With England B already through to the weekend’s quarter finals, the A team followed them in as they came from behind to beat the plucky Italian pairing of Bruno Muratore and Fabio Petroni. 18th September, 888.com World Cup of Pool 2013 US, Singapore through as India win thriller USA 7-5 Kuwait Singapore 7-5 Poland India 7-6 Canada THERE WAS some superb drama at the 888.com World Cup of Pool this evening as India came through a hill-hill thriller against Canada to move through to the next round where they will meet Holland on Friday evening. The York Hall was packed to the rafters with fired-up Indian fans and their team gave them plenty to cheer about in the end. Earlier in the evening, Team USA overcame an early stutter to find their feet and comeback to beat Kuwait to advance to the last 16 of the 888.com World Cup Pool. Shane Van Boening was a little anxious in advance as his partner Johnny Archer had left it very late to arrive in London but all was well in the end as they looked a smooth unit in the closing stages. In einem sehr spannenden Finale sind Lee Vann Corteza und Dennis Orcollo ein wenig stabiler und gewinnen gegen Nick van den Berg und Niels Feijen hochverdient. Den 3. The two titans of 14.1 faced off for the right to play one match for the title once again. The stars are inching closer to the oldest title in the world. New York, New York – The Ice Man is heating up. Mika Immonen ran his second century with a 102 ball run against Johnny Archer. The win advanced Mika to the final 16 and eliminated Archer from the World Tournament. It is the first time Archer has not made it to the final stage of the event. This year’s World Tournament of 14.1 has seen the 48 invited players narrowed down to 16 and now battling in the final single elimination stage races to 200. Im Steinway Billiards in Astoria/New York wird ein erstklassiges Teilnehmerfeld vom 25. – 27. August bei diesem 10 Ball Event um den Titel kämpfen. Das Preisgeld wird mehr als 15.000$ Dollar betragen und davon sind alleine 7.000$ added Money. Die 2. „Thorsten Hohmann (GER) gewinnt The 73rd World Tournament of 14.1 im Finale gegen Darren Appleton (GBR) mit 200-164. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Francisco Bustamante (PHI) und John Schmidt (USA). Im Halbfinale gewann Thorsten Hohmann gegen John Schmidt mit 200-18 und Darren Appleton gegen Francisco Bustamante mit 200-1, dabei gelang Appleton eine 200er Serie!“ Vom 19. – 24. August 2013 findet im Steinway Billiards in Astoria/New York die 73. Ausgabe des World Tournament of 14.1 statt. Das von Dragon Promotions organisierte 14.1 (Straight Pool) Event wird auch als die inoffizielle Weltmeisterschaft in dieser Disziplin gehandelt. In den letzten Jahren gab es immer weniger Straight Pool Turniere aufgrund des immer geringer werdenden Interesses. It was Holland’s Nick van den Berg who dropped the final 9 ball of the four day event to spark wild scenes of celebration. The Americans were on the floor after the Wednesday night session, trailing 9-6 going into the final day but they dug deep and turned the tide as they won the first three matches to level it at 9-9 and make it anyone’s match. „Team Europa gewinnt den Mosconi Cup 2012 nach hochdramatischen 4 Tagen mit 11-9. MVP der Veranstaltung wird Chris Melling!“ Vom 10. – 13. Dezember 2012 findet in der Londoner York Hall das absolute Pool Billard Topevent des Jahres statt. Der Mosconi Cup 2012 geht in seine 19. Auflage und die Europäer werden alles geben, um den Sieg vom Vorjahr zu wiederholen. Im letzten Jahr war das Match zwischen den USA und Europa in Las Vegas ein relativ einseitiges. Die Europäer dominierten vom 1. Tag an und waren in allen Belangen den Spielern aus Amerika überlegen. Europa gewann den Mosconi Cup 2011 mit 11-7. Dieses Jahr sind die Amerikaner, die insgesamt 12-mal gewonnen haben nur leichter Außenseiter in London. Das US-Team wird angeführt vom sogenannten Non-Playing Captain CJ Wiley, bei den Europäern ist es wie in den Jahren zuvor Johan Rujsink aus den Niederlanden. Die Spieler der USA (in Klammern die bisherigen Mosconi Cup Teilnahmen) sind Shane Van Boening (5), aktueller US Open 9 Ball Champion, der in den letzten Wochen auf überragenden Niveau gespielt hat.
