11th July RASSON announced as new Matchroom Pool table supplier MATCHROOM SPORT is delighted to announce that RASSON BILLIARDS will be the Official Table Supplier at all Matchroom pool events over the next three years. The company, based in Jiujiang City in south western China, have made large in roads into the billiard world since setting up 26 years ago. Originally, they were a slate producing country, something that they still specialize in. Rasson will be bringing their top-of-the-range Victory table to the Mosconi Cup, World Cup of Pool and World Pool Masters. With the Mosconi Cup set for Alexandra Palace, London this December and details of the World Cup of Pool and World Pool Masters 23rd and 11th editions to be announced in due course, Rasson’s tables will be seen on pool’s global stage over the next three years. 19th February – 2016 Mosconi Cup Two captains named for MC XXIII MARCUS CHAMAT and MARK WILSON have been retained as respective captains of Team Europe and Team USA for the 23rd annual Mosconi Cup match which takes place at the Alexandra Palace, London from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th December. Chamat, 40, was victorious on his captaincy debut at the Tropicana in Las Vegas last year as he guided his side to an 11-7 victory. He will be hoping to make it two from two in London. 1st February – 2016 Mosconi Cup Team USA qualification series announced MATCHROOM SPORT can announce the Official Mosconi Cup Team USA Ranking Events for the 2016 Europe v USA match which takes place at the Alexandra Palace in London from 6th to 9th December. Three of the five spots on Team USA will be allocated to the three highest placed players on the ranking list following the conclusion of the US Open in October. The roster of events has been significantly expanded from 2015 and this year there are a total of 25 tournaments which carry Mosconi Cup points. These events have been grouped into three categories: Category One is major international events both in the USA and overseas; Category Two is events played on 9 foot tables in the US and Category Three is events taking place in the US played on 7 ft tables. 13th January 2016 Mosconi Cup – Tickets on sale this Friday The Mosconi Cup returns to London in December as Team Europe look to level the overall score to 11-11 after an 11-7 success over Team USA in Las Vegas, and Matchroom Sport are delighted to announce that tickets will go on sale at midday on Friday, January 15. Tickets are expected to sell fast so don’t miss your chance to witness pool’s greatest event. The Mosconi Cup takes place from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th December 2016 at the prestigious Alexandra Palace, London. Team Europe gewinnt Mosconi Cup 2015 mit 11-7. MVP der Veranstaltung wurde Niels Feijen (NED). Wie in jedem Dezember warten alle Pool Billard Fans auf das absolute Highlight des Jahres. Der 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup verspricht auch in diesem Jahr erneut alles in den Schatten zu stellen. Vom 07. – 10. Dezember 2015 werden in Las Vegas bei der 22. Ausgabe des Mosconi Cup die Teams aus den USA und Europa bei dieser Matchroom Sport Veranstaltung für ein außergewöhnliches Spektakel sorgen. 4th August – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Niels Feijen took a commanding lead at the top of the European Mosconi Cup ranking list after winning his second Euro Tour title of the year at the weekend. The Dutchman was MVP at last year’s PartyPoker Mosconi Cup, which saw Europe earn an 11-5 victory over Team USA in front of a record-breaking crowd in Blackpool, England and he had already won the Italian Open on the Euro Tour earlier this year. His win in the Dynamic Austria Open at the weekend saw him open up a 14-point lead at the top of the Euro Tour ranking list, meaning a quarter-final or better finish on home soil at the Dynamic Dutch Open in October will guarantee him a spot on this year’s European team. 4th August – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Shane turns the screw but it’s wide open for remaining two spots Shane Van Boening remains the front runner in the 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Team USA ranking, but the race for the second and third spots on this year’s team for Las Vegas is hotting up. Van Boening sits top of the pile after the US Open 10-ball and US Open 8-ball tournaments. He has 72 points, twice as many as second-placed Corey Deuel and Skyler Woodward have amassed. With just Turning Stone and the US Open 9-ball to be played, Van Boening is a hot favourite to make Mark Wilson’s team but could still be displaced from the top three. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt Austrian Open 2015 im Finale gegen Joshua Filler (GER) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz belegen Sebastian Ludwig (GER) und Francisco Diaz-Pizarro (SPA). Im Anschluss an die derzeit laufende Pool Billard Europameisterschaft der Junioren in Österreich findet der 4. Euro-Tour Stopp der Saison statt. Im sehr schönen Alpina Sporthotel in St. Johann haben sich bislang mehr als 230 Teilnehmer gemeldet und diese werden vom 30. Juli – 01. August 2015 um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 34.000€ spielen. Die letzte Euro-Tour fand zuletzt Anfang Juni im nordhessischen Baunatal statt und der Gewinner der German Open 2015 hieß am Ende Petri Makkonen aus Finnland, er bezwang im Finale Konrad Juszczyszyn aus Polen mit 9-3. Wir sind gespannt ob Petri Makkonen seine gute Form halten konnte und auch in St. Johann eine Siegchance haben wird.
