Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt US Open 9 Ball Championships 2013 im Finale gegen Lee Vann Corteza (PHI) mit 13-10. Den 3. Platz belegt Jayson Shaw (SCO)! Die 38. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships findet vom 13. – 19. Oktober 2013 im Marriott Hotel in Chesapeake statt. Stand heute, den 12. Oktober sind mehr als 160 Teilnehmer gemeldet. Dieses sehr traditionsreiche Pool Billard 9 Ball Turnier ist dass einzige weltweit das seit mehr als 30 Jahren ohne Unterbrechung stattfindet. Es gilt als eines der am schwersten zu gewinnenden Turniere überhaupt und hat den Stellenwert einer Weltmeisterschaft. Der erste Sieger der US Open 9 Ball 1976 war Mike Sigel (USA). Der erste Europäer, der dieses Turnier gewann ist der Deutsche Ralf Souquet. Im Steinway Billiards in Astoria/New York wird ein erstklassiges Teilnehmerfeld vom 25. – 27. August bei diesem 10 Ball Event um den Titel kämpfen. Im Halbfinale gewann Thorsten Hohmann gegen John Schmidt mit 200-18 und Darren Appleton gegen Francisco Bustamante mit 200-1, dabei gelang Appleton eine 200er Serie!“ Vom 19. – 24. The South Dakota native defeated Hawaii’s Rocket Rodney Morris in the 8-Ball bar table event that boasted a full field of 48 in the Masters Division. The event was produced by E.J. Glode and co-promoted by Dragon Promotions. Drawing over 150 players in 3 divisions, the Wyoming Open is widely regarded as the biggest and best pool event in 6 states. The event was sponsored by Asia’s #1 pro cloth Andy Cloth and Master Chalk. Local partners are Duke’s Bar & Grill and Riviera Lodge and all events coordinated by Shively Hardware. In the Sportsman Division featuring novice players, Mike Kozeniewski of Wyoming won the 50 player division. He defeated Dwain Twiford twice in the finals.
