Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt 2014 PartyPoker World Pool Masters im Finale gegen Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) mit 8-2. Den 3. Platz belegen Karol Skowerski (POL) und Chris Melling (GBR). Das nächste Pool Billard Highlight des Jahres findet am kommenden Wochenende vom 14. – 16. November 2014 im Portland Centre in Nottingham/GBR statt. Auch dieses Jahr bringt Matchroom Sport beim 2014 PartyPoker World Pool Masters wieder 16 der besten Spieler der Welt an den Tisch und wird wie gewohnt für ein Event der Extraklasse sorgen. Dieses Top-Event, das jedes Jahr ausgetragen wird, ist ein reines Einladungsturnier. Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt US Open 9 Ball Championships 2014 im Finale gegen Dennis Orcollo (PHI) mit 13-10. Den 3. Platz belegt Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE). Shane Van Boening gewinnt als erster Spieler in der Geschichte der US Open 9 Ball diesen begehrten Titel dreimal hintereinander. Vom 13. – 18. Oktober 2014 findet die 39. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships statt. Die US Open 9 Ball gelten in der Pool Billard Szene als das wohl prestigeträchtigste Turnier überhaupt. Neben den Weltmeisterschaften sind die US Open 9 Ball das wohl schwierigste Turnier der Welt. Sehr viele internationale Top-Spieler, immer etwas hektische Bedingungen und von der ersten Runde wird auf 11 Gewinnspiele gespielt, das Finale geht bis 13. 6th October, 2014 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Gray: „It’s one of my biggest achievements.“ ENGLAND’S MARK GRAY gets a chance to win his second PartyPoker Mosconi Cup as he took the first of the automatic qualifying spots at the weekend. Gray, 41, completed a superb run at the Dutch Open in Leende, beating Nik Ekonomopoulus in the final to top the five event Euro Tour series. Gray, who was on the winning side in Malta in 2008, lost early in the event to Karl Boyes and had to battle his way through the losers side of the bracket to reach the straight knock-out last 32. “It’s amazing really that it goes all the way to the final to decide who gets the spot!” he said. “I’m over the moon to be playing in the Mosconi again as it’s only my second time on the team. The Dynamic Eurotour – Dutch Open – 1-4 oct 2014 03/10/2014 Alexander Kazakis (GRE) got the better of Karl Boyes (GBR), ousting the Brit with 9:8 from the Dynamic Billard Dutch Open Euro-Tour event in Leende, The Netherlands. Kazakis got drawn into the round of the last 32 players since he lost in the winner’s qualification round to his friend and teammate Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) with 6:9. However, Boyes was the seeded player who came undefeated through the loser’s round. He surely was the favored player in this match. But having in mind the high level and widely spread quality of the Euro-Tour players, nothing can be taken for granted these days. Kazakis has earned his merits in the past and is known to be a fighter. And the match turned out to be a tough fight. Both players did not give anything away for free. Mark Gray (GBR) gewinnt Dutch Open 2014 im Finale gegen Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) mit 9-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Mario He (AUT) und Alexander Kazakis (GRE). In der Zeit vom 01. – 04. Oktober 2014 finden in Leende bei Eindhoven die Dutch Open 2014 statt. Einen Tag früher als gewohnt beginnt dieser Euro-Tour Stop bereits an einem Mittwoch. Es stehen im Hotel Golden Tulip Jagershorst lediglich elf Pool Billard Tische zur Verfügung, das zwingt die EPBF (European Pocket Billiard Federation) dazu einen Tag früher mit den ersten Runden zu beginnen. Dieser Euro-Tour Stop hat bereits jetzt mehr als 150 Teilnehmer und den größten Anteil mit knapp 30 Spielern stellen natürlich die Niederländer um 9 Ball Weltmeister Niels Feijen und dem führenden im Euro-Tour Ranking Nick van den Berg. Before the tournament Karl Boyes said he would love the chance to ‘shut Earl Strickland up’, after the pair had a fiery Mosconi Cup singles match in Las Vegas last year. Day one wins for Greece, France and Austria 23 September – 2014 Betway World Cup of Pool Greece 7 – 6 Indonesia France 7 – 4 Italy Austria 7 – 2 Portugal THE NINTH ANNUAL Betway World Cup of Pool got underway this afternoon at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth and there were wins for Greece, France and Austria as the first session of the $250,000 event unfolded. The opening match went down to the decider as both Indonesia and Greece had periods in the ascendancy. In the end it was a glaring miss on a routine 5 ball by Muhammad Zulfikri which effectively handed the rack and the match to the Greek pairing of Nik Ekonomopoulus and Alex Kazakis. The second match saw France put paid to Italian hopes as veteran Stefan Cohen and newcomer Alex Montpelier looked the part. Grabe Closing In On Mosconi Spot September 05 – 2014 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Denis Grabe heads Team Europe’s Euro Tour rankings with one event to play as the Estonian bids to earn a first appearance in the PartyPoker Mosconi Cup in Blackpool, England this December.
