Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS) gewinnt 2017 World Pool Series: 1st Series im Finale gegen Lee Vann Corteza (PHI) mit 16-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Johann Chua (PHI) und Darren Appleton (GBR). Am kommenden Samstag, den 14. Januar 2017 startet in New York das erste Event der neugegründeten World Pool Series. Die World Pool Series wurde vom ehemaligen 9 Ball Weltmeister und US Open 9 Ball Champion Darren Appleton aus Großbritannien ins Leben gerufen. Darren Appleton und sein Team haben den Anspruch formuliert Pool Billard in den Staaten wieder ein wenig Professioneller zu gestalten und legen den Fokus deutlich auf erhöhte Ausspielziele, ein ganz gutes Preisgeld sowie u.a. einige Anpassungen in Form eines Shoot-Out’s bei Gleichstand. Auch der Gebrauch des Jump-Shots wird deutlich eingeschränkt, pro Partie darf jeder Spieler lediglich zweimal zum Jump Queue greifen, sehr interessant wie wir finden. Jayson Shaw (SCO) gewinnt Turning Stone Classic XXVII im Finale gegen Rodney Morris (USA) mit 13-6. Den 3. Platz belegt Dennis Hatch (USA). Vom 05. – 08. Januar 2017 findet in Verona, New York eines der ersten Top Pool Billard Events des neuen Jahres in den USA statt. Das Turning Stone Classic gehört seit Jahren für viele der besten Pool Billard Spieler zum jährlichen Turnierkalender dazu. Dieses 9 Ball Turnier wird zweimal im Jahr ausgetragen, einmal im Januar und dann noch einmal im August. Im letzten Sommer gewann der viermalige Champion Jayson Shaw aus Schottland das Finale gegen die Überraschungsfinalistin Karen Corr aus Irland mit 13-5 –> Turning Stone Classic XXVI. Ab dem kommenden Donnerstag geht in Verona ein sehr starkes 128er Teilnehmerfeld an den Start und wird um ein Gesamtpreisgeld von mehr als 40.000$ spielen. Davon sind 25.000$ added Money. 9th December – 2016 Betfair Mosconi Cup Europe 11 – 3 USA Jayson Shaw 5 – 1 Mike Dechaine THE EUROPEANS needed just one match to retain the 2016 Betfair Mosconi Cup as Jayson Shaw had the honour of potting the winning 9 ball as he eased past Mike Dechaine 5-1 to spark wild celebrations at the Alexandra Palace. Team Europe entered the fray carrying a 10-3 lead after dominating the first three days of the competition and they delivered a crushing defeat to an American side that looked out of their depth at times in front of a very vocal 2,000 strong crowd. Shaw, who came into the event on the back of a run of brilliant form, never looked too comfortable over the first three days. However, he came with some terrific shots to banish Dechaine to the sidelines and secure the European’s seventh consecutive victory. It was the worst possible start to the event for the Americans who have not won the Mosconi Cup since 2009. MVP der Veranstaltung wurde der amtierende 9 Ball Weltmeister Albin Ouschan aus Österreich. Am kommenden Dienstag, den 06. Dezember beginnt in London das aufregendste Pool Billard Event des Jahres. Bis zum darauffolgenden Freitag, den 09. Dezember wird der Mosconi Cup 2016 auch in diesem Jahr alle Pool Billard Fans auf der Welt in zwei Lager spalten. Dieser Kontinentalvergleich zwischen einem Team aus Europa und den USA geht in seine 23. Ausgabe und findet dieses Jahr im Alexandra Palace statt. Der Austragungsort ist u.a. auch bekannt durch die jährlich stattfindenden Darts WM. Wie immer wird der Veranstalter Matchroom Sport für ein Spektakel sorgen und einige der besten Spieler der Welt werden Teil dieses Events sein. 9th November – 2016 Mosconi Cup Europe team set for Ally Pally fireworks JAYSON SHAW closed out a memorable qualifying campaign for this year’s Mosconi Cup as he won the final event – the Kuwait Open 9 Ball – to win both the Combined and World ranking lists. That gave the US-based Scot his first ever Mosconi Cup start and he will enter the fray on a wave of confidence. With Niels Feijen having taken the Euro ranking list spot, it meant that the final automatic berth on Team Europe reverted to the Combined list, and it was England’s Mark Gray who took it to make his third Mosconi Cup appearance, eight years after his debut in Malta. For his wildcard picks, captain Marcus Chamat went firstly for Austria’s Albin Ouschan who had another stand-out year, winning the World 9 Ball Championship in Qatar. Jayson Shaw (SCO) gewinnt 5th Annual Steinway Classic 2016 im Finale gegen Shane Van Boening (USA) mit 15-11. Den 3. Platz belegt Carlo Biado (PHI). Unmittelbar nach den US Open 9 Ball Championships 2016 startet heute die 5. Ausgabe der Steinway Classic in New York. Bis zum nächsten Mittwoch, den 26. Oktober wird ein Großteil der Pool Billard Weltelite im Steinway Classic am Start sein. Natürlich werden fast alle Teilnehmer der US Open 9 Ball Championships dieses 10 Ball Event noch mitnehmen bevor sie die Heimreise antreten. Im letzten Jahr gewann Chang Yu-Lung aus Taiwan das Finale gegen Ko Ping-Chung, ebenfalls Taiwan, mit 13-11 —> 4th Annual Steinway Classic 2015. Dieses Turnier ist Teil der Predator Pro/Am Tour und zählt mittlerweile zu den besten Events in den USA. Einen Favoriten zu bestimmen ist natürlich kaum möglich und sparen wir uns an dieser Stelle.
