Juni 2017 beginnt in London das wohl spektakulärste Pool Billard Event des Jahres. Joshua Filler (GER) gewinnt World 9 Ball China Open 2017 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 11-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Thorsten Hohmann (GER) und Cheng Yu-Hsuan (TW). Bei den Damen gewinnt Chen Siming (CHN) im Finale gegen Liu Shasha (CHN) mit 9-8. Den 3. Platz belegen Fu Xiaofang (CHN) und Chezka Centeno (PHI). Morgen beginnen in Shanghai die World 9 Ball China Open 2017. Die China Open zählen seit Jahren zu den größten Pool Billard Events auf der ganzen Welt. Für die meisten ist dieses Turnier die größtmögliche Herausforderung und der vielleicht größte Titel den man in seiner Karriere gewinnen kann. Nahezu die gesamte Weltelite wird bis zum 11. Juni um diesen begehrten Titel spielen, das Gesamtpreisgeld bei Damen und Herren zusammen beträgt mehr als 370.000$. Titelverteidiger bei den Herren ist Wu Jiaqing aus China, der zweifache Weltmeister gewann im Vorjahr gegen Cheng Yu-Hsuan aus Taiwan mit 11-4. 22nd May – 2017 Mosconi Cup He wins as VDB goes top Nick van den Berg leapfrogged Ralf Souquet to take pole position on the European Mosconi Cup rankings after the Eurotour Austrian Open. Van den Berg collected 23 points for reaching the last eight of the tournament, where he fell to eventual finalist Francisco Sanchez Ruiz of Spain. Mario He rises to fourth after collecting the title. Albin Ouschan, MVP at last year’s Mosconi Cup, climbs into the top ten as a beaten semi-finalist while the other defeated semi-finalist, Joshua Filler, moves up two places to eighth. Unlike previous years there will be only two rankings instead of three. The first will be the ‘European Ranking’ which includes the five European ‘A’ and five European ‘B’ events. The winner of this ranking will gain a spot on the Mosconi Cup side. The second ranking will be the ‘World Ranking’ which will comprise all 12 events. Die anspruchsvollste Pool Billard Tour der Welt macht ihren nächsten Stopp in Österreich. Die Austria Open 2017 finden vom 18. – 20. Mai 2017 in St. Johann statt. 10th April – 2017 Mosconi Cup Souquet consolidates position at the top GERMANY’S RALF SOUQUET tightened his grip at the top of the European 2017 Mosconi Cup rankings with another great performance as he finished in the top four of the recent Portuguese Open in Salgados. With no ‘World’ events having taken place yet, the ‘European’ and ‘World’ rankings are currently one and the same and the Kaiser has opened up a 45 points lead over third spot. Souquet has already appeared in more Mosconi Cups than any other European player (16) and will looking to return to the side for his first appearance since 2013. Nick van den Berg, a winner in Portugal is up to second on 90, 33 points ahead of David Alcaide in third spot. Unlike previous years there will be only two rankings instead of three. Die Portugal Women Open 2017 gewinnt Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) im Finale gegen Kristina Tkach (RUS) mit 7-3. Den 3. Platz belegen Ina Kaplan (GER) und Katarzyna Wesolowska (POL). Direkt im Anschluss an die derzeit laufende Pool Billard Europameisterschaft findet an gleicher Stelle, in Albufeira/Portugal, der nächste Euro-Tour Stopp statt. Vom 30. März bis zum 01. April 2017 wird es für sehr viele EM Teilnehmer direkt weitergehen. Im Moment sind mehr als 180 Teilnehmer für die Portugal Open 2017 angemeldet und dies verspricht, wie bereits von der Euro-Tour gewohnt, spannende und hochklassige Partien. 19/03/2017 Tkach and Feijen dethrone the Austrian superpower siblings Kristina Tkach (RUS) and Niels Feijen (NED) have just won the gold medals in the straight pool discipline of the Dynamic Billard European Championships in Albufeira, Portugal. In the men’s division, „The Terminator“ Niels Feijen played an outstanding tournament. Having won the coveted title in straight pool already 5-times before, Feijen really had an incentive this time. His A-status with the Dutch Olympic Committee and therefore the funding for another year was in danger if he would not have made in into the last eight of the event. After having ousted Stephan Cohen (FRA) 125:3 in the round of the last 32 players, he met the defending Champion Albin Ouschan (AUT) in the next round. Ouschan was a very high obstacle that Feijen needed to overcome in order to get into the round of the last 8. Ralf Souquet (GER), also known as „The Kaiser“, wins his 22nd Euro-Tour event Italy with an impressive 9:5 victory over „The Siberian Express“ Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS) in the final match of the Dynamic Billard Italian Open in BHR Best Western Hotel in Treviso, Italy. The single elimination started with a huge effort for Souquet. He met Ivar Sarin (NED) in the round of the last 32 players and barely made it with 9:8 over the young Dutch player. Then today, he marched on and eliminated Konstantin Stepanov (RUS) 9:7, surprise player Damianos Giallourakis (GRE) 9:6 and in the semi-final match he ousted Daryl Peach (GBR) with another 9:7 victory. Chinakhov’s way to the final match was not easier. He dealt with Wojciech Sroczynski (POL) 9:2, ousted his young teammate Sergey Lutsker (RUS) 9:4, ended Mario He’s (AUT) run 9:4 and finally took down Denis Grabe (EST) 9:3.
