Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS) gewinnt 2017 World Pool Series: 1st Series im Finale gegen Lee Vann Corteza (PHI) mit 16-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Johann Chua (PHI) und Darren Appleton (GBR). Am kommenden Samstag, den 14. Januar 2017 startet in New York das erste Event der neugegründeten World Pool Series. Die World Pool Series wurde vom ehemaligen 9 Ball Weltmeister und US Open 9 Ball Champion Darren Appleton aus Großbritannien ins Leben gerufen. Darren Appleton und sein Team haben den Anspruch formuliert Pool Billard in den Staaten wieder ein wenig Professioneller zu gestalten und legen den Fokus deutlich auf erhöhte Ausspielziele, ein ganz gutes Preisgeld sowie u.a. einige Anpassungen in Form eines Shoot-Out’s bei Gleichstand. Auch der Gebrauch des Jump-Shots wird deutlich eingeschränkt, pro Partie darf jeder Spieler lediglich zweimal zum Jump Queue greifen, sehr interessant wie wir finden. 3rd January – World Pool Masters Full field announced WITH HALF THE 16 man field already announced for the 24th annual World Pool Masters, the remaining eight players can now be named to complete the line-up and make the field one of the strongest in recent years. The event will be taking place from Friday to Sunday 17th – 19th February at the Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar. 20th December – Masters tickets now on sale WITH THE 24th ANNUAL WORLD POOL MASTERS taking place from Friday to Sunday 17th – 19th February at the Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar, Matchroom Sport can announce that tickets for the event are now on sale. With five sessions of play in total, all tickets are available from https://www.buytickets.gi/events/world-pool-masters-2017-87 Tickets are priced at £15 for the Friday evening and both afternoon sessions and £20 for Saturday and Sunday evening sessions. An all-session season ticket is £75. With a field of 16 of the world’s top pool shooters coming to Gibraltar to chase the $20,000 top prize, eight of the stars competing can be named today. They include the defending champion on the hunt for three Masters titles in a row – Shane Van Boening of the USA. Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt US Open 9 Ball Championships 2016 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TPE) mit 13-9 und sichert sich damit seinen insgesamt fünften Titel bei diesem Turnier. Den 3. Platz belegt Jayson Shaw (SCO). Am nächsten Sonntag, den 16. Oktober 2016 beginnt in Norfolk, Virginia die 40. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships. Bis zum 22. Oktober werden bei dem wohl prestigeträchtigsten Pool Billard Turnier in den Vereinigten Staaten ein Großteil der Weltelite um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 200.000$ spielen. Die US Open 9 Ball Championships werden von vielen als die Mutter aller Pool Billard Turniere bezeichnet. Es gibt kaum einen Titel, der auf der Welt mehr Bedeutung hat. Auch in diesem Jahr gehen 160 Teilnehmer als allen Teilen der Welt an den Start. Im Vorjahr gewann Cheng Yu-Hsuan aus Taiwan im Finale gegen Karl Boyes (GBR) mit 13-6 –> US Open 9 Ball Championships 2015. Der Gewinner am 22. Oktober erhält einen Siegerscheck in Höhe von 50.000$. Wu Jiaqing (CHN) gewinnt World 9 Ball China Open 2016 im Finale gegen Cheng Yu-Hsuan (TPE) mit 11-4. Den 3. Platz belegen Wu Kun-Lin (TPE) und Ko Pin-Yi (TPE). Bei den Damen gewinnt Yu Han (CHN) im Finale gegen Liu Shasha (CHN) mit 9-8. Den 3. Platz belegen Wang Xiao-Tong (CHN) und Chen Xue (CHN). Am kommenden Sonntag, den 21. August werden in Shanghai/China die World 9 Ball China Open 2016 eröffnet. Bis zum 28. August wird bei den China Open so ziemlich alles was Rang und Namen hat, in der weltweiten Pool Billard Szene, am Start sein. Dieses Turnier zählt zu den größten Herausforderungen eines jeden Pool Billard Spielers. Kaum ein Turnier ist weder bei Damen und Herren besser besetzt als dieses. Es gibt viele Spieler die der Meinung sind das die China Open einen höheren Stellenwert haben als eine Weltmeisterschaft. Albin Ouschan (AUT) gewinnt 2016 WPA World 9 Ball Championship im Finale gegen Shane Van Boening (USA) mit 13-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Alex Pagulayan (CAN) und Hsuan Yu-Cheng (TPE). Am nächsten Montag, den 25. Juli 2016 starten in Doha/Katar die WPA 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaften. Dieser Titel ist nach wie vor der wichtigste im Welt Pool Billard und für jeden Spieler die größte Herausforderung. Nicht nur das extrem starke Teilnehmerfeld, sondern auch die besonderen Umstände tragen dazu bei. Die hohen Außentemperaturen und der stark klimatisierte Spielort, der Al Arabi Sports Club, sind für viele Spieler kaum zu beherrschen. Im letzten Jahr gewann Ko Pin-Yi aus Taiwan diesen Titel im Finale gegen Shane Van Boening aus den USA. Im Finale 2015 wurde erneut deutlich das leider nicht immer der bessere Spieler gewinnt. Shane Van Boening spielte ein überragendes Turnier und dominierte selbst die stärksten Konkurrenten nach Belieben. Johann Chua (PHI) gewinnt 48th All Japan Championship 2015 im Finale gegen Ronnie Alcano (PHI) mit 11-7. Den 3. Platz belegen Shane Van Boening (USA) und Han Hao-Xiang (CHN). Bei den Damen gewinnt Ga Young Kim (KOR) im Finale gegen Chihiro Kawahara (JAP) mit 9-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Maki Kimura (JAP) und Makiko Takagi (JAP). In der nächsten Woche findet vom 09. – 15. November 2015 in Amagasaki City/Japan die 48. Ausgabe der All Japan Championship statt. Dieses Turnier hat eine sehr lange Tradition und zählt für viele Pool Billard Profis zu den Pflichtterminen eines jeden Jahres. In der sehr schönen Archaic Hall in Amagasaki City werden sowohl die Herren als auch die Damen, um den sehr prestigeträchtigen Titel kämpfen. Bei den Herren gewann im Vorjahr Raymond Faraon von den Philippinen dieses WPA World Ranking Event im Finale gegen Naoyuki Oi aus Japan mit 11-8 –> 47th All Japan Championship 2014. England A, closing the evening, trounced Korea in the only white-wash of the event so far while Japan won a fabulous hill-hill battle against the Dutch. England can look forward to Romania or Indonesia in Saturday’s quarter finals while Japan face either Qatar or the Czech Republic.
