European Championships 2015 – Men, Women & WheelChair

Am Sonntag, den 12. April beginnen in Vale do Lobo/Portugal die diesjährigen Pool Billard Europameisterschaften der Damen, Herren und Rollstuhlfahrer. Bis zum 22. April 2015 werden in Portugal die Europameister der Disziplinen 8 Ball, 9 Ball, 14.1, 10 Ball und Team gesucht. Insgesamt gehen mehr als 180 Pool Billard Spieler aus 36 Nationen im sehr schönen Ria Park Hotel in Vale do Lobo an den Start. Natürlich wird auch dieses Jahr von fast allen Teilnehmern einiges abverlangt. In 10 Tagen werden in allen Disziplinen die Medaillen ausgespielt und der Turnierplan ist ziemlich üppig gestaltet. Über den Sinn und Unsinn dieses Ablaufs bei einer Europameisterschaft wurde bereits viel diskutiert. Die meisten Topspieler tendieren zu deutlich weniger Disziplinen und zu einem Zweijahresrhythmus. Das hätte u. a. den Vorteil das ein Europameister weitaus mehr Chancen hätte seinen Titel „auszukosten“ und gewinnbringend zu vermarkten. Wer weiß, vielleicht wird ja bereits innerhalb der EPBF darüber diskutiert und wir werden in den nächsten Jahren ein Umdenken erleben. Europe Announces Atlantic Challenge Cup Team To Face America

04/04/2015 The European Pocket Billiard Federation today announced its team to face the Americans during the inaugural staging of the Atlantic Challenge Cup starting on the 1st July, 2015. There is a formidable duo of Germans in Joshua Filler & Raphael Wahl, who both picked up double gold’s at last year’s European championships. Another duo, this time all the way from Russia, sees European Girls 8-ball Champion, Kristina Tkach, and the #34 ranked player, therefore the highest ranked youth player on the Eurotour,Maxim Dudanets make the team. With the team consisting of four boys and two girls, there was still one spot in each category to fill. Finalizing the girls’ roster is the Belarusian Marharyta Fefilava, with her silver medal at the 9-ball girls Youth EC in 2014. The final boys’ spot goes to Sweden’s Daniel Tangudd who qualified through the Eurotour rankings due to the double winners of Joshua & Raphael. Team Europe still on track but first players have dropped out 16/11/2014 Team Europe is still in a nice shape at the WPA World 9-Ball Championships for Under 19’s, Under 17’s and Girls which is currently held in Shanghai, China. In the girls division, Kristina Tkach (RUS) and Marharyta Fefilava (BKR) were able to win their matches on the loser’s side. Tkach ousted Rachel Lang (USA) 7:1 and then had a thriller coming up against Xiong Shi Yan (CHN). Tkach took an early 3:1 lead but Xiong was able to pull back two racks from her to tie the match at 3:3. Tkach took a timeout and got some momentum from it. She took another two rack lead to turn the scoreboard to 5:3 in her favor. But China’s Xiong turned out to be a real tough fighter. She struck back and managed to tie the match at 6:6. 2014 Juniors 9 Ball World Championship

Vom 15. – 18. November 2014 findet in der Shanghai Huimin Middle School in Shanghai/China die 2014 Juniors 9 Ball World Championship statt. Die 9 Ball Junioren Weltmeisterschaft ist für den Nachwuchs die große Chance sich einen sehr begehrten Titel zu sichern. Oft ist dieser WM-Titel ein Sprungbrett um den Anschluss an die absolute Weltspitze zu schaffen. In Shanghai spielen die Junioren bis 19 Jahre (U19) und die Schüler (U17) sowie die Mädchen. Aus insgesamt 20 Ländern kommen alle der Teilnehmer dieser Junioren Weltmeisterschaft. Aus europäischer Sicht sind folgende Spieler zu den Titelanwärtern zu zählen: Daniel Maciol (POL), Cyriel Ledoux (NED), Maxim Dudanets (RUS), Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL), Natalia Seroshtan (RUS) und Kristina Tkach (RUS). Für Deutschland in der Kategorie der U19 werden Joshua Filler und Raphael Wahl in Shanghai am Start sein und beide haben sicher realistische Chancen auf die Goldmedaille. Selbstverständlich sind einige der größten Konkurrenten aus Asien und anderen Teilen der Welt auch dabei, dennoch gibt es bei der Junioren WM immer wieder sehr starke Neulinge. Kaci through to quarter-finals in 9-ball The Dynamic European Championships – Youth, Seniors & Ladies Portoroz, Slovenia – 1-16 aug 2014 07/08/2014 Eklent Kaci (ALB) booked his seat in the quarter-final round of the 9-ball competition of the U17 players. In the round of the last 16 players, Kaci defeated Fedor Gorst (RUS) with 7:4. He will now face Johannes Schmitt (GER) in the quarter-final match. Kaci is probably one of the bigger surprises at this Dynamic Billard European Championships for Youth. He plays rock solid and convinces with his performance. He already won the Bronze Medal in 8-ball and the Silver Medal in 10-ball earlier this week. Coming here to Portoroz completely unheralded, it will be interesting to follow where the road of this young player will lead him to. The defending Champion Jan van Lierop (NED) could not live up to his performance from last year and lost two matches in order to be eliminated from the event. Souquet and Ouschan win the Dynamic Billard North Cyprus Open Ralf Souquet (GER) and Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) have won the titles at the Dynamic Billard North Cyprus Open Euro-Tour. In the men’s division, Ralf Souquet played at his best. He took down great names like Ivo Aarts (NED) 9:0, Imran Majid (GBR) 9:3, Mieszko Fortunski (POL) 9:3 and in the final match Karl Boyes (GBR) with 9:4. The final match was dominated by Souquet from start to finish. A bit scrappy in the beginning, Souquet turned out to have the far better break shot than Boyes. He pocketed almost every time a vll on his break and ran out 4 racks without even allowing Boyes into the table. The Brit however had to struggle with his break shot. Most of the time, he came up dry with no ball down or not enough balls crossing the kitchen line. This situation was taken advantage of by Souquet without any mercy. Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) gewinnt North Cyprus Women Open 2014 im Finale gegen Kristina Tkach (RUS) mit 7-0. Den 3. Platz belegen Monica Webb (USA) und Ana Gradisnik (SLO). Nach der Dynamic Billard European Championship 2014 in Kyrenia, North Cyprus findet direkt im Anschluss vom 10. – 12. April 2014 die nächste Euro-Tour Veranstaltung der Damen statt. Bis auf wenige Ausnahmen werden alle europäischen Topspielerinnen an der North Cyprus Women Open teilnehmen. In der Gesamtwertung der Damen Euro-Tour führt derzeit die amtierende 14/1 Europameisterin Jasmin Ouschan aus Österreich, gefolgt von Ana Mazhirina aus Russland. An Platz 3 des Rankings liegt die deutsche Spitzenspielerin Ina Kaplan. Den letzten Euro-Tour Stop der Damen in Paredes/Portugal gewann Kristina Schagan, sie liegt derzeit auf Rang 20 der europäischen Bestenliste.
