8th June – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Makkonen makes a move FINLAND’S PETRI MAKKONEN landed his maiden Euro Tour title in Germany at the weekend and as he crashed the European Mosconi Cup rankings and put himself in the frame for a December trip to Las Vegas. The 27 year-old Finn came through a stellar field at Baunatal and defeated Konrad Juszczyszyn of Poland in the championship match to claim the 20 ranking points. The win put Makkonen into second place on the Euro Tour ranking list, three points behind Niels Feijen. He also moved into third position on the Combined ranking list, a single point behind joint leaders Marcus Chamat and David Alcaide. There are three separate ranking lists in operation – the first comprised of a five event Euro Tour series; the second a four event ‘World’ series and the last a combined ranking of the two. 2nd March, 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Front Runners set out their stalls THE RACE FOR the three automatic spots on 2015 European PartyPoker Mosconi Cup team is well underway with two events on the nine event series having recently completed. Like last year, there are three separate ranking lists in operation – the first comprised of a five event Euro Tour series; the second a four event ‘World’ series and the last a combined ranking of the two. Last year’s MVP Niels Feijen (Holland) leads on the Euro Tour list, having won the Treviso Open in Italy at the weekend. Spain’s David Alcaide, a European team member in 2006, heads up both the ‘World’ list and the ‘Combined’ list, after reaching the last four of the recent WPA World 10 Ball Championship in the Philippines. Feijen wins Dynamic Billard Italian Open

Italian Open 2015 – 28/02/2015 With a clear 9:2 victory over Nick Malai (GRE) in the final match, Niels Feijen (NED) took the title of the Dynamic Billard Italian Open Champion 2015 at the Best Western Premium BHR Hotel in Treviso, Italy, today. Feijen left no chance for Malai in the final. In the beginning, Malai missed some easy shots which was punished by Feijen straight away. It looked like Malai got really frustrated, being in his chair for so long watching Feijen take rack after rack. In fact, Malai could not get a foot on the floor in the final match. Therefore, the result of 9:2 in favor of Feijen is fully deserved. After winning the 9-Ball World Championships and the straight pool European Championships last year, Feijen had his last Euro-Tour victory in June 2013 in Austria. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt Italian Open 2015 im Finale gegen Nick Malaj (GRE) mit 9-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Karl Boyes (GBR) und Mario He (AUT). Die Euro-Tour startet in das Jahr 2015 mit ihrem ersten Tour-Stop in Treviso. Die Italian Open 2015 finden vom 26. – 28. Februar im BHR Hotel in Treviso statt. Dieser Spieltort war bereits beim letzten Euro-Tour Event im Dezember Austragungsort und wird von der EPBF immer wieder gerne ausgesucht. Die Treviso Open 2014 gewann der derzeitige Leader im Euro-Tour Ranking Nick van den Berg (NED) im Finale gegen den amtierenden 9 Ball Weltmeister Niels Feijen (NED) mit 9-3. Nick van den Berg konnte damit bereits seinen neunten Euro-Tour Sieg feiern und liegt in dieser Bestenliste bereits auf Platz 4. Für die Italian Open 2015 haben bereits jetzt mehr als 150 Pool Billard Spieler aus ganz Europa gemeldet. Apostolis Alexandris (GRE) gewinnt Different 9 Ball Open 2014 im Finale gegen Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) mit 11-9. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Karl Boyes (GBR) und Alexander Kazakis (GRE). Stargast Shane Van Boening (USA) verliert im Viertelfinale gegen Alexander Kazakis (GRE) mit 11-9. Vom 24. – 27. April 2014 findet in Athen/Griechenland das Different 9 Ball Open 2014 statt. Als das 9 Ball Turnier vor einigen Wochen angekündigt wurde, war das staunen innerhalb der Szene ziemlich groß. Kein Geringerer als US Superstar Shane Van Boening wird in Athen an den Start gehen. Shane Van Boening zählt derzeit zu den besten Pool Billard Spielern überhaupt. Auf Einladung seines Freundes Nikos Ekonomopoulos lies sich „The South Dakota Kid“ nicht zweimal bitten. Es kommt recht selten vor das Shane Van Boening in Europa ist, lediglich zum Mosconi Cup oder World Pool Masters hat man die Chance diesen Ausnahmekönner Live zu erleben. „Thorsten Hohmann (GER) gewinnt nach 2003 seinen zweiten 9 Ball WM Titel im Finale gegen Antonio Gabica (PHI) mit 13-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Carlo Biado (PHI) und Karl Boyes (GBR)!“ Seit heute laufen in Doha/Qatar die Qualifikationsrunden (Stage 1) zum 128er Hauptfeld der diesjährigen 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft. Die World 9 Ball Championship 2013 wird wie im letzten Jahr im Al Arabi Sports Club in Doha stattfinden. Bereits in dieser Qualifikationsrunde sind einige sehr starke Spieler vertreten. Es wird auf 7 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak gespielt, um sich für die Hauptrunde (Stage 2) zu qualifizieren. Die Weltmeisterschaft geht somit vom 02. – 13. September 2013. Am 06. September startet dann das Hauptfeld in 16 Gruppen zu je 8 Spielern. In der Gruppenphase, die auf 9 Gewinnspiele gespielt wird, wird im Doppel-KO System bis zu den Letzten 4 gespielt. Diese 4 Spieler jeder Gruppe ziehen dann in die Endrunde der letzten 64 ein.
