Mark Gray (GBR) gewinnt Dutch Open 2014 im Finale gegen Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) mit 9-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Mario He (AUT) und Alexander Kazakis (GRE). In der Zeit vom 01. – 04. Oktober 2014 finden in Leende bei Eindhoven die Dutch Open 2014 statt. Einen Tag früher als gewohnt beginnt dieser Euro-Tour Stop bereits an einem Mittwoch. Es stehen im Hotel Golden Tulip Jagershorst lediglich elf Pool Billard Tische zur Verfügung, das zwingt die EPBF (European Pocket Billiard Federation) dazu einen Tag früher mit den ersten Runden zu beginnen. Dieser Euro-Tour Stop hat bereits jetzt mehr als 150 Teilnehmer und den größten Anteil mit knapp 30 Spielern stellen natürlich die Niederländer um 9 Ball Weltmeister Niels Feijen und dem führenden im Euro-Tour Ranking Nick van den Berg. Filler, Dudanets and Khodjaeva win the 10-ball competition The Dynamic European Championships – Youth, Seniors & Ladies Portoroz, Slovenia – 1-16 aug 2014 04/08/2014 Three more Gold Medals have been awarded at the Dynamic Billard European Championships Youth in Hotel Bernadin in Portoroz, Slovenia. In the Under 17’s, Maksim Dudanets (RUS) defeated Eklent Kaci (ALB) in the final with 6:3. Kaci had been a serious outsider. But nevertheless he had earned his place in this final against Dudanets. Victories over Jan van Lierop (NED) with 6:3, Marsel Safiullin (RUS) with 6:4 and young Kestutis Zadeikis (LIT) with 6:1 paved his way into the final match. His opponent however was the clear favorite. Dudanets ousted Patrick Hofmann (GER) 6:0, Konrad Kleinszmit (POL) 6:3 and Wiktor Zielinski (POL) with 6:5 on his way to the championship match. High quality matches in juniors and pupils straight pool on day 1 The Dynamic European Championships – Youth, Seniors & Ladies Portoroz, Slovenia – 1-16 aug 2014 01/08/2014 In the juniors division, last year’s most successful player Joshua Filler (GER) played for the first time just coming out of the pupils. His play was as strong as it used to be. The young German who also participates in the men’s Euro-Tour at times won all his matches today with clear results. He defeated Patryk Statkiewicz (POL) 100:28, Andreas Madsen (DEN) 100:47, Klemen Gradisnik (SLO) 100:44 and in the quarter-final match Pawel Kaczmarek (POL) 100:26 even. He will meet Tian Zhang (SWE) in tomorrow’s semi-final at 17:30 CET. Zhang surprisingly ousted Raphael Wahl (GER) in his quarter-final match with 100:82. The second semi-final will be played between Spasian Spasov (BUL) and Daniel Tangudd (SWE). In that match, Tangudd definitely is the player who could be regarded as the favorite. Souquet out after two rounds Probably the most famous casualty of day 1 of the Dynamic Billard Austrian open in Hotel Alpina, St. Johann, Austria, is BCA Hall of Famer Ralf Souquet (GER). He lost two straight matches against Maksim Dudanets (RUS) with 7:9 and then to completely unheralded Andreas Koukiadakis (GRE) also with 8:9 after being in the lead with 8:4. After having won the last Euro-Tour in Kyrenia, North Cyprus, this is a huge disappointment for the German superstar. Other notable results from today include Belgium’s Serge Das losing to Dudanets with 8:9 in his first round match. Then, he remained victorious over Michel Bartol from Croatia with the same result. According to the information on Das’ Facebook page, his opponent dogged some important shots during the 17th rack and allowed Das to stay in the tournament. Nick van den Berg (NED) gewinnt Italy Open 2014 im Finale gegen Karol Skowerski (POL) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Niels Feijen (NED) und Mark Gray (GBR). Die Euro-Tour startet vom 06. – 08. Februar 2014 in Treviso/Italien in die neue Saison. Bei den letzten Euro-Tour Events hatte der Veranstalter ein wenig mit rückläufigen Teilnehmerzahlen zu kämpfen und die Attraktivität der Tour wurde infrage gestellt. Mittlerweile sind für die Italy Open 2014 mehr als 130 Teilnehmer gemeldet und vielleicht ist das ein Zeichen dafür, dass es eventuell nur eine kleine Durststrecke war. Titelverteidiger ist Konstantin Stepanov (RUS), er bezwang im letztjährigen Finale Dimitri Jungo aus der Schweiz mit 9-7. Gespielt wird 9 Ball auf 9 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak und das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 34.000 Euro. Austragungsort ist wie so oft das BHR Hotel in Treviso.
