12th October – 2016 Mosconi Cup Shane stretches lead as Morris and Dechaine duke it out for third WITH A SPATE of three Mosconi Cup ranking events taking place over the past two weeks, it’s still Shane Van Boening who looks a certainty to be making his tenth appearance in Team USA colours. The South Dakota Kid took top honours at the Tornado Open in Florida to give himself a huge lead 77 point over second placed Skyler Woodward. Van Boening would need to go pointless at the final two events, with the second, third and fourth placed players filling up the top spots for him to miss out on a trip to London in December. Woodward took top spot at Chinook Winds to leapfrog into second spot while Rodney Morris came home in fifth spot, earning enough points to keep in the top three. September 2016 beginnen in Hollywood die Tornado Open 2016. Dieses Event, das im Seminole Hard Rock Hotel und Casino ausgetragen wird, gehört zu den höchstdotierten Pool Billard Turnieren 2016 in den USA. Wenn am 02. Oktober 2016 die Finals ausgetragen werden, sind eine Vielzahl an Events ausgetragen worden. Dazu zählen ein 10 Ball Pro Event der Herren, ein 10 Ball Pro Event bei den Damen und ein 10 Ball Pro Doppel-Turnier, das aus einer Frau und einem Mann besteht. Ein weiteres erstklassiges Pool Billard Turnier in den Vereinigten Staaten ist das Turning Stone Classic XXVI. Die 26. Ausgabe dieses 9 Ball Events wird auch in der zweiten Jahreshälfte viele Top-Spieler an die Tische bringen wenn es um knapp 40.000$ Preisgeld geht. Das Turning Stone Classic wird seit einigen Jahren zweimal im Jahr ausgetragen, die letzte Ausgabe Anfang Januar 2016 gewann Mika Immonen aus Finnland im Finale gegen Eric Hjorleifson aus Kanada mit 13-2 —> Turning Stone Classic XXV 2016. 10th August – 2016 Mosconi Cup Super Shane claims top spot FOLLOWING A GREAT run of events, Shane Van Boening raced to the top of the USA Mosconi Cup ranking, building up a 39 point lead over second placed Rodney Morris. The South Dakota man enjoyed a fruitful spell in Las Vegas as he took both the US Open 8 Ball and 10 Ball events for 35 points apiece. He then moved onto Qatar and the WPA World 9 Ball Championship where he grabbed 67 points for finishing runner-up for the second consecutive year. Morris, who enjoyed a great start to the 28 event series, maintains his spot among the top three with a 45 point cushion. Making up the automatic spots is Oscar Dominguez, who is looking to add to his 2009 Mosconi Cup winners medal. He is 28 points clear of Mike Dechaine in fourth. 2016 US Open 8-Ball Championship underway at The Rio CueSports International, Henderson, NV (July 23, 2016) The winners’ side of the bracket is filled with heavy hitters after the first day of competition was complete at the 2016 US Open 8-Ball Championship at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Thorsten ‘The Hit Man’ Hohmann, Rodney ‘The Rocket’ Morris and the legendary Francisco Bustamante remain on the A-side of the bracket, along with Vilmos Foldes, Amar Kang, Jesse Bowman, Rory Hendrickson, Josh Roberts and Matt Edwards. Van Boening claims second US 10-Ball Championship title CueSports International, Henderson, NV (July 22, 2016) Shane Van Boening of South Dakota did what he did best Thursday at the US Open 10-Ball Championship at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino — break with consistency; pocket balls with deadly accuracy; and place the cue ball with precision. And so Van Boening was able to pocket a second US Open 10-Ball Championship, and the $10,000 prize that accompanied a silver cup. Van Boening’s tournament started strong, with wins over Chad Sholders, 10-4; Tommy Tokoph, 10-7; Georgi Georgiev, 10-5; Amar Kang, 10-6, and Sky Woodward, 10-5, before being bested by runner-up Rodney Morris in the hot seat match, 10-7. Juli 2016 findet in Las Vegas die 40. Ausgabe der BCAPL National Championships statt. Diese Veranstaltung ist gleichzusetzen mit einer nationalen Meisterschaft. Allerdings dürfen hier nur Amateure teilnehmen und keine Pros.
