2017 Mosconi Cup Team Europe – Chinakhov on the rise

14th August – 2017 Mosconi Cup Chinakhov’s great season continues RUSLAN CHINAKHOV, who earlier this year won a World Pool Series event in New York, added to his impressive resume as he took down the Dutch Open on the Euro Tour to give his 2017 Mosconi Cup chances a real boost. It was the first Euro Tour win for the ‘Siberian Express’ as he looks to become the second ever Russian player to compete in the Mosconi Cup – Konstantin Stepanov was a Euro winner back in 2007. The win puts Chinakhov up to fifth place on the ‘World’ list and in second place on a tightly packed ‘European’ leaderboard. Players currently filling the top spots are Joshua Filler and Ralf Souquet (both Germany) on the ‘World’ list and Holland’s Nick van den Berg on the European list. Unlike previous years there will be only two rankings instead of three. Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS) gewinnt Dutch Open 2017 im Finale gegen Christoph Reintjes (GER) mit 9-4. Den 3. Platz belegen Sergey Lutsker (RUS) und Albin Ouschan (AUT). Die Dutch Womens Open 2017 gewinnt Marharyta Fefilava (BLR) im Finale gegen Oliwia Czuprynska mit 7-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Eylul Kibaroglu (TUR) und Yvonne Ullmann (GER). Vom 10. – 13. August 2017 trifft sich in Leende/Niederlande die europäischen Pool Billard Elite um beim nächsten Euro-Tour Stopp einen weiteren Sieger zu ermitteln. Viele der besten Spieler Europas werden um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 36.000 Euro spielen. Bei den Dutch Open 2017 geht es nicht nur um viele Punkte für das Euro-Tour Ranking sondern auch um eine bessere Platzierung im Mosconi Cup Ranking. Das Euro-Tour Ranking wird derzeit vom amtierenden World Pool Masters Champion David Alcaide aus Spanien angeführt, dicht gefolgt von Mario He aus Österreich und Joshua Filler aus Deutschland. Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt US Open 10 Ball Championship 2017 im Finale gegen Warren Kiamco (PHI) mit 11-5. Den 3. Platz belegt Roberto Gomez (PHI). Alex Pagulayan (CAN) gewinnt US Open 8 Ball Championship 2017 im Finale gegen Shane Van Boening (USA) mit 10-9. Den 3. Platz belegt Dennis Orcollo (PHI). Ab dem kommenden Montag, den 17. Juli 2017 finden in Las Vegas die US Open 10 Ball Championship statt. Bis zum darauffolgenden Mittwoch, den 19. Juli 2017 werden viele internationale Top-Spieler um ein Preisgeld von ca. 85.000$ spielen. Im letzten Jahr wurden diese Wettbewerbe noch auf sogenannten Bar Tables (7 Fuß) ausgetragen. Die „kleinen“ Tische sind in den USA sehr beliebt, allerdings kann man z.B. in Europa mit dieser Tischgröße nicht viel anfangen. Dadurch sind die US Open 8 Ball und 10 Ball im Jahr 2016 ein wenig untergegangen. 18th June – 2017 Mosconi Cup Filler breaks through in China to go top JOSHUA FILLER, the 19-year-old from Germany, stunned the pool world as he took the China Open beating a string of world-class opponents in Shanghai. It was the youngster’s breakout victory and sends him soaring to the top of the Mosconi Cup Team Europe World ranking. Filler collected a massive 80 points for his victory and there were nine other Europeans in the points including semi-finalist Thorsten Hohmann who bagged 53. With the previous four events counting for both European and World Rankings, the European ranking stays the same. Taking place from Monday 4th to Thursday 7th December, the 2017 Mosconi Cup will take place at the prestigious Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.
