Feijen and Ouschan grab the straight pool crowns The first titles at the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair Athletes have been assigned. In the women’s division, Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) defended her title from last year and won the final match over Oliwia Czuprynska (POL) with 75:19. In the men’s division, Niels Feijen (NED) prevented his teammate Nick van den Berg (NED) from winning three straight pool titles in a row and defeated him 125:50. Ouschan started her day with a clear 75:28 walk over Melissa Rademakers (NED). Then she faced a tough opponent in the quarter-final. Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL) proved to be hard work for Ouschan who stayed on top of the match, winning it with 75:54. In the semi-final match, Ouschan eliminated Line Kjoersvik (NOR) with 75:46. Defending Champions Van den Berg and Ouschan on their way The day started rather stormy. The sea which is normally inviting the people for a nice swim was rough and capricious. Maybe that was a presage for today’s straight pool matches. 95 men and 45 women had taken up the challenge to see who will wear the crown in European straight pool in 2014. Defending Champions were Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) and Nick van den Berg (NED) and they knew that it will not be an easy task to claim the title again this year. Van den Berg had a tough opening match against Daniele Corrieri (ITA). The Italian stood out at recent Euro-Tours by always making it to the final stages of the event. So the match was expected to be a tough fight… and it was! Van den Berg made a mistake at 4:0 and allowed Corrieri to enter the table with a clear shot. The Italian thanked him and made 56 balls. Vom 30. März – 09. April 2014 findet in Kyrenia/North Zyprus die Pool Billard Europameisterschaft der Damen, Herren und Rollstuhlfahrer statt. Die Dynamic Billard European Championships Men, Women & Wheelchair 2014 wird auch in diesem Jahr erneut viele hochklassige und spannende Matches hervorbringen. Die letzte Europameisterschaft wurde aus deutscher Sicht erheblich getrübt, zum ersten Mal seit sehr langer Zeit blieb das deutsche Team ohne Medaille. Alle Sieger des Vorjahres findet man im Artikel von 2013 —> Dynamic Billard European Championships Men, Women & Wheelchair 2013. Den Medaillenspiegel 2013 gewann Polen vor den Niederlanden. Nur ganz wenige, der besten Pool Billard Spieler Europas, werden in Kyrenia nicht am Start sein. Preview: 2nd Annual 2014 Deurne City Classic 12.03.2014 – Deurne/Netherlands At this moment in time the Deurne City Classic is the biggest pool events held in The Netherlands. It’s strongly based on the well-known Derby City Classic, one of world’s biggest most visited tournaments. Organized and sponsored by Diamond Billiards Inc. at the Horseshoe Casino and Hotel in Southern Indiana. The Derby hosts world’s biggest one-pocket and bankpool event with more than 800 players visiting every year. A 24/7 greenroom where high-stakes gambling between local players and foreign superstars are being watched on internet live-streams all over the world. Nick van den Berg wins the first Euro-Tour stop in 2014, the Dynamic Billard Italian Open The final match between started with a dominant phase from van den Berg. He ran out the first two racks and the capitalized from a mistake from Skowerski, turning the scoreboard to 3:0 after only 13 minutes. Then van den Berg scratched on his own break and allowed Skowerski to open up his account with 3:1. The next racks were equally shared and after 8 racks the score was 5:3 for van den Berg with Skowerski’s break shot coming up. At that point in time, van den Berg seemed to lose his domination in the match a bit. Skowerski broke the 9-ball and came within one point to van den Berg. The tide seemed to turn in the match. Nick van den Berg (NED) gewinnt Italy Open 2014 im Finale gegen Karol Skowerski (POL) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Niels Feijen (NED) und Mark Gray (GBR). Die Euro-Tour startet vom 06. – 08. Februar 2014 in Treviso/Italien in die neue Saison. Bei den letzten Euro-Tour Events hatte der Veranstalter ein wenig mit rückläufigen Teilnehmerzahlen zu kämpfen und die Attraktivität der Tour wurde infrage gestellt. Mittlerweile sind für die Italy Open 2014 mehr als 130 Teilnehmer gemeldet und vielleicht ist das ein Zeichen dafür, dass es eventuell nur eine kleine Durststrecke war. Titelverteidiger ist Konstantin Stepanov (RUS), er bezwang im letztjährigen Finale Dimitri Jungo aus der Schweiz mit 9-7. Gespielt wird 9 Ball auf 9 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak und das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 34.000 Euro. Austragungsort ist wie so oft das BHR Hotel in Treviso. Derby City Classic 2014

