5th Annual Hard Times 10 Ball Open 2014

Dennis Orcollo (PHI) gewinnt 5th Annual Hard Times 10 Ball Open 2014 im Finale gegen Ruben Bautista (PHI) mit 11-9. Den 3. Platz belegt Warren Kiamco (PHI). Am nächsten Wochenende findet in Bellflower/Kalifornien die 5. Ausgabe der Hard Times 10 Ball Open statt. In der Zeit vom 11. – 13. Juli 2014 treffen sich in einer der beliebtesten Billardhallen Amerikas viele internationale Topstars der Szene. Die Hard Times Open waren bereits im letzten Jahr ein sehr erfolgreiches Turnier mit einem ziemlich starken Teilnehmerfeld. 2013 gewann das Finale Carlo Biado von den Philippinen gegen Alex Pagulayan aus Kanada mit 11-1. Gespielt wird dieses Jahr ein 96er Teilnehmerfeld in einem Double Elimination System bis zum Finale. Alle Matches werden auf 9 Gewinnspiele gespielt. Was dieses Turnier so besonders macht, ist die Atmosphäre des Hard Times und das nicht ganz so leicht zu spielende Material. Immerhin gibt es neben dem Preisgeld noch 5.000$ added Money. Ralf Souquet (GER) gewinnt Interpool Open 2014 im Finale gegen Mika Immonen (FIN) mit 11-10. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Francisco Bustamante (PHI) und Daniel Tangudd (SWE). Vom 17. – 20. April 2014 findet in Gävle/Schweden die 2014er Ausgabe der Interpool Open statt. Bereits seit einigen Jahren ist dieses Turnier ein Highlight im Turnierkalender vieler Topspieler aus ganz Europa und dem Rest der Welt. Natürlich kommt der Großteil der Teilnehmer aus Skandinavien, aber dazu gesellen sich stets einige der besten Spieler der Welt. Der Turniermodus ist recht außergewöhnlich, es wird 9 Ball mit Handicap gespielt. Jedes Match geht bis 11, aber je nach Konstellation ist es möglich das ein Spieler bereits vor dem ersten Stoß 0-8 hinten liegt. Und dennoch haben sich in den letzten Jahren zumeist die Favoriten durchgesetzt. Titelverteidiger ist Mika Immonen aus Finnland, er bezwang im Vorjahr Andreas Gerwen (SWE) mit 11-6. In der Zeit vom 24. Januar bis 01. Februar 2014 findet im Horseshoe Casino in Indiana/USA die 16. Auflage des Derby City Classic statt. Auch in diesem Jahr ist das DCC eines der wichtigsten und spannendsten Pool Billard Events des Jahres. Über eine ganze Woche wird Pool Billard total geboten. Drei Hauptevents und zig Sideevents lassen keine Langeweile aufkommen. Die drei Hauptveranstaltungen sind 9 Ball Bank, One Pocket und 9 Ball. Die erfolgreichsten Teilnehmer aller Hauptevents kommen für den Titel „All Around Champion“ infrage und haben somit eine Chance auf das Preisgeld von 25.000$. Im letzten Jahr sicherte sich Francisco Bustamante (PHI) diesen Titel. Die spannendsten Sideevents sind die Straight-Pool Challenge und die DIAMOND Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge, bei der es immerhin 16.000$ added Money abzustauben gibt. Ko Pin-Yi (TW) gewinnt 46th All Japan Championship 2013 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 11-10. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Thorsten Hohmann (GER) und Johann Gonzales Chua (PHI). Bei den Damen gewinnt Akimi Kajitani (JAP) im Finale gegen Chihiro Kawahara (JAP) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Tsai Pei Chen (TW) und Chou Chieh Yu (TW). Morgen beginnt in Amagasaki City, Hyogo/Japan die 46. Ausgabe der All Japan Championship 2013. Bei diesem recht hoch dotierten Turnier in Japan ist es jedes Jahr aufs Neue sehr schwer an Informationen zu kommen. Scheinbar legt man in Japan keinerlei Wert darauf das die Pool Billard Seiten dieser Welt mit Informationen versorgt werden. Leider wird auch auf Emails in keinster Weise geantwortet. Saturday in blazing hot Doha, Qatar was, except for one match right at the end, not one of those days. 96 players out of the 128 in the field vying for 9-ball supremacy saw action today inside the icy cold Al Arabi Sports Club, and by and large the story line for the eight hours of play hardly veered from a predictable script. 3rd September 2013 World Cup of Pool Philippines up for the job WITH THE 2013 World Cup of Pool set to take place in London from 17-22 September, it’s no surprise that leading UK bookmaking firm William Hill have installed the super-talented Filipino pairing of Dennis Orcollo and Lee Vann Corteza as joint favourites at 8/1 along with the USA. The deadly duo from Manila, currently world ranked #2 and #3 respectively, are certainly one of the in-form pairs competing for the $60,000 top prize when 32 two-player teams from all over the world convene at the York Hall for the six day event. Although the Philippines have won this event on two occasions in its seven year history, both times it was the pairing of Pinoy pool legends Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante who claimed the glory.
