das aufregendste Pool Billard Event des Jahres. Bis zum darauffolgenden Freitag, den 09. Dezember wird der Mosconi Cup 2016 auch in diesem Jahr alle Pool Billard Fans auf der Welt in zwei Lager spalten. Dieser Kontinentalvergleich zwischen einem Team aus Europa und den USA geht in seine 23. Ausgabe und findet dieses Jahr im Alexandra Palace statt. Der Austragungsort ist u.a. auch bekannt durch die jährlich stattfindenden Darts WM. 9th November – 2016 Mosconi Cup Europe team set for Ally Pally fireworks JAYSON SHAW closed out a memorable qualifying campaign for this year’s Mosconi Cup as he won the final event – the Kuwait Open 9 Ball – to win both the Combined and World ranking lists. That gave the US-based Scot his first ever Mosconi Cup start and he will enter the fray on a wave of confidence. With Niels Feijen having taken the Euro ranking list spot, it meant that the final automatic berth on Team Europe reverted to the Combined list, and it was England’s Mark Gray who took it to make his third Mosconi Cup appearance, eight years after his debut in Malta. 2016 Mosconi Cup – All to play for at Kuwait 9 Ball

28th October – 2016 Mosconi Cup All to play for in Kuwait WITH TEAM USA’s final selection being a straight shoot-out with three players contesting two spots, the European picture is far more complicated with the ‘World’ and ‘Combined’ list reaching their conclusion at next week’s Kuwait 9 Ball Championship. With Holland’s Niels Feijen already in the team after he topped the ‘Euro’ list earlier in the month, there are several players in contention for the final two coveted Mosconi Cup spots. Mosconi Cup XXIII takes place at London’s Alexandra Palace from Tuesday to Friday 6th- 9th December and features two five-man teams representing America and Europe. Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt US Open 9 Ball Championships 2016 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TPE) mit 13-9 und sichert sich damit seinen insgesamt fünften Titel bei diesem Turnier. Den 3. Platz belegt Jayson Shaw (SCO). Am nächsten Sonntag, den 16. Oktober 2016 beginnt in Norfolk, Virginia die 40. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships. Bis zum 22. Oktober werden bei dem wohl prestigeträchtigsten Pool Billard Turnier in den Vereinigten Staaten ein Großteil der Weltelite um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 200.000$ spielen. Die US Open 9 Ball Championships werden von vielen als die Mutter aller Pool Billard Turniere bezeichnet. Es gibt kaum einen Titel, der auf der Welt mehr Bedeutung hat. Auch in diesem Jahr gehen 160 Teilnehmer als allen Teilen der Welt an den Start.
