Konstantin Stepanov (RUS) gewinnt North Cyprus Open 2013 im Finale gegen Daniele Corrieri (ITA) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Niels Feijen (NED) und Bruno Muratore (ITA)! Vom 10. – 12. Oktober 2013 findet nach etwa zweimonatiger Pause das nächste Euro-Tour Event statt. Die North Cyprus Open 2013 werden im Acapulco Holiday Resort in Kyrenia/North Cyprus ausgetragen. Sicherlich gibt es weniger einladende Orte um Pool Billard zu spielen 🙂 Im Vorjahr gewann Nick Malai aus Albanien im Finale gegen Albin Ouschan (AUT) mit 9-5 diese 9 Ball Veranstaltung. Auch bei diesem Euro-Tour Event werden erneut sehr viele europäische Topspieler am Start sein, auch wenn man feststellen muss, dass die Teilnehmerzahl deutlich geringer ist als sonst. Leider fehlen bei den North Cyprus Open 2013 auch einige der besten Pool Billard Spieler, die man eigentlich in Kyrenia erwartet hätte. 22nd September, 888.com World Cup of Pool 2013 Philippines edge the Dutch in World Cup thriller The Finals Philippines 10-8 Holland TEAM PHILIPPINES made up of Lee Vann Corteza and Dennis Orcollo became 888.com World Cup of Pool champions as they beat Holland in a thrilling conclusion after an action-packed final that illustrated the sheer excitement of top level pool. The match ebbed and flowed and reached a climactic final stage that saw both teams buckle before the Filipinos redeemed themselves sinking the 8 and 9 for the title and $60,000 top prize. It was the third win for the Philippines in the eight year history of the event, following wins for Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante in 2006 and 2009. The Philippines came through a real thriller over Chinese Taipei in a match that saw both teams enjoy extended periods of dominance while Holland endured a sticky first half before running away with it against the Finns. 21st September, 888.com World Cup of Pool 2013 Dutch and Finns through to last four Quarter Finals Finland 9-3 England B Holland 9-8 Japan HOLLAND AND FINLAND both made their way through to Sunday’s semi-finals of the 2013 888.com World Cup of Pool with wins over England B and Japan respectively and they will now face each other in the first semi-final on Sunday afternoon. The Dutch had to grind it out against Japan in a hill-hill thriller with both teams struggling at times, while the Finnish pair of Mika Immonen and Petri Makkonen looked in good shape against England B as their title defence continues. In the second match of the session, Japan and Holland both teams shared the opening racks as they tried not to give anything away with so much at stake. 20th September, 888.com World Cup of Pool 2013 Down to the last eight in London Round 2 Japan 7-6 USA Holland 7-5 India England A 7-5 Italy WITH TWO days play left at the 888.com World Cup of Pool, the tournament is down to the last eight teams as Japan, Holland and England A all recorded second round wins at the York Hall in London. With England B already through to the weekend’s quarter finals, the A team followed them in as they came from behind to beat the plucky Italian pairing of Bruno Muratore and Fabio Petroni. The Italians enjoyed some good fortune and before long they were 4-1 to the good as the English team of Karl Boyes and Darren Appleton sank deeper into their chairs. 17th September, 888.com World Cup of Pool 2013 England B, Holland and Philippines through Holland 7-2 Scotland England B 7-4 Portugal Philippines 7-4 Croatia THERE were wins for three of the fancied teams at the 888.com World Cup of Pool as England B, Holland and the Philippines all made their way into the second round as play continued at the York Hall in London. The Philippines pair of Dennis Orcollo and Lee Vann Corteza closed out the evening beating Croatia – Karlo Dalmatin and Ivica Putnik – 7-4. The Croatians were in with a chance as they stayed with their opponents in the early stages, but a succession of errors saw the team spirit drain away. With a strong Filipino contingent in the crowd, including the Ambassador, the duo from Manila completed the win. „Team Philippines gewinnt 2013 World Cup of Pool gegen Team Holland mit 10-8. In einem sehr spannenden Finale sind Lee Vann Corteza und Dennis Orcollo ein wenig stabiler und gewinnen gegen Nick van den Berg und Niels Feijen hochverdient. Den 3. Platz belegen die Teams aus Taiwan (Ko Pin-Yi & Chang Jung-Lin) und Finland (Mika Immonen & Petri Makkonen)!“ Vom 17. – 22. September 2013 findet in der Londoner York Hall das wohl aufregendste Pool Billard Event des Jahres statt, der World Cup of Pool. Nach 6 Jahren kehrt die Matchroom Sport Veranstaltung zurück in die legendäre York Hall. An die Stätte, in der im letzten Dezember die Europäer beim Mosconi Cup erfolgreich waren. „Sebastian Ludwig (GER) gewinnt Salzburg Open 2013 im Finale gegen Benjamin Heimmerer (GER) mit 7-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Ivica Putnik (CRO) und Miko Balazs (HUN)!“ Die Salzburg Open 2013 finden dieses Jahr vom 07. – 08. September 2013 statt. Das Pool Billard 9 Ball Turnier zählte bereits im letzten Jahr zu den Highlights im Kalender. Auch dieses Jahr sorgt der Veranstalter (PBC Salzburg) erneut für ein sehr gutes 128er Starterfeld und auch das Gesamtpreisgeld von 7.000 Euro kann sich sehen lassen. Diverse Sideevents, Gewinnspiele und eine Playersparty werden den Spielern und Zuschauern zusätzlich geboten. Im letzten Jahr gewann Stargast Niels Feijen aus den Niederlanden das Turnier im sehr schönen Billardcenter Kugelrund in Salzburg. Leider kann Niels Feijen in diesem Jahr seinen Titel nicht verteidigen, da zeitgleich in Doha/Qatar die 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaften stattfinden —> World 9 Ball Championship 2013. Gespielt wird in 2 Gruppen mit je 64 Teilnehmern bis zu den Letzten 16. Somit spielen am Finaltag 32 Spieler im Einfach-KO System bis zum Finale. „Thorsten Hohmann (GER) gewinnt nach 2003 seinen zweiten 9 Ball WM Titel im Finale gegen Antonio Gabica (PHI) mit 13-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Carlo Biado (PHI) und Karl Boyes (GBR)!“ Seit heute laufen in Doha/Qatar die Qualifikationsrunden (Stage 1) zum 128er Hauptfeld der diesjährigen 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft. Die World 9 Ball Championship 2013 wird wie im letzten Jahr im Al Arabi Sports Club in Doha stattfinden. Bereits in dieser Qualifikationsrunde sind einige sehr starke Spieler vertreten. Es wird auf 7 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak gespielt, um sich für die Hauptrunde (Stage 2) zu qualifizieren. Die Weltmeisterschaft geht somit vom 02. – 13. September 2013. Am 06. September startet dann das Hauptfeld in 16 Gruppen zu je 8 Spielern. In der Gruppenphase, die auf 9 Gewinnspiele gespielt wird, wird im Doppel-KO System bis zu den Letzten 4 gespielt. Diese 4 Spieler jeder Gruppe ziehen dann in die Endrunde der letzten 64 ein.
