All Japan Championship 2018

Tomoo Takano (JAP) gewinnt die All Japan Championship 2018 im Finale mit 11-6 gegen seinen Landsmann Toru Kuribayashi. Den dritten Platz belegen Carlo Biado (PHI) und Ko Ping-Chung (TPE). In der Archaic-Hall von Hyogo haben die All Japan Championship 2018 begonnen. Es ist eines der wenigen großen WPA-Events bei dem 10-Ball gespielt wird. In den nächsten sechs Tagen kämpfen etliche Topstars der Poolwelt um Preisgeld und Titelehren. Ab morgen gibt es zum Start der Hauptrunde auch einen Livestream und Livescores aus Japan. Titelverteidiger sind Johann Chua bei den Männern und Chen Si-Ming im Damenfeld. Beide gehören natürlich auch in diesem Jahr zu den Titelanwärtern. Außerdem ist eine ganze Ladung asiatischer Topstars wie Chang Jung-Lin, Ko Pin-Yi oder Ko Ping-Chung aus Taiwan, Carlo Biado, Jeffrey Ignacio oder Roland Garcia von den Philippinen oder Japans Naoyuki Oi am Start. Kristina Tkach snatches second title for Russia this week

Kristina Tkach (RUS) just won the EPBF Treviso Open 2018 Women’s Euro-Tour event in the BHR Treviso Hotel, Italy. In the final match, she defeated Oliwia Czuprynska (POL) 7:0. After Fedor Gorst (RUS) winning the open event yesterday, this makes it a double victory weekend for Russia. Usually, the matches get tougher the deeper the athletes advance in the field. Looking at Tkach’s matches today, this impression is turned upside down. In the early morning, she fought her way through the match against Tina Vogelmann (GER) and won 7:5. Her next opponent was Christine Feldmann (SUI) who also snatched 5 racks from Tkach. Again, 7:5 was the final result in Tkach’s favour. Then Kristina Tkach encountered Jasmin Ouschan (AUT). This match was expected to be a fierce fight with Ouschan being the favourite player. But to the surprise of the audience, Tkach smashed Ouschan and took her down with 7:3 to advance into the final match of the EPBF Treviso Open. There, Oliwia Czuprynska was waiting. Fedor Gorst goes all the way

Fedor Gorst (RUS) has just won the Dynamic Billard Treviso Open 2018 with a thrilling 9:7 victory over Mateusz Sniegocki (POL) in the final match. It was Gorst’s first appearance in a final match of a Euro-Tour ever today. He made his way over elite players like Petri Makkonen (FIN), Mieszko Fortunski (POL), Ivo Aarts (NED) and Maximilian Lechner (AUT) into the final match. His opponent Mateusz Sniegocki had just played a really tough semi-final against his teammate Tomasz Kaplan (POL) and just sneaked over the finish-line with 9:8. So the clash in the final match was experience versus youth. Sniegocki has already three Euro-Tour titles under his belt and today was his fifth appearance in a final match. Gorst was the newbie. „I had nothing to lose really,“ stated Gorst after the match. „The odds were all in favour of Sniegocki so I could play my game and enjoy the final match“. Billard ist zurück im FREE TV – German Pool Masters wird auf Sport 1 ausgestrahlt

Es ist eine kleine Sensation. Nach vielen Jahren TV-Abstinenz wird deutsches Poolbillard wieder im frei empfangbaren Fernsehen gezeigt und das zur besten Sendezeit: Am Samstag, den 12. Januar strahlt Sport 1 um 19:15 Uhr die Highlights der Vorrundengruppen (27. – 30. Dezember) und die der Finalrunden (5. und 6. Januar) des 4. German Pool Masters aus. Für Poolbillard in Deutschland ist dies ein gewaltiger Sprung nach vorne. Er eröffnet nicht nur den Billardsportlerinnen und Billardsportlern hinsichtlich der Gewinnung externer Sponsoren gewaltige Chancen. Er kann auch den Vereinen durch die TV-Präsenz künftig zu einem deutlichen Mitgliederzuwachs verhelfen. Live verfolgen kann man das German Pool Masters auf www.sportdeutschland.tv und den bekannten Kanälen auf Facebook und Youtube. Die Anmeldung für das 4. German Pool Masters ist seit letzter Woche freigeschalten. Die Top-Platzierten der GT-Abschlussrangliste haben noch bis zum 28. November Zeit, sich ihren Startplatz zu sichern. Grabe takes down Kaci

In an intense but one-sided match, Denis Grabe (EST) took down Eklent Kaci (ALB) with 9:2 in the round of the last 32 players at the Dynamic Billard Treviso Open 2018 and sent the #1 ranked player home. The match, which was also streamed live and for free on the EPBF Facebook page, took an unexpected turn. Grabe won 5 of the first 6 racks and totally dominated Kaci. That scenario was not expected since in recent tournaments it was Kaci who normally dominated his opponents. The #1 ranked player in Europe and the World seemed to be completely off track in that match. When he scratched in rack 6 trailing 1:4, he smashed his cue stick on the table which led to a warning for unsportsmanlike conduct and a loss of one rack. Kaci took a time-out and tried to compose himself. But somehow it just was not his day today. He kept on missing easy shots and did not get into his game at all. „Business as usual“ for most favourites in Treviso

