Reyes & Immonen Agree on Toughest Teams Ever Faced at Kings Cup

Manila, Philippines – The Kings Cup is hours away to launch. Both Asia and Team West have been practicing and ready. In a media conference yesterday, all 8 players of the Kings Cup were interviewed. Captain Mika Immonen, one of the most experienced players alive in team play competition representing Europe numerous times, was asked if this was the toughest team he had ever faced. Mika without hesitation admitted this was indeed the greatest challenge in team competition. Captain Efren Reyes was asked the same question back, and his response was concurring with Immonen’s. „This is the most concentrated team of talent I have ever faced. It’s going to be a real battle“, said Immonen. „Every one of their players is a champion. This is going to be very hard on us“, said Reyes of his Western counterparts. „This is going to be good for Shane and Albin. Team West gewinnt Kings Cup 2015 gegen Team Asia mit 10-7. Vom 19. – 21. November 2015 findet in Manila/Philippinen die 1. Ausgabe des Kings Cup statt. Dieses Pool Billard Show-Event wurde von Dragon Promotions ins Leben gerufen und als großes Vorbild dient der alljährige Mosconi Cup von Matchroom Sport. Bei Kings Cup 2015 gehen zwei Teams zu je vier Spielern an den Start. Während beim Mosconi Cup jedes Jahr fünfköpfige Teams aus den USA und Europa ihr Können zeigen, sind es beim Kings Cup 2015 die Teams West und East. 3rd November – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Final Rankings for the Europeans WITH A last-gasp runners-up finish at the US Open, Karl Boyes, the ebullient Englishman, stole the final automatic qualifying spot from under the noses of more fancied rivals. And it now sets him up for his fourth PartyPoker Mosconi Cup appearance next month. With Albin Ouschan topping both World and Combined Rankings after a magnificent second half of the year, and Niels Feijen winning the Euro Tour Ranking, the selection of the third spot reverted to the Combined Ranking. Feijen already occupied second spot so the final automatic berth went to the No.3 on that list which was Boyes. The two wild card picks went to England’s Darren Appleton, who won the WPA World Chinese 8 Ball Championship earlier in the year and Holland’s Nick Van den Berg who was the next highest placed player on the Combined Rankings following the final qualifying event in Virginia. Oktober 2015 findet im Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel eines der Pool Billard Highlights des Jahres statt. 6th October – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Feijen set for MC Number 11 FOLLOWING ON from his last 16 finish at the recent Dutch Open on the Euro Tour, Holland’s much decorated Niels Feijen can ready himself for his 11th appearance pulling on the blue European jersey at PartyPoker Mosconi Cup XXII at the Tropicana in December. The athletic Dutchman first competed in 2001 when Europe was hammered at the York Hall. His next two appearances also saw defeat before he became part of the group of European players who enjoyed almost total domination of the event from 2007 onwards. The 38 year-old Feijen will become tied third on the European list of appearances as well as tied fifth on the Mosconi Cup all-time appearances list. 04/10/2015 In a final that was mainly determined by one man, Albin Ouschan (AUT) defeated „The Maharaja“ Imran Majid (GBR) clearly with 9:2. The early stage of the final match was determined by equal shotmaking of both players. Consequently, the scoreboard displayed 2:2 after four racks. In rack six, the referee called a foul shot on Majid which he disagreed with. However, Ouschan got to the table and managed to get a two-point lead for the first time in the match. It turned out that this situation became the turning point in the final. Ouschan had some luck with his safety play but in the end did not allow Majid to win any more rack. He played consistently and paved his way to glory with solid pool and excellent shotmaking. 9:2 was the final result which brought Ouschan the victory at the Dynamic Billard Dutch Open. „I was lucky at times with my safety play,“ admitted Ouschan after the match, „but all in all I think I have played some good pool here.“ „I have […]
