Ga Young Kim (KOR) gewinnt Women’s International Pool Championship 2014 im Finale gegen Vivian Villarreal (USA) mit 17-10. Den 3. Platz belegen Jennifer Barretta (USA) und Denise Wilkinson (NZ). Vom 16. – 21. Dezember 2014 finden in New York die Women’s International Pool Championship 2014 statt. Dieses 10 Ball Damen Turnier wird gemeinsam von der WPBA und Dragon Promotions organisiert und seit mehreren Wochen intensiv im Internet beworben. Die Women’s International Pool Championship 2014 werden im sehr bekannten Steinway Billiards in New York City stattfinden und es gilt als Ersatz für die jährlich ausgetragene Damen 10 Ball Weltmeisterschaft. Dieses Turnier wurde zuerst nicht von der WPA sanktioniert, weil die WPA es nicht erlaubte dieses Event als Weltmeisterschaft zu bewerben. Es gab die Befürchtung, dass einige Spielerinnen durch Ihre Teilnahme mit Strafen belegt werden könnten. Dieser Umstand hat sich zum guten gewendet und es wird seitens der WPA zu keinen einwenden kommen. Women’s International Pool Championship Comes to America New York City, New York– Pool fans hang onto your hats. The ladies are back! Dragon Promotions is bringing big time, world class women’s pool back to the United States with the 6th Annual Women’s International Pool Championship ! The event takes place December 16-21, 2014 featuring 64 elite women from around the world and hosted by Steinway Billiards Cafe in New York City, the epicenter of American culture. The event is sanctioned by the WPBA and will be filmed by AZBTV. The event formerly known as the Women’s World 10-Ball, was created by Charlie Williams, Executive Producer for Dragon Promotions back in 2009. It has seen the rise of women’s pool in Asia and Europe. Johnny Archer & Rodney Morris Join ANDY CLOTH HIGH DESERT SHOOTOUT This Weekend Rawlins, Wyoming– One of the most popular tournament for open and amateur players in Wyoming is back for its second year! The 3rd Annual ANDY CLOTH HIGH DESERT SHOOTOUT returns to Rawlins, WY this weekend on September 26-28th, 2014 to the Jeffrey Memorial Community Center. The Andy Cloth High Desert Shootout will allow all players of all levels below pro status to come compete for a $23,000 prize fund with $10,000 added to the events! The event is co-sponsorsed by Polaris and supported by the Lions Club and Shively Hardware. Over 150 players will compete in different divisions of skills levels. Mika Ices Iceman Open By Sylvia Lee & Joonas Ohtonen Jyväskylä (Finland) – Newest BCA Hall of Famer Mika „Iceman“ Immonen went to his home country of Finland for the Taom Tips 3rd Annual Iceman Open, and naturally took down the event. This was a great warm-up for his upcoming World Cup of Pool competition and the US Open 9-Ball, which he has been a winner in both events. The Iceman Open drew 54 of the finest Finns. Mika started the event with an exhibition match with Joonas Ohtonen which he put on a „clinic“ as he ran 11 racks during the match in a 15-1 domination. This was a prelude to things to come. But to show that the level of play has gone up in Finland, unknown Marko Rautiainen beat Mika in the early stages in a 8-7 surprise.
