2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup – Ouschan maintains slender lead

18 September – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup WITH A RELATIVELY poor showing for Europe’s stars at the WPA World 9 Ball Championship in Qatar, there has been minimal movement on the PartyPoker Mosconi Cup ranking list. The highest finisher was Poland’s Wojciech Szewczyk who reached the last eight to earn 15 points and give himself an outside shot at both the World and Combined list. Albin Ouschan (Austria) maintained his lead at the top of the World Ranking and a high finish at the US Open next month could see him make his Mosconi Cup debut in December. He leads Spain’s David Alcaide by five points with seasoned MC players Mika Immonen and Darren Appleton a further five points back. The Combined list is still topped by Niels Feijen who was out of the points in Doha but Ouschan is well placed, just four points behind with two events to be played. Taiwan (Ko Pin-Yi & Chang Yu-Lung) gewinnt Dafabet World Cup of Pool 2015 im Finale gegen England B (Mark Gray & Daryl Peach) mit 10-8. Den 3. Platz belegen England A (Darren Appleton & Karl Boyes) und Japan (Naoyuki Oi & Tohru Kuribayashi). Direkt im Anschluss an die derzeit laufende 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft (2015 WPA World 9 Ball Championship) in Doha/Katar findet in der bekannten York Hall in London das nächste Top Pool Billard Event des Jahres 2015 statt. Ko Pin-Yi (TW) gewinnt 2015 WPA World 9 Ball Championship im Finale gegen Shane Van Boening (USA) mit 13-11. Den 3. Platz belegen Ko Ping-Chung (TW) und Wu Jiaqing (CHN). Ab dem 07. September 2015 wird in Doha/Katar die diesjährige 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft ausgetragen. Die 2015 WPA World 9 Ball Championship läuft bis zum 18. September 2015 und es werden so ziemlich alle Stars der Pool Billard Welt in Doha anzutreffen sein. Die 9 Ball WM gehört jedes zu den Events mit der größten Strahlkraft und dem größten Prestige. Und kaum ein anderes Turnier ist wohl so schwer zu gewinnen wie die Titelkämpfe im Al Arabi Sports Club. Extreme Temperaturen draußen, Klimaanlagen die den Spielort ziemlich runterkühlen und die besten Spieler der Welt. 20th August – 2015 World Cup of Pool World-class line up set for York Hall showdown With the annual World Cup of Pool coming back to London this September, Matchroom Sport can announce the 32 teams and players set to contest the annual $250,000 pairs tournament. Taking place at pool’s fiercest venue, the York Hall in Bethnal Green, the World Cup runs from Tuesday 22nd to 27th September. Defending champions are England A with Karl Boyes and Darren Appleton looking to become the first pair to successfully defend their crown. Competition will be tough though, with a host of previous winners and finalists taking part. Germany will be represented by 2011 champions Thorsten Hohmann and Ralf Souquet and 2012 winners Mika Immonen and Petri Makkonen (Finland) will be once again taking part. 4th August – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Niels Feijen took a commanding lead at the top of the European Mosconi Cup ranking list after winning his second Euro Tour title of the year at the weekend. The Dutchman was MVP at last year’s PartyPoker Mosconi Cup, which saw Europe earn an 11-5 victory over Team USA in front of a record-breaking crowd in Blackpool, England and he had already won the Italian Open on the Euro Tour earlier this year. His win in the Dynamic Austria Open at the weekend saw him open up a 14-point lead at the top of the Euro Tour ranking list, meaning a quarter-final or better finish on home soil at the Dynamic Dutch Open in October will guarantee him a spot on this year’s European team. Feijen defeated Petri Makkonen at the quarter-final stage in Austria, meaning the Finnish star was displaced at the top of the rankings. Feijen wins Dynamic Billard Austrian Open over Filler

