Team Europe gewinnt Mosconi Cup 2013 gegen Team USA mit 11-2. MVP der Veranstaltung wurde völlig verdient Niels Feijen (NED). Vom 02. – 05. Dezember 2013 findet in Las Vegas/USA die 20. Auflage des legendären Mosconi Cups statt. Die diesjährige Jubiläumsausgabe der Matchroom Sport Topveranstaltung wird erneut alle Pool Billard Fans und Begeisterten mobilisieren. Dieser Nationenvergleich hat den gleichen Stellenwert wie z.B. im Golfsport der Ryder Cup. In diesem Jahr konnten sich die Spieler nicht anhand von Leistungen auf den Major Events qualifizieren. Der Veranstalter Matchroom Sport hat alle 10 Spieler selbst nominiert für den Mosconi Cup 2013. In den letzten 3 Jahren gewann Team Europa den Mosconi Cup ziemlich souverän, doch diesmal wird es für die Europäer um Team Captain Johan Ruijsink sicherlich ein wenig schwerer werden. Die Amerikaner machen in diesem Jahr einen sehr selbstbewussten Eindruck und scheinen fest entschlossen den Cup nach Amerika zurückzuholen. „Earl Strickland (USA) gewinnt Turning Stone Classic XXI im Finale gegen Jeremy Sossei (USA) mit 13-7. Den 3. Platz belegt Danny Normandin (USA)!“ Vom 19. – 22. September 2013 findet in Verona/New York die 21. Ausgabe des Turning Stone Classic statt. Im Turning Stone Resort & Casino werden erneut 128 Spieler um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 41.000$ spielen. Das Turning Stone Classic bietet stets ein sehr starkes Teilnehmerfeld in einer tollen Location. Leider wird diese Ausgabe ein wenig im Schatten des Zeitgleich stattfindenden World Cup of Pool 2013 stehen, aber einige der besten US Profis werden sicher für sehr interessante Matches sorgen. Die letzte Ausgabe im Januar gewann Shane Van Boening (USA) im Finale gegen Johnny Archer (USA) mit 13-5. Beide Spieler werden leider nicht in Verona am Start sein, da sie in London für die USA beim World Cup of Pool starten. New York, New York – Schmidt becomes the least American standing once again. Hohmann the last German standing. The semi-finals could have been set as a finals match in any other year. The two titans of 14.1 faced off for the right to play one match for the title once again. The stars are inching closer to the oldest title in the world. Dragon Promotions and Dr. Michael Fedak have brought another globally star studded field at this year’s 73rd Olhausen World Tournament hosted by Steinway Billiards in New York on August 19th-24th,2013. Live stream broadcast will be on www.insidepool.tv USA’s John Schmidt had defeated nearly all the faavorite American players including Archer, Hatch, and Van Boening who all fell to Schmidt. Hohmann started the event a little slow and escaped Max Eberle and then proceeded to annihilate Jayson Shaw of Scotland. Ausgabe des World Tournament of 14.1 findet an gleicher Spielstätte das 2nd Annual Steinway Classic 2013 statt. Im Steinway Billiards in Astoria/New York wird ein erstklassiges Teilnehmerfeld vom 25. – 27. August bei diesem 10 Ball Event um den Titel kämpfen. Das Preisgeld wird mehr als 15.000$ Dollar betragen und davon sind alleine 7.000$ added Money. Die 2. Ausgabe der Steinway Classic sind ziemlich gut besetzt, da die meisten Teilnehmer des World Tournament of 14.1 natürlich auch an diesem Pool Billard Turnier teilnehmen werden. „Thorsten Hohmann (GER) gewinnt The 73rd World Tournament of 14.1 im Finale gegen Darren Appleton (GBR) mit 200-164. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Francisco Bustamante (PHI) und John Schmidt (USA). Im Halbfinale gewann Thorsten Hohmann gegen John Schmidt mit 200-18 und Darren Appleton gegen Francisco Bustamante mit 200-1, dabei gelang Appleton eine 200er Serie!“ Vom 19. – 24. August 2013 findet im Steinway Billiards in Astoria/New York die 73. Ausgabe des World Tournament of 14.1 statt. Das von Dragon Promotions organisierte 14.1 (Straight Pool) Event wird auch als die inoffizielle Weltmeisterschaft in dieser Disziplin gehandelt. In den letzten Jahren gab es immer weniger Straight Pool Turniere aufgrund des immer geringer werdenden Interesses. Dennoch schafft es Promoter Charlie Williams jedes Jahr aufs Neue die absoluten 14.1 Spezialisten an den Start zu bringen. It was Holland’s Nick van den Berg who dropped the final 9 ball of the four day event to spark wild scenes of celebration. The Americans were on the floor after the Wednesday night session, trailing 9-6 going into the final day but they dug deep and turned the tide as they won the first three matches to level it at 9-9 and make it anyone’s match. „Team Europa gewinnt den Mosconi Cup 2012 nach hochdramatischen 4 Tagen mit 11-9. MVP der Veranstaltung wird Chris Melling!“ Vom 10. – 13. Dezember 2012 findet in der Londoner York Hall das absolute Pool Billard Topevent des Jahres statt. Der Mosconi Cup 2012 geht in seine 19. Auflage und die Europäer werden alles geben, um den Sieg vom Vorjahr zu wiederholen. Im letzten Jahr war das Match zwischen den USA und Europa in Las Vegas ein relativ einseitiges. Die Europäer dominierten vom 1. Tag an und waren in allen Belangen den Spielern aus Amerika überlegen. Europa gewann den Mosconi Cup 2011 mit 11-7. Dieses Jahr sind die Amerikaner, die insgesamt 12-mal gewonnen haben nur leichter Außenseiter in London. Das US-Team wird angeführt vom sogenannten Non-Playing Captain CJ Wiley, bei den Europäern ist es wie in den Jahren zuvor Johan Rujsink aus den Niederlanden. Die Spieler der USA (in Klammern die bisherigen Mosconi Cup Teilnahmen) sind Shane Van Boening (5), aktueller US Open 9 Ball Champion, der in den letzten Wochen auf überragenden Niveau gespielt hat.
