2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup – Shane and Bergman maintain top spots

21th April – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup FOLLOWING THE Super Billiards Expo 10 Ball Championship which concluded at the weekend, Shane Van Boening maintained his lead at the top of the 2015 PartyPoker USA Mosconi Cup ranking. Van Boening was the highest placed American, finishing in fourth spot and has now opened up a 23 point lead over his nearest rival, Justin Bergman who kept his second spot with a 17th place finish. Scott Frost, who has yet to compete in a Mosconi Cup, edged his way into the shake-up as he leap-frogged both Jeremy Sossei and Skyler Woodward to claim a tie for second. The event was won by Dennis Orcollo who beat Scotland$B!G(Js Jayson Shaw in a close run final. Shaw$B!G(Js high finish is another result which boosts his chances of a Team Europe wild card when both teams are finalised in October. Dennis Orcollo (PHI) gewinnt Open 10 Ball Pro Players Championship 2015 im Finale gegen Jayson Shaw (SCO) mit 13-12. Den 3. Platz belegt Shane Van Boening (USA). Eine der größten Billardveranstaltung auf der ganzen Welt startet am 16. April 2015. Die 23. Super Billiards Expo in Oaks, in der nähe von Philadelphia/USA, lockt jedes Jahr Tausende von Besuchern in das Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. Die Super Billiards Expo ist die wohl größte Billardmesse auf der Welt und es wird den Zuschauern eine Menge geboten. Viele der renommiertesten Billard Firmen werden Ihre Produkte präsentieren und selbstverständlich findet man an fast allen Ständen viele der gefragtesten Pool Professionals. Auch der deutsche Queuehersteller Arthur Queue wird in Philadelphia viele seiner erstklassigen Pool Billard Queues ausstellen. Arthur Queue bzw. 3rd March, 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Shane takes the early lead SHANE VAN BOENING, looking to make his ninth appearance in the PartyPoker USA Mosconi Cup, is the early leader in the nine tournament qualification series for the three automatic spots. So far, four events have been played and Van Boening carries a 12 point lead over second placed Justin Bergman, following a strong showing at the recent USBTC in Reno, which included winning the 9 ball division. The third automatic spot is currently occupied by Jeremy Sossei on 26 points, with Skyler Woodward and Scott Frost both snapping at his heels on 25 points. Players who finish in the top 32 in the qualifying events will receive ranking points and there are three categories of tournaments with differing amounts of points awarded accordingly. The next event in the series is the Super Billiards Expo which takes place from 16-19 April in Oaks, outside of Philadelphia. This is a Category2 event. In der Zeit vom 16. – 22. Februar 2015 findet in Reno/Nevada die 22. Auflage der US Bar Championships statt. Dieses Pool Billard Turnier ist in den USA eines der beliebtesten und zählt seit vielen Jahren zu den Highlights in den Staaten. Im Grand Sierra Resort & Casino werden drei Turniere innerhalb von einer Woche ausgetragen. Die Location zählt zum Besten, was man finden kann und auch die Organisation von CueSports International ist jedes Jahr aufs Neue vorbildlich. Diese Meisterschaften auf den kleinen Pool Billard Tischen (7 Fuß) haben in den USA eine lange Tradition und versprechen wie im letzten Jahr spannende und faszinierende Spiele. Die Tische werden von der Firma Diamond gestellt und unterscheiden sich von einem normalen 9 Fuß Turniertisch nur in ihrer Größe. Es ist ziemlich bemerkenswert, was viele der Topspieler auf solchen Tischen, mit diesem geringen Platz, für erstklassige Partien spielen. First Amateur WPBL Tournament held in Phoenix Scott Frost and Rodney Morris Host Bonus Ball Exhibition LAS VEGAS, NV (January 15, 2014) The World Professional Billiard Leagueheld their first amateur tournament in Phoenix, AZ on January 11, 2014. The tournament which featured the game of Bonus Ball, had a division for bothmen and women. Michael Bates owner of Bull Shooters hosted the event with the assistance of Tres Kane and Phoenix Fire captain Scott Frost. The facility which boasts 44 tables under 20,000 sq. ft. of space, drew 30 participants and numerous spectators. Fans and players gathered at noon for a two hour exhibition instructed by Frost, Chicago Rockets captain Rodney Morris and WPBL President Larry Chiborak. The exhibition consisted of teaching the six pocket amateur version of Bonus Ball. The rules for this version only require the use of one specialty shot, all six pockets and is handicapped for all amateurs to play.