01/08/2015 In a high class quality final match, Niels Feijen (NED) defeated Joshua Filler (GER) with 9:7 in the final match of the Dynamic Billard Austrian Open. The writing was on the wall that this match would be a thriller. And the many spectators in the venue and on the computer screens were not disappointed. To the contrary. The final contained everything one could wish for. The first racks were close to perfect. Both players hardly made any mistakes and after nine racks the scoreboard displayed a small advantage for Feijen with 5:4. Then Filler made a mistake when he attempted a safety on the 2-ball when Feijen played a push-out instead of handing the situation back to Feijen. He left an open table for Feijen and „The Terminator“ ran out, taking a 6:4 lead over Filler. Feijen could continue with this strong performance and after 13 racks, he was on the hill leading 8:5. 31/07/2015 Joshua Filler (GER) powered past former World Champion Oliver Ortmann (GER) 9:2 in the second winner’s round of the Dynamic Billard Austrian Open. The match between the two Germans was really a clash between the generations. On one side Ortmann with all his victories and merits in the past, always to be considered a tough opponent. In the other corner Joshua Filler, young gun on fire who just became third in an international straight pool event in New York, USA. The match was expected a close fight. But it turned out to be everything else but that. To the contrary, Filler started out like a hurricane and played marvelous pool. His break shot was there and he made no mistakes in the early stage of the match. Ortmann’s disadvantage was that his break was not there and Filler punished him for that without mercy. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt Austrian Open 2015 im Finale gegen Joshua Filler (GER) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz belegen Sebastian Ludwig (GER) und Francisco Diaz-Pizarro (SPA). Im Anschluss an die derzeit laufende Pool Billard Europameisterschaft der Junioren in Österreich findet der 4. Euro-Tour Stopp der Saison statt. Im sehr schönen Alpina Sporthotel in St. Johann haben sich bislang mehr als 230 Teilnehmer gemeldet und diese werden vom 30. Juli – 01. August 2015 um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 34.000€ spielen. Die letzte Euro-Tour fand zuletzt Anfang Juni im nordhessischen Baunatal statt und der Gewinner der German Open 2015 hieß am Ende Petri Makkonen aus Finnland, er bezwang im Finale Konrad Juszczyszyn aus Polen mit 9-3. Wir sind gespannt ob Petri Makkonen seine gute Form halten konnte und auch in St. Johann eine Siegchance haben wird. Die insgesamt mehr als 230 Meldungen sind ein Ausrufezeichen, das die Euro-Tour, entgegen vieler Aussagen, am Ende ist. Albin Ouschan (AUT) gewinnt World 9 Ball China Open 2015 im Finale gegen John Morra (CAN) mit 11-8. Den 3. Platz belegen Nick van den Berg (NED) und Chu Bingjie (CHN). Bei den Damen gewinnt Ga Young Kim (KOR) im Finale gegen Fu Xiaofang (CHN) mit 9-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Chen Siming (CHN) und Yu Han (CHN). Am Sonntag, den 28. Juni 2015 startet in Shanghai/China eines der größten und prestigeträchtigsten Pool Billard Turniere auf der ganzen Welt. Die World 9 Ball China Open 2015 sind nach der 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft das wohl spannendste und härteste Turnier, welches ein Pool Billard Spieler bestreiten kann. Bis zum Finaltag am 05. 8th June – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Makkonen makes a move FINLAND’S PETRI MAKKONEN landed his maiden Euro Tour title in Germany at the weekend and as he crashed the European Mosconi Cup rankings and put himself in the frame for a December trip to Las Vegas. The 27 year-old Finn came through a stellar field at Baunatal and defeated Konrad Juszczyszyn of Poland in the championship match to claim the 20 ranking points. The win put Makkonen into second place on the Euro Tour ranking list, three points behind Niels Feijen. He also moved into third position on the Combined ranking list, a single point behind joint leaders Marcus Chamat and David Alcaide. There are three separate ranking lists in operation – the first comprised of a five event Euro Tour series; the second a four event ‘World’ series and the last a combined ranking of the two.