The first day of the Dynamic Billard Treviso Open 2018 did not provide too many surprises. #1 of the Euro-Tour rankings Eklent Kaci (ALB) had a walk in the park today. Smooth and easy victories over Finish young talent Micke Strom (FIN) with 9:0 and Wilhelm Georg (GER) 9:3 did not take too much of an effort from Kaci. The Albanian will meet Mariusz Skoneczny (POL) tomorrow at 14:00 in the winner’s qualification round. Just like Kaci, Mario He (AUT) was not really challenged today. He played Germany’s Thomas Lindloff and delivered almost perfect pool. „I’ve barely seen such perfect pool“, stated Lindloff on his facebook page after the match. „Mario has not missed any shot until he was 7:0 ahead of me, including 4 jump shots.“ „What a performance from Mario!“ He will play Daniele Corrieri (ITA) tomorrow morning at 09:00 local time in winner’s round 2. Around 09:00 CET tomorrow, the first matches of the Dynamic Billard Treviso Open 2018 will begin. 20 Dynamic III tables are set up on two floors and awaiting the contestants. As many as 174 athletes have enrolled in the open event while 43 women will play the EPBF Treviso Open, starting Saturday. Once again, the venue for the event is the BHR Treviso Hotel in Treviso, Italy. After taking the victory in the recent Euro-Tour event in Klagenfurt, Austria, Mario He (AUT) has closed in on #1 ranked Eklent Kaci (ALB) by 20 points only. Both will lose 330 points from last year’s event in Klagenfurt after this tournament so the duel here in Treviso for the victory of the 2018 Euro-Tour series is on between Kaci and He. Albin Ouschan (AUT), Wiktor Zielinski (POL) and Denis Grabe (EST) only have outsider chances to take the prestigious title. Ellerman is latest US Open qualifier

Mitch Ellerman made up for the disappointment of missing out on a Mosconi Cup spot by winning through to the 2019 US Open at the Las Vegas Cue Club on Saturday November 10. The 32 year-old who originally hails from Phoenix, AZ, beat Max Eberle twice; first in the hot seat match and then 13-3 in the final to secure his spot in the 43rd US Open 9 Ball Championship which runs at the Mandalay Bay from 21-26 April. There are several more qualifying events set for the Las Vegas Cue Club over the coming months. Further details will be available on this website in the coming weeks.

Eurotour Dynamic Billard Treviso Open 2018

Zum letzten Mal in diesem Jahr trifft sich die europäische Pool-Elite zur Eurotour. Vom 15.-17.11. steigen in Italien die Dynamic Billard Treviso Open 2018. Und natürlich hat auch dieses Event wieder jede Menge Brisanz zu bieten. Im Mittelpunkt steht der Showdown um die Gesamtführung in der Eurotour-Rangliste zwischen Eklent Kaçi (2680 Punkte) und Mario He (2660). Auch Albin Ouschan (2245) und Wiktor Zielinski (2150) haben noch theoretische Chancen auf die Spitze. Für einen Sieg gibt es 550 Ranglistenpunkte. Außerdem ist dieses letzte Eurotour-Event der laufenden Saison gleichzeitig das erste Qualifiaktions-Event für den Mosconi Cup 2019! Schon bevor der diesjährige Showdown im Ally Pally steigt, können schon wieder die ersten Zähler für das Mosconi Cup Team Europe des nächsten Jahres gesammelt werden. Zum Abschluss sieben neue Deutsche Meister

Am letzten Tag der Deutschen Billardmeisterschaften in Bad Wildungen standen nochmals sieben Entscheidungen auf dem Programm. Dabei avancierte das Finale im Dreiband der Herren auf dem Matchbillard zu einem echten Krimi. Der Spieltag hatte heute schon mit einem echten Knaller angefangen, denn Weltcupsieger Martin Horn (BC International Berlin) musste sich im Halbfinale seinem Vereinskollegen Hakan Celik mit 35:40 geschlagen geben. Das zweite Semifinale wiederum entschied Cengiz Karaca (ebenfalls BC International Berlin) mit 40:29 gegen Lukas Stamm (BA Berlin) für sich. Im Finale sah zunächst Karaca wie der Sieger aus, denn er erarbeitete sich eine stabile 26:9-Führung. Celik schlug aber zurück, erarbeitete sich kurz einen Vorsprung, lag dann wieder in Rückstand und ging bei 40:38 als Erster über die Ziellinie. Karaca hatte seinerseits aber den Nachstoß und glich aus. Damit ging es in die Verlängerung, in der Celik nur ein Punkt gelang.
