Denis Grabe (EST) gewinnt Austria Open 2014 im Finale gegen Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) mit 9-1. Den 3. Platz belegen Nick van den Berg (NED) und Niels Feijen (NED). Am kommenden Donnerstag, den 22. Mai 2014 findet der nächste Euro-Tour Stop in Sankt Johann/Österreich statt. Im sehr schönen Alpina Wellness & Sporthotel treffen bis zum Finaltag am 24. Mai 2014 so ziemlich die besten Pool Billard Spieler Europas aufeinander, um den Champion der Austria Open 2014 zu ermitteln. Bereits im Vorjahr fanden die Austria Open an gleicher Spielstätte statt und den Titel 2013 sicherte sich der Niederländer Niels Feijen. Im Finale 2013 bezwang er Alexander Kazakis aus Griechenland deutlich mit 9-4. Das Gesamtpreisgeld dieser 9 Ball Veranstaltung beträgt 34.000 Euro und natürlich werden auch bei diesem Tour Stop wichtige Punkte für das europäischen Mosconi Cup Team verteilt. Mittlerweile sind knapp 160 Teilnehmer gemeldet und zu den Favoriten zählen u.a. Ralf Souquet aus Deutschland der vor einigen Wochen die letzte Euro-Tour auf Zypern für sich entscheiden konnte. As all of you probably noticed I’ve worked hard to get this edition of DCC right up there with the biggest tournaments in Europe and on the international stage. Therefore I had to get it noticed by a lot of people.. you be the judge whether I succeeded in doing my job. I know that from time to time it must have been a little but annoying to get spammed and notified every single day for the past few months, but in my opinion just a marginal downside of things, it’s simply the way marketing works nowadays. BC Oberhausen erneut Deutscher Mannschaftsmeister

Der BC Oberhausen ist Deutscher Mannschaftsmeister 2014. Zum fünften Mal in Folge sichert sich der BC den Titel in der stärksten Pool Billard Liga Europas. Allerdings war es in diesem Jahr ein besonderes „Drama“ und nicht wie in den vergangenen Jahren eine klare Angelegenheit. Die Mannschaft mit Andreas Roschkowsky, Niels Feijen, Lars Kuckherm, Ramazan Dincer und Rene Schaerf war am letzten Spieltag auf einen überraschenden Punktverlust des Konkurrenten aus Straubing angewiesen. Trotz der Niederlage mit 2-6 beim BSV Dachau gelang es BCO die Meisterschaft einzufahren. Die Straubinger spielten zur gleichen Zeit beim stark ersatzgeschwächten BSV Wuppertal, wo es nur zu einem Unentschieden reichte. Ausgerechnet Nick van den Berg auf Seiten der Straubinger konnte die letzte entscheidende Partie gegen Andre Obst nicht für sich entscheiden und letztendlich reicht es damit für Fortuna Straubing nur zum 3. Platz. Glückwunsch nach Oberhausen zu dieser verdienten, wenn auch knappen Deutschen Meisterschaft. In die 2. Bundesliga steigen die Mannschaften des BSV Wuppertal und der BSG Osnabrück ab. 1. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt 2014 PREDATOR Deurne City Classic im Finale gegen Joshua Filler (GER) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz belegen Moritz Lauwereyns (BEL) und Konrad Piekarski (POL). Die Ergebnisse zu den Side-Events gibt es weiter unten. Eines der Pool Billard Highlights des Jahres 2014 in Europa, findet vom 09. – 11. Mai in Deurne/Niederlande statt. Die 2. Ausgabe des Deurne City Classic ist ein äußerst ambitioniertes Projekt. Vorbild dieser Veranstaltung ist das weltweit sehr beliebte und bekannte Derby City Classic, das jedes Jahr im Januar ausgetragen wird. Das Besondere an dieser Veranstaltung ist die Vielzahl an Side-Events und weiteren kleinen Challenges neben dem Hauptevent. Appleton loses to Souquet in 9-Ball In his first appearance on European soil, Darren Appleton (GBR) lost his first match to Ralf Souquet (GER) with 7:9. It was not necessarily a lucky draw for Appleton. After having achieved so many titles abroad since he moved to the US in 2011, Appleton came back to Europe to compete in the 9-ball division of the Dynamic Billard European Championships and in the Euro-Tour which follows right after the EC. He drew Ralf Souquet in his first round match. The match was a highlight for all fans and spectators. However, Souquet controlled most of the match and was leading big time. He even went on the hill, being 8:3 up on Appleton in a race to nine. That looked like a clear victory for the German. But Appleton is known to never give up. Ralf Souquet (GER) gewinnt North Cyprus Open 2014 im Finale gegen Karl Boyes (GBR) mit 9-4. