Oktober 2016 findet in Brooklyn/New York die 2. Ausgabe der Gotham City Billiards 9 Ball Pro Classic statt. Dieses 9 Ball Pool Billard Turnier ist das erste Event von einer Reihe erstklassiger Veranstaltungen in den nächsten Wochen. Ende Oktober finden in New York die Steinway Classics statt, sowie vom 16. – 22. Oktober das größte 9 Ball Turnier in den Staaten, die US Open 9 Ball Championship. Zusätzlich gibt es in der nächsten Woche vom 12. – 16. Oktober noch die American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship 2016, die Infos zu diesem 14.1 Turnier sollten in den nächsten Tagen folgen. Kelly Fisher (GBR) gewinnt Tornado Open 10 Ball Women im Finale gegen Ga Young Kim (KOR) mit 7-4. Den 3. Platz belegt Allison Fisher (GBR). Am kommenden Mittwoch, den 28. September 2016 beginnen in Hollywood die Tornado Open 2016. Dieses Event, das im Seminole Hard Rock Hotel und Casino ausgetragen wird, gehört zu den höchstdotierten Pool Billard Turnieren 2016 in den USA. Wenn am 02. Oktober 2016 die Finals ausgetragen werden, sind eine Vielzahl an Events ausgetragen worden. Dazu zählen ein 10 Ball Pro Event der Herren, ein 10 Ball Pro Event bei den Damen und ein 10 Ball Pro Doppel-Turnier, das aus einer Frau und einem Mann besteht. Photos by Joseph Ratke 76th World 14.1 Sept. 5-11, 2016 New York City, Steinway Billiards New York City- It seems only fitting that two adopted New Yorkers play for the World 14.1 Title on the 15th Anniversary of 9/11. Mika Immonen is from Finland, but he has resided in NYC for over 15 years. And Earl Strickland, who hails from North Carolina, has lived in New York for about five years now. In the end, it was Immonen who was able to sigh a deep breath of relief. „Between the nerves and 6 hours of play, I was shaking. I have to admit I was more of afraid of losing in the finals again then thinking of the joys of winning“, admitted Immonen. „But I now have this huge weight off my shoulders finally. I can’t believe it. I’m the World 14.1 Champion and it is just such a huge honor.“ Immonen, age 43, was inducted into the BCA HOF in 2014 while Strickland, age 55, gained entry in 2006. August werden in Shanghai/China die World 9 Ball China Open 2016 eröffnet. Bis zum 28. August wird bei den China Open so ziemlich alles was Rang und Namen hat, in der weltweiten Pool Billard Szene, am Start sein. Dieses Turnier zählt zu den größten Herausforderungen eines jeden Pool Billard Spielers. Kaum ein Turnier ist weder bei Damen und Herren besser besetzt als dieses. Es gibt viele Spieler die der Meinung sind das die China Open einen höheren Stellenwert haben als eine Weltmeisterschaft. 10th August – 2016 Mosconi Cup Albin back in the reckoning ALBIN OUSCHAN saw his 2016 Mosconi Cup chances increase hugely when he was crowned WPA World 9 Ball champion in Qatar earlier this month. The title was a vindication of the young Austrian’s talent and resolve, as he followed up his silver medal in 2015 with gold. The win puts Ouschan on top of the European World points list after just one event. There are three more tournaments to go – China Open, US Open and the Kuwait Open – and Ouschan has got off to the best possible start in that ranking and will be looking to make the team and emulate his Mosconi Cup showing last year when he bagged the winning 9 ball. Jayson Shaw maintained his top spot in both the Combined list with a quarter-final finish in Qatar, while Mark Gray is well placed astride the European ranking. 06/08/2016 German wonderkid Filler knocks Immonen for eight Joshua Filler (GER), the German wonderkid, just defeated Mika Immonen (FIN) in the single elimination round of the last 32 players of the Dynamic Billard Albanian Open in Tirana, Albania, with 9:7. The result of the match is definitely a surprise but not yet the biggest story about the match. Also the pure fact that Filler won against Immonen in itself is not the biggest upset here. The major surprise of the match is the fact how Filler managed to triumph over Immonen. After eight racks played, Immonen was leading 7:1 (!) over Filler and just needed two more racks to waltz into the round of the last 16 players tomorrow. But then the match turned 180 degrees. Filler did not miss any more shots while Immonen started making mistakes. He scratched while playing a push-out, ran out of position and hooked himself up behind the wrong ball and left safety situations for Filler that the young German was able to run-out. Unmittelbar nach der 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft in Doha/Katar und der Jugend Europameisterschaft in Tirana/Albanien findet am Freitag, den 05. August 2016 der nächste Euro-Tour Stopp statt. Für die meisten der europäischen Pool Billard Elite sind diese Albanian Open 2016 mit einer Menge Stress verbunden. Am Donnerstag, den 04. August ist der Finaltag der 9 Ball WM und wir dürfen gespannt sein, welche Europäer zu dieser Zeit noch im Turnier sind und ob alle Flieger pünktlich nach Tirana unterwegs sein werden.
