18th June – 2017 Mosconi Cup Filler breaks through in China to go top JOSHUA FILLER, the 19-year-old from Germany, stunned the pool world as he took the China Open beating a string of world-class opponents in Shanghai. It was the youngster’s breakout victory and sends him soaring to the top of the Mosconi Cup Team Europe World ranking. Filler collected a massive 80 points for his victory and there were nine other Europeans in the points including semi-finalist Thorsten Hohmann who bagged 53. With the previous four events counting for both European and World Rankings, the European ranking stays the same. Taking place from Monday 4th to Thursday 7th December, the 2017 Mosconi Cup will take place at the prestigious Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. The 19-year-old kid ousted an impressive list of big names in the World of Pool to finally eliminate Jung-Lin Chang (TPE) in the final match. „When I went to China“, stated Filler, „my goal was making it through the group stages. I thought that the field was stronger than in a World Championship and the equipment we play on gives an advantage to the Chinese players since they are used to it.“ „I felt good from the start. Joshua Filler (GER) gewinnt World 9 Ball China Open 2017 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 11-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Thorsten Hohmann (GER) und Cheng Yu-Hsuan (TW). Bei den Damen gewinnt Chen Siming (CHN) im Finale gegen Liu Shasha (CHN) mit 9-8. Den 3. Platz belegen Fu Xiaofang (CHN) und Chezka Centeno (PHI). Morgen beginnen in Shanghai die World 9 Ball China Open 2017. Die China Open zählen seit Jahren zu den größten Pool Billard Events auf der ganzen Welt. Für die meisten ist dieses Turnier die größtmögliche Herausforderung und der vielleicht größte Titel den man in seiner Karriere gewinnen kann. Nahezu die gesamte Weltelite wird bis zum 11. Juni um diesen begehrten Titel spielen, das Gesamtpreisgeld bei Damen und Herren zusammen beträgt mehr als 370.000$. Titelverteidiger bei den Herren ist Wu Jiaqing aus China, der zweifache Weltmeister gewann im Vorjahr gegen Cheng Yu-Hsuan aus Taiwan mit 11-4. 22nd May – 2017 Mosconi Cup He wins as VDB goes top Nick van den Berg leapfrogged Ralf Souquet to take pole position on the European Mosconi Cup rankings after the Eurotour Austrian Open. Van den Berg collected 23 points for reaching the last eight of the tournament, where he fell to eventual finalist Francisco Sanchez Ruiz of Spain. Mario He rises to fourth after collecting the title. Albin Ouschan, MVP at last year’s Mosconi Cup, climbs into the top ten as a beaten semi-finalist while the other defeated semi-finalist, Joshua Filler, moves up two places to eighth. Unlike previous years there will be only two rankings instead of three. The first will be the ‘European Ranking’ which includes the five European ‘A’ and five European ‘B’ events. 20/05/2017 Mario He takes the title on home turf Austria’s Mario He just clearly defeated Francisco Sanchez-Riuz (ESP) with 9:2 in the final match of the Dynamic Billard Austrian Open in Alpina Wellness & Sports Hotel, St. Johann i.Pg., Austria. Mario He’s way into the final could not have been longer. He lost his opening match and had to take the long road through the loser’s side. Then, in the single elimination stage, he eliminated Tomasz Kaplan (POL) 9:8, Daryl Peach (GBR) 9:3, Marco Teutscher (NED) 9:4 and in the semi-final his teammate Albin Ouschan (AUT) 9:8. Sanchez’ way into the final match led over victories over Mark Gray (GBR) 9:2, Konstantin Stepanov (RUS) 9:6, Nick van den Berg (NED) 9:5 and in the semi-final Joshua Filler (GER) 9:7. Die Austria Womens Open 2017 gewinnt Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) im Finale gegen Veronika Ivanovskaia (GER) mit 7-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Kristina Tkach (RUS) und Tina Vogelmann (GER). Die anspruchsvollste Pool Billard Tour der Welt macht ihren nächsten Stopp in Österreich. Die Austria Open 2017 finden vom 18. – 20. Mai 2017 in St. Johann statt. Mit mal wieder mehr als 160 Teilnehmern ist das Starterfeld dieser Euro-Tour erneut sehr gut besetzt, bis auf wenige Ausnahmen wird auch diese Veranstaltung die besten Pool Billard Spieler Europas an die Tische bringen. Nach einer etwas längeren Pause gibt es an dieser Stelle mal wieder ein Interview mit einer sehr interessanten deutschen Pool Billard Spielerin. Unsere Gesprächspartnerin ist Pia Blaeser aus Mausbach bei Aachen. Pia gehört seit einiger Zeit zum erweiterten Kreis der deutschen Top Pool Billard Spielerinnen und zählt zu den talentiertesten Spielerinnen in Deutschland überhaupt. Pia ist knapp 19 Jahre jung und verfügt dennoch über einiges an Erfahrung. Vor einigen Wochen war sie in Taiwan bei einem der größten Damenevents auf der ganzen Welt, der Amway eSpring 9 Ball Championship. Dieses Turnier ist nach der 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft der Damen eines der erstrebenswertesten Ziele einer jeden Pool Billard Spielerin. Pia Blaeser begann mit dem Pool Billard bei der BSG Mausbach und ist derzeit bei einem der bekanntesten und erfolgreichsten Pool Billard Vereine in Deutschland, dem BC Alsdorf, Mitglied. 10th April – 2017 Mosconi Cup Souquet consolidates position at the top GERMANY’S RALF SOUQUET tightened his grip at the top of the European 2017 Mosconi Cup rankings with another great performance as he finished in the top four of the recent Portuguese Open in Salgados. With no ‘World’ events having taken place yet, the ‘European’ and ‘World’ rankings are currently one and the same and the Kaiser has opened up a 45 points lead over third spot. Souquet has already appeared in more Mosconi Cups than any other European player (16) and will looking to return to the side for his first appearance since 2013. 01/04/2017 Van den Berg and Ouschan win the Portuguese Dynamic Open The winners of the Portuguese Dynamic Billard Open are Nick van den Berg (NED) and Jasmin Ouschan (AUT). Nick van den Berg had a huge mountain to climb today. He had really big obstacles in the way on his quest for the glory. Before he met David Alcaide (ESP) in the final match, he had to overcome Vitaly Patsura (UKR) in a heartbreaker with 9:8, then Tomasz Kaplan (POL) 9:6 and in the semi-final match Mark Gray (GBR) with 9:3. Van den Berg played extremely well and solid and this also continued in the final match. Alcaide could not get into the match and missed a few easy shots in the early stage of the match. That brought van den Berg in advance. Alcaide had started a few attempts for a comeback and it looked like he would be able to make the match closer again.