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Chris Melling (GBR) und Mieszko Fortunski (POL). Die Europameisterschaft 2014 geht in die heiße Phase und die Vorbereitungen für das nächste Euro-Tour Highlight laufen auf Hochtouren. Direkt nach der EM starten am 10. April die North Cyprus Open 2014 und das Finale wird am Samstag, den 12. April ausgetragen. Mit knapp 160 Meldungen gibt es nach langer Zeit mal wieder einen Teilnehmerhöchststand zu vermelden. Natürlich ist dies der Europameisterschaft geschuldet. Die Teilnehmer der Dynamic European Championship bleiben natürlich zum Großteil in Kyrenia, um an diesem nächsten Euro-Tour Stop teilzunehmen. Dieses Turnier ist nicht nur ein weiteres Euro-Tour Event, es zählt auch zu den Turnieren das in diesem Jahr Punkte für das europäische Mosconi Cup Ranking bringt. 8-Ball titles for Sirotina, Tähti and van den Berg The 8-Ball individuals at the Dynamic Billard European Championships in Kyrenia, North Cyprus, have been decided. The newly crowned Champions are Darya Sirotina (RUS), Jouni Tähti (FIN) and Nick van den Berg (NED). „The toughest match of the day was the quarter-final encounter with Jasmin Ouschan“, stated a happy Sirotina after the final match. She had just defeated Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL) with 6:5. The match was filled with ups and down with Sirotina getting 5:3 advantage over Khodjaeva. But the Belgian knew how to stay in the match and pulled back two racks from Sirotina to tie the match at hill-hill. There, Sirotina proved her nerves and ran out the rack and the match to win her first European Champion title in the women’s division. Jouni Tähti has been there quite some time already. Chinakhov eliminates Alcaide and Das in a row The 10-Ball competition at the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair Athletes in Acapulco Hotel and Resort, Kyrenia, North Cyprus, has provided the spectators with some unexpected results today. A total of 98 men, 46 women and 17 wheelchair players have lined up today to see who will eventually snatch the title from the current Champions. Ruslan Chinakhov came up with the first upset of the day. He defeated David Alcaide (ESP) in a tight thriller with 8:7. In the next round, Chinakhov went ahead and also sent Serge Das (BEL) to the loser’s side. Defending Champion Mateusz Sniegocki (POL) was another famous victim of today’s play. He lost his opening match to Daryl Peach (GBR) with 7:8. Peach proceeded into the single elimination round of the final 64 players while Sniegocki takes the long way. Feijen and Ouschan grab the straight pool crowns The first titles at the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair Athletes have been assigned. In the women’s division, Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) defended her title from last year and won the final match over Oliwia Czuprynska (POL) with 75:19. In the men’s division, Niels Feijen (NED) prevented his teammate Nick van den Berg (NED) from winning three straight pool titles in a row and defeated him 125:50. Ouschan started her day with a clear 75:28 walk over Melissa Rademakers (NED). Then she faced a tough opponent in the quarter-final. Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL) proved to be hard work for Ouschan who stayed on top of the match, winning it with 75:54. In the semi-final match, Ouschan eliminated Line Kjoersvik (NOR) with 75:46. Defending Champions Van den Berg and Ouschan on their way The day started rather stormy. The sea which is normally inviting the people for a nice swim was rough and capricious. Maybe that was a presage for today’s straight pool matches. 95 men and 45 women had taken up the challenge to see who will wear the crown in European straight pool in 2014. Defending Champions were Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) and Nick van den Berg (NED) and they knew that it will not be an easy task to claim the title again this year. Van den Berg had a tough opening match against Daniele Corrieri (ITA). The Italian stood out at recent Euro-Tours by always making it to the final stages of the event. So the match was expected to be a tough fight… and it was! Van den Berg made a mistake at 4:0 and allowed Corrieri to enter the table with a clear shot. The Italian thanked him and made 56 balls.
