Preview: 2nd Annual 2014 Deurne City Classic 12.03.2014 – Deurne/Netherlands At this moment in time the Deurne City Classic is the biggest pool events held in The Netherlands. It’s strongly based on the well-known Derby City Classic, one of world’s biggest most visited tournaments. Organized and sponsored by Diamond Billiards Inc. at the Horseshoe Casino and Hotel in Southern Indiana. The Derby hosts world’s biggest one-pocket and bankpool event with more than 800 players visiting every year. A 24/7 greenroom where high-stakes gambling between local players and foreign superstars are being watched on internet live-streams all over the world. Winners of the Derby are mostly BCA Hall-of-Famers or international celebs like Efren Reyes, Grady Matthews, Shannon Daulton, John Brumback, Freddy ‘The Beard’ Bentivegna and recently Shane Van Boening has dominated the entire event. Bereits seit einigen Monaten geistert der Titel „Raising the Hustler“ durch das Internet. Was es damit auf sich hat, kann man den folgenden Zeilen entnehmen. Ich habe Angel Levine (Regisseurin von Raising the Hustler) aus Chicago darum gebeten einige Zeilen für Sixpockets.de zu schreiben, um uns einen kleinen Einblick in dieses spannende Projekt zu geben. Angel Levine ist in den USA eine der bekanntesten Persönlichkeiten in der Pool Billard Szene und hat in Ihrem Leben viele Events auf der ganzen Welt besucht. Ich bin wirklich sehr gespannt auf diese Dokumentation und kann es kaum erwarten. Im nächsten Jahr soll Raising the Hustler beim Sundance Film Festival vorgestellt werden. Shane Van Boening gewinnt TAR 39 gegen Efren Reyes insgesamt mit 3-0. Am letzten Tag gewann Van Boening das 9 Ball Match mit 25-16. Dies war das letzte Match von The Action Report, die Veranstalter werden sich in Zukunft anderen Projekten zuwenden. Am kommenden Wochenende vom 07. – 09. Februar findet bereits das zweite Showmatch des Jahres von The Action Report statt. Diesmal treffen Shane Van Boening (USA) und Efren Reyes (PHI) aufeinander. Beide Spieler befinden sich derzeit in Topform wie Ihre Siege beim Derby City Classic 2014 bewiesen haben. Shane Van Boening gewann den 9 Ball Titel und Efren Reyes sicherte sich die Trophäe des One Pocket Wettbewerbs. Van Boening geht als leichter Favorit in die 39. Ausgabe von The Action Report. Efren Reyes konnte die Disziplinen bestimmen. Es wird am Freitag One Pocket bis 11 gespielt, am Samstag folgt dann ein Match Rotation und am Sonntag ein Satz 9 Ball auf 25 Gewinnspiele. Derby City Classic 2014

In der Zeit vom 24. Januar bis 01. Februar 2014 findet im Horseshoe Casino in Indiana/USA die 16. Auflage des Derby City Classic statt. Auch in diesem Jahr ist das DCC eines der wichtigsten und spannendsten Pool Billard Events des Jahres. Über eine ganze Woche wird Pool Billard total geboten. Drei Hauptevents und zig Sideevents lassen keine Langeweile aufkommen. Die drei Hauptveranstaltungen sind 9 Ball Bank, One Pocket und 9 Ball. Die erfolgreichsten Teilnehmer aller Hauptevents kommen für den Titel „All Around Champion“ infrage und haben somit eine Chance auf das Preisgeld von 25.000$. Im letzten Jahr sicherte sich Francisco Bustamante (PHI) diesen Titel. Die spannendsten Sideevents sind die Straight-Pool Challenge und die DIAMOND Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge, bei der es immerhin 16.000$ added Money abzustauben gibt. Das Gesamtpreisgeld des Derby City Classic 2014 liegt bei etwa 200.000$. Nahezu die gesamte Weltelite wird in Indiana am Start sein und versuchen einen guten Start ins Jahr 2014 zu haben. The Last Showdown – Efren Reyes vs. Earl Strickland

Ab dem kommenden Dienstag, den 14. Januar 2014 findet im Steinway Billiards in Astoria/New York ein Showmatch zwischen zwei Legenden der Pool Billard Szene statt. An drei aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen spielen Efren Reyes von den Philippinen und der Amerikaner Earl Strickland ein Showmatch auf drei Sätze bis mindestens 17 in den Disziplinen 8 Ball, 9 Ball und 10 Ball. Pro Tag wird ein Satz gespielt und der Gewinner erhält 3.000$. Das Match dieser beiden Giganten steht unter dem Motto „The Last Showdown“ und wird von Insidepool.tv via Livestream übertragen und pro Tag 10$ kosten. Ko Pin-Yi (TW) gewinnt 46th All Japan Championship 2013 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 11-10. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Thorsten Hohmann (GER) und Johann Gonzales Chua (PHI). Bei den Damen gewinnt Akimi Kajitani (JAP) im Finale gegen Chihiro Kawahara (JAP) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Tsai Pei Chen (TW) und Chou Chieh Yu (TW). Morgen beginnt in Amagasaki City, Hyogo/Japan die 46. Ausgabe der All Japan Championship 2013. Bei diesem recht hoch dotierten Turnier in Japan ist es jedes Jahr aufs Neue sehr schwer an Informationen zu kommen. Scheinbar legt man in Japan keinerlei Wert darauf das die Pool Billard Seiten dieser Welt mit Informationen versorgt werden. Leider wird auch auf Emails in keinster Weise geantwortet. Vieles bleibt im verborgenen und muss mühsam im Internet zusammengesucht werden. Die 46. There were wins for Finland, Canada and Taiwan as Mika Immonen, Alex Pagulayan and Chang Jung-lin all enjoyed victories. There are two more first round matches to take place this evening in the three day $66,000 event but the final match of the session saw an England v Taiwan clash as Blackpool’s Daryl Peach met Chang Jung-lin, the 2012 World 8 Ball Champion and it ended in a close victory for the Taiwanese after he clawed back a big deficit. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt 2013 PartyPoker.com World Pool Masters im Finale gegen Darren Appleton (GBR) mit 8-6 und sichert sich damit den ersten World Pool Masters Titel seiner Karriere. Vom 25. – 27. Oktober 2013 findet in Barnsley/Großbritannien die 21. Auflage des World Pool Masters statt. Im Barnsley Metrodome präsentiert Matchroom Sport ein weiteres Pool Billard Event der Spitzenklasse. Das Einladungsturnier bringt jedes Jahr eine Auswahl der besten Spieler der Welt zusammen und verspricht Pool Billard auf höchstem Niveau.