In der Zeit vom 24. Januar bis 01. Februar 2014 findet im Horseshoe Casino in Indiana/USA die 16. Auflage des Derby City Classic statt. Auch in diesem Jahr ist das DCC eines der wichtigsten und spannendsten Pool Billard Events des Jahres. Über eine ganze Woche wird Pool Billard total geboten. Drei Hauptevents und zig Sideevents lassen keine Langeweile aufkommen. Die drei Hauptveranstaltungen sind 9 Ball Bank, One Pocket und 9 Ball. Die erfolgreichsten Teilnehmer aller Hauptevents kommen für den Titel „All Around Champion“ infrage und haben somit eine Chance auf das Preisgeld von 25.000$. Im letzten Jahr sicherte sich Francisco Bustamante (PHI) diesen Titel. Die spannendsten Sideevents sind die Straight-Pool Challenge und die DIAMOND Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge, bei der es immerhin 16.000$ added Money abzustauben gibt. Das Gesamtpreisgeld des Derby City Classic 2014 liegt bei etwa 200.000$. Nahezu die gesamte Weltelite wird in Indiana am Start sein und versuchen einen guten Start ins Jahr 2014 zu haben. Longoni Capelle Open Niels Feijen Inaugural Edition Champion Last weekend, the inaugural edition of the Longoni Capelle Open was held in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). The owners of the venue, Petra and Roy van Straalen, celebrated their 25th anniversary in the billiards business with this fantastic 10-ball event, as well as a 3-cushion Grand Prix. The latter was won by world Champion and Longoni ambassador Dick Jaspers. The Longoni Capelle Open counted no less than ‘147’ entries. A typical number, since Petra and Roy van Straalen contributed immensely to the growth of snooker in the Netherlands, with their five pool and renowned snooker halls. Participants from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and as far as France, Denmark and Sweden attended the event. Four days of qualifications rounds saw the 32 best players emerge to advance to the main tournament on Sunday January 5th 2014. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt Longoni Capelle Open 2014 im Finale gegen Huidji See (NED) mit 8-6. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Noel Bruynooghe (BEL) und Jimmy Worung (NED). Seit gestern finden in Capelle aan den IJssel/Niederlande die Longoni Capelle Open 2014 statt. Das 10 Ball Turnier in der Nähe von Rotterdam wird im Biljart, Snooker en Poolcentrum Capelle ausgetragen und Hauptsponsor ist die Firma Longoni. Die ersten Qualifikationsgruppen wurden bereits gespielt ehe es am Sonntag, den 05. Januar in die Finalrunde der letzten 32 Spieler geht. In den Qualifikationsrunden wird bis 6 gespielt und im Finale auf 7 erhöht. Das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 5.000 Euro. Zu den Favoriten gehören Niels Feijen (NED), Marc Bijsterbosch (NED), Huidji See (NED), Martin Steinlage (GER), Marco Teutscher (NED) und Nick van den Berg (NED). Christian Reimering gewinnt 25. b&a Classics Rockstar Cup 2013 im Finale gegen Sebastian Staab mit 9-3. Den 3. Platz belegen Oliver Ortmann und Bernd Jahnke. Nach den Weihnachtsfeiertagen 2013 findet vom 28. – 30. Dezember in Neckarsulm eines der größten und wohl auch spektakulärsten Turniere in ganz Deutschland statt. Der 25. b&a Classics Rockstar Cup 2013 ist mit 256 Teilnehmern komplett ausgebucht und das 9 Ball Turnier ist absolut erstklassig besetzt. Ausrichter der Jubiläumsausgabe des Rockstar Cups 2013 ist der BC 8-Ball Neckarsulm e.V.. Gespielt wird in den Vorrunden im Doppel-KO System auf 6 Gewinnspiele und in der Finalrunde, die im Einfach-KO System gespielt wird, wird auf 9 Gewinnspiele erhöht. Titelverteidiger ist Christian Reimering vom 1. PBC St. Augustin, er bezwang im Vorjahr in einem herausragenden Finale Sascha Tege mit 9-7.
