17/06/2017 Europe Announces 2017 Atlantic Challenge Cup Team Captain The European Pocket Billiard Federation today announced its team’s captain to face the Americans during this year’s staging of the Atlantic Challenge Cup taking place July 5 – 8, 2017 in Klagenfurt, Austria. “We are thrilled to appoint Albin Ouschan to lead Team Europe as its Captain for the 2017 Atlantic Challenge Cup,” said EPBF President Gre Leenders. Albin is playing so well at the moment and it will be great to have someone with his experience on board. I must say, a lot of credit has to go to Albin for taking this on, he is also preparing for the World games in Poland later that month so a big hand has to go to him for giving his time for these young stars” Leenders continued. 15/06/2017 Vote for EPBF Youth Player of the Year is open Starting today, fans can vote for their favourite player in the youth division to conquer the coveted title of EPBF Youth Player of the Year 2016. Five candidates have been nominated for the title: Sanjin Pehlivanovic The youngster from Bosnia & Hercegovina has won EC Champion titles in 8-ball and 10-ball in the Under 17 last year. He also took the Bronze Medal in Straight Pool. Furthermore, he achieved a 3rd place finish in the WPA World Youth Championships. Maxim Dudanets Russia’s Maxim Dudanets took the 3rd place in the WPA World Youth Championship Under 19 and became European 10-ball Champion Under 19. Additionally, he finished 2nd in 9-ball and Straight Pool. Kristina Tkach The young girl from Russian is a very talented and uprising player who also already earns her merits in the women’s division. 29/05/2017 USA Announces 2017 Atlantic Challenge Cup Team Captain The Billiard Congress of America today announced its team’s captain to face the Europeans during this year’s staging of the Atlantic Challenge Cup taking place July 5 – 8, 2017 in Klagenfurt, Austria. “We are thrilled to name Johnny Archer to lead Team USA as its Captain for the 2017 Atlantic Challenge Cup,” said BCA CEO Rob Johnson. “While his accomplishments in the game are enormous, Johnny’s commitment to give back to the game by dedicating time to support and grow junior play makes him the ideal candidate to lead Team USA in 2017. We are also excited to announce Johnny will be supported by 2015 and 2016 ACC Team Captain and BEF Junior Nationals Tournament Director Earl Munson. Captains To Be Announced In Coming Weeks The Billiard Congress of America today announced its team for the 3nd annual Atlantic Challenge Cup event to be held in Klagenfurt, Austria, 5 – 8 July, 2017. The 2017 team begins with reigning Junior National 9-Ball Champion and member of the 2016 US World Junior Team Ricky Evans. Captains To Be Announced In Coming Weeks The European Pocket Billiard Federation today announced its team to face the Americans during this year’s staging of the Atlantic Challenge Cup taking place 5 – 8, July, 2017 in Klagenfurt, Austria. The European team consists of Russia’s Maksim Dudanets, Poland’s Daniel Maciol and Wiktor Zielinski and Germany’s Patrick Hoffman. On the girls’ side are Russia’s Kristina Tkach and Belgium’s Diana Khodjaeva. Maksim and Kristina have qualified for the European team for the third time and played key roles in both of Europe’s Atlantic Challenge Cup victories. “No player will take our 2015 and 2016 victories for granted” said EPBF president Gre Leenders. “They have the upmost respect for the American players and know that what happened in the past is history. 21/05/2017 Jasmin Ouschan completes Austrian victory Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) just won the Dynamic Billard Austria Women’s Open in Alpina Wellness & Sports Hotel, St. Johann i.Pg., Austria, with a clear 7:2 victory over Veronika Ivanovskaia (GER). She was and is the powerhouse in European women’s pool billiard. Jasmin Ouschan has just completed the Austrian victory in St. Johann i.Pg. After Mario He’s victory from yesterday, she did not fall short and took the title in the women’s version of the Euro-Tour. Ouschan had a good start into the tournament. 20/05/2017 Mario He takes the title on home turf Austria’s Mario He just clearly defeated Francisco Sanchez-Riuz (ESP) with 9:2 in the final match of the Dynamic Billard Austrian Open in Alpina Wellness & Sports Hotel, St. Johann i.Pg., Austria. Mario He’s way into the final could not have been longer. He lost his opening match and had to take the long road through the loser’s side. Then, in the single elimination stage, he eliminated Tomasz Kaplan (POL) 9:8, Daryl Peach (GBR) 9:3, Marco Teutscher (NED) 9:4 and in the semi-final his teammate Albin Ouschan (AUT) 9:8. 19/05/2017 Peach ousted Kazakis in epic thriller Daryl Peach (GBR) has ousted Alexander Kazakis (GRE) at the Dynamic Billard Austrian Open in Alpina Wellness & Sports Hotel, St. Johann i.Pg., Austria. In the single elimination round of the last remaining 32 players, Peach took down Kazakis with 9:7. After 8 racks, Kazakis had a 6:2 lead over Peach. Things were looking quite promising for Kazakis but Peach is known to be a Terrier with regards to fighting. He kept his foot in the door and fought his way back into the match. When Kazakis took his timeout, the scoreboard displayed still a 6:5 lead for him. But Peach could not be distracted from his mission. After Kazakis’ timeout, Peach continued where he stopped before and took the next two racks, now leading 7:6 over Kazakis. The Greek managed to tie the match at 7:7 then.
