Thorsten Hohmann (GER) gewinnt The 75th World Tournament of 14.1 2015 im Finale gegen Titelverteidiger Darren Appleton (GBR) mit 300-244. Den 3. Platz belegen Reiner Wirsbitzki (GER) und Warren Kiamco (PHI). Am nächsten Montag startet in New York die 75. Ausgabe des World Tournament of 14.1 (Straight Pool). Vom 13. – 19. Juli 2015 werden im sehr bekannten Steinway Billiards viele der Besten Straight Pool Spieler der Welt an den Start gehen. Dieses von Dragon Promotions organisierte Pool Billard Event zählt zu den letzten wirklich großen 14.1 Veranstaltungen auf der ganzen Welt. Im Grunde ist diese Disziplin ziemlich stark vom Aussterben bedroht, wenn man sich die weltweite Turnierlandschaft anschaut. Irrtümlicherweise wird das World Tournament of 14.1 oft als Weltmeisterschaft bezeichnet. Dafür müsste es von der World Pool Billiard Association unterstützt werden und das Preisgeld eine bestimmte Höhe haben. Natürlich gibt es seitens der WPA noch einige Auflagen mehr, damit dieses 14.1 Turnier als offizielle WM durchgeht. Rodney Morris (USA) gewinnt Wyoming Open 10 Ball Masters im Finale gegen Corey Deuel (USA), den 3. Platz belegt Mika Immonen (FIN). Das Saratoga Masters (8 Ball & 9 Ball) gewinnt Johnny Archer (USA) im Finale gegen Corey Deuel (USA) mit 7-4, den 3. Platz belegt Rodney Morris (USA). In Saratoga/Wyoming finden vom 27. – 29. März 2015 die Andy Cloth Wyoming Open statt. Die 8. Ausgabe der Wyoming Open ist auch in diesem Jahr mit mehr als 150 Pool Billard Spielern fast ausgebucht. Die Wyoming Open sind ein Bar-Table Event und werden auf den in den USA sehr beliebten 7 Fuß Tischen ausgetragen. Neben den Main-Events, Masters Divison und Expert Divison werden auch die Wyoming State Junior Championship ausgetragen. Im letzten Jahr konnten sich Rodney Morris und Danny Olson die Titel in den Rocky Mountains sichern. Ga Young Kim (KOR) gewinnt Women’s International Pool Championship 2014 im Finale gegen Vivian Villarreal (USA) mit 17-10. Den 3. Platz belegen Jennifer Barretta (USA) und Denise Wilkinson (NZ). Vom 16. – 21. Dezember 2014 finden in New York die Women’s International Pool Championship 2014 statt. Dieses 10 Ball Damen Turnier wird gemeinsam von der WPBA und Dragon Promotions organisiert und seit mehreren Wochen intensiv im Internet beworben. Die Women’s International Pool Championship 2014 werden im sehr bekannten Steinway Billiards in New York City stattfinden und es gilt als Ersatz für die jährlich ausgetragene Damen 10 Ball Weltmeisterschaft. Dieses Turnier wurde zuerst nicht von der WPA sanktioniert, weil die WPA es nicht erlaubte dieses Event als Weltmeisterschaft zu bewerben. Es gab die Befürchtung, dass einige Spielerinnen durch Ihre Teilnahme mit Strafen belegt werden könnten. Dieser Umstand hat sich zum guten gewendet und es wird seitens der WPA zu keinen einwenden kommen. The 3rd Annual ANDY CLOTH HIGH DESERT SHOOTOUT returns to Rawlins, WY this weekend on September 26-28th, 2014 to the Jeffrey Memorial Community Center.
